The setting occupies a beautiful converted Victorian school building with spacious, homely rooms filled with natural light and neutral decor, creating a calm environment that supports cognitive development and lets children's creativity flourish.
Every room has its own dedicated garden space, meaning all children can enjoy outdoor play safely at the same time. Outdoor learning is a valued part of daily life here, supporting emotional regulation, motor and social skills and growing confidence. The nursery also has a strong relationship with a local forest school, giving children further opportunities to learn and explore in nature.
The long-standing team is one of Partou Footprints' greatest strengths. The Nursery Manager has been at the setting for over 20 years and the Senior Deputy for over seven, providing consistent, high-quality leadership that children, families and team members all benefit from. That stability helps build excellent parent partnerships and a genuine home from home atmosphere tailored to each child's personality and interests.
Family fundraising events including summer fetes and a Breakfast with Santa support the Ronald McDonald Charity, helping children develop empathy and social skills in a fun and meaningful way. Strong links with local schools support smooth transitions, with primary school teachers invited into the pre-school to meet children ahead of starting school.
If you are looking for a nursery in Atherton with a warm, dedicated team and strong family partnerships, Partou Footprints Day Nursery & Pre-School is well worth a visit.

Both of my children have been attending Footprints for just over 18 months and it was the best decision we have made for our boys. The nursery provides so many opportunities for the children to learn and grow. Best nursery by far around Atherton. All the staff and management team are brilliant.

Brilliant nursery! Our little girl has been attending this nursery since 2020! She’s nearly ready to leave for primary school but we made the best decision sending her to footprints! The staff are lovely and always do their best to make the children have fun!

My daughter has attended Footprints Day Nursery since being 9 months old. She started during the pandemic and since day one has adored her time there. She's thrived in all aspects, and the staff are friendly, professional, and most of all so caring to our daughter. She eats a good diet and really enjoys her meals which are cooked onsite, by the lovely chef. Thanks all for taking such good care of our daughter. She has so much fun and is always coming home with new songs, games, knowledge and excellent manners. This is all down to you guys, so thank you.

From the moment I first visited Footprints, I knew it was the right place for my children. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and they always take the time to answer all of my questions and address any concerns. One of the things that stand out to me is the outdoor play area. It is spacious and has plenty of equipment for my children to enjoy; meaning my children get plenty of fresh air and exercise while at the nursery. The staff truly care about each child and go above and beyond to ensure that their individual needs are met. I feel reassured knowing that my children are in such capable and caring hands. I am also impressed by the focus on learning and development at Footprints. The staff provide a range of activities and experiences that encourage my children to explore and learn. I love seeing the progress my children make at Footprints. I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful place for my children to grow and thrive.
Staff are always so attentive and supportive, they helped my children settle in and be more confident. I am grateful and thankful, they are amazing. Every pick up I am informed of every detail of my children’s day.
