Partou Butterflies Day Nursery & Pre-school is a beautiful learning environment set within a converted Victorian property. The setting provides exceptional care and education for children aged 0 - 5.

Following an extensive refurbishment in 2018, the nursery in Prenton boasts an impressive selection of rooms for different areas of learning development. Children at the nursery have access to a Sensory Room, a special Exploration Room, a Dance Classroom, a cooking area and a range of special areas for ICT, literacy, and creative activities.

The nursery has two exciting outdoor areas with plenty of space for children to run around, play and explore. The grassy gardens include a giant pirate ship, planting patches, a mud kitchen, dens and natural areas where children can enjoy the local wildlife. There is also a sheltered part to the outdoor area, which allows children to play outside whatever the weather.

Butterflies' highly-qualified team prepare children for primary school using Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines. The nursery's educators put a strong emphasis on learning through play and tailor activities to children's individual interests and needs. Staff have paediatric first aid and safeguarding training and all have undergone enhanced DBS checks.

Children at the nursery enjoy a varied seasonal menu filled with fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables – which can be altered to suit any special dietary requirements. All food is freshly prepared onsite each day.

Choosing a nursery for my daughter was a very daunting task, but when we found Butterflies we knew this was the perfect place for her. The facilities are fantastic and the staff are so caring and professional. I can’t recommend them enough.

My twin girls have been going for a few months now and both love their time at nursery. They are always full of smiles whenever they see the staff. At first, I was apprehensive about going back to work and sending them to nursery but the staff made me feel so comfortable and after viewing the nursery
(pre-Covid) I could tell it had a lovely homely feel and all of the children there looked really happy. The e learning book the nursery use is fantastic as I can see what activities my girls have been doing that day and what they enjoyed so even though I'm not there I feel a part of it. One of my daughters has problems with her mobility and the staff have been absolutely amazing with her and accommodating her needs. I would highly recommend Butterflies and am very happy that my children get to go there.

Overall the nursery is very good. No issues in recommending. I think cost is something that could be improved. It would be good to have more introductions to the staff as well especially when the children move up.

Butterflies Nursery is outstanding. My son absolutely loved it here. We had recently relocated to the area, so I was worried about how he would act, but the manager and the staff couldn’t have done any more to help him settle in. Two members of staff in particular brought out his confidence and helped
him in all aspects of learning. The food choices were brilliant, so varied and the outside space is amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

My son absolutely loves attending Butterflies. He can be quite shy, even with grandparents, but runs into nursery every morning! The girls are all lovely and have taught him so much. He could already count to 10 and recognise the numbers by 12 months of age. Now at 2, he knows all of his colours, numbers
up to 30 and most letters.

I was extremely anxious sending my little boy to nursery and returning to work when he was 9 months old due to the multiple allergies he has. However, sending him to Butterflies, I needn't have been. At nearly 2, not a single 'slip up' has occurred, which has eased my anxieties greatly. Not only this,
the nursery has a welcoming and homely atmosphere with plenty of stimulating activities, both inside and out. The staff are also very friendly, knowledgeable and supportive. As such, I feel happy leaving my boy in their care, but more importantly, my boy is happy in the time he spends at Butterflies.

Butterflies is an absolutely fantastic nursery. I would highly recommend it, my son loves it there and is very excited every morning to go. The staff there are great, helpful and imaginative. My son is constantly coming home with stories of what he's done in nursery and the best thing is he's still
learning alongside it all. Whenever he goes in with a request or something new they always try to incorporate it into their activities. Any queries I've got are solved promptly. The equipment they've got is amazing and the outside areas they have are incredible. My son will most definitely be sad to leave for big school.

My son has been at this nursery since he was 9 months old and has loved every minute. The staff are friendly, helpful and dedicated to the children as well as showing interest in the parents too. My son is a polite and caring little boy and I feel that this has been well supported by the staff who have
cared for him. I will be sad when he leaves in September to start his big school adventure but ever thankful for the care and support he has received from the manager and her fabulous team.

Our daughter began attending when she was 13 months old. The nursery staff are friendly and knowledgeable and are happy to help whenever possible. Our daughter has thrived in her small group of babies but is becoming much more confident as they are mixed with the pre school group on a regular basis.

My younger child attends Butterflies and my older son attended from 2013-2015. The staff have remained the same since we first used it, which is really important to me. There are lots of imaginative activities and the staff are enthusiastic. I like the small size of the nursery, it feels more like using
a childminder but with the benefits of holiday cover. They have always been very flexible and I've been able to change days when my working patterns change. Super-duper!

Our 3-year-old son has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Butterflies, Prenton. The staff have been great with him and he talks very fondly of them, his 'classmates' and his meals which have been of a very high quality. They have worked hard with him and he's done lots of stuff but above all, he goes in
happy and comes home happy and that is the main basis of my recommendation. He is just about to leave to go into FS1 but he will miss Butterflies and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery to other parents.
