My daughters are new to Stepping Stones and only there one day per week in the baby room. The staff, facilities and meal plans have been my favourite parts so far. The staff in the baby room and in the office have been helpful with paperwork and really got to know our girls and how to make them comfortable being away from home for a full day, for the first time. I'm assured that they are well looked after, and they also give me, as their mum, reassurance and information as needed. The facilities are quaint and really allow for playtime and fun for the babies. They go outside every day and really get messy, which I love! Lastly, I feel like they eat healthy and often.
My son loves attending Stepping Stones Day Nursery. He used to be really quiet and shy, didn’t want to play with kids, just me and my husband. I had my son during lockdown and it used to be just us three. Since he started nursery last year, he is very social, loves playing with kids, developed so many skills including communicating in two languages. He is bilingual and it took him a while to start talking but I want to say a massive thank you to all staff at nursery who encouraged him throughout many creative activities. We practiced a lot at home to help and he became a very bright, caring, independent little boy. Thank you so much for not only looking after our son, but making him feel safe and important, you make him feel like home.
I love my daughter's nursery. Every member of staff knows her name, they are caring, they love her like she’s their own and she is very well cared for which reflects in how she feels about nursery. Every week she cannot wait to go and spend time with her friends. From the moment she walks in she is greeted with a smile and if she’s ever sad there’s always a comforting arm for her to go to. My child has just turned 2 and without nursery she wouldn’t know half of what she does already. She knows the days of the week, she can count unaided to fifteen, she knows a handful of shapes and she can recite any nursery rhyme you ask for. The time the staff put into their development to get them ready for school is fantastic. It may not be the most modern nursery with state of the art amenities, but the children are all well cared for and that reflects in their happy faces.
My daughter has been going to Stepping Stones for a year and a half. She really struggles socially and had a bad experience previously. Since going to Stepping Stones they’ve gone above and beyond to make sure she is comfortable and fits in. They have all the time in the world for her and understand her character and quirks. She is always happy and chatty on the way and when leaving and they really have made her feel special. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone. My son will certainly be attending when he’s old enough too.
I have nothing but love and appreciation for everyone at Stepping Stones Worsley and will be sad to leave when the time comes.
My youngest daughter is due to start the nursery next year and we know she will be left in good hands!
Both my boys have attended the nursery and have developed and enjoyed their experiences. When there have been any concerns, staff are fast to act upon them. The manager cares for the children as her own and they all feel valued. I wanted a small nursery with a personal approach to the children and this is exactly what Stepping Stones offers.
I’ve had two children attend the nursery. One has moved into school and my youngest now attends. My youngest moved out of baby room recently. I can’t shout loud enough about the ladies in baby room. The activities are varied and they really care about the children. Now, my son is in toddler room and he loves it there too. The girls invest themselves into the children’s likes and dislikes and what they need. They get to know them so well. My son loves it and I’m glad he attends somewhere that makes him feel so comfortable.
My daughter has been attending Stepping Stones since she was thirteen months. She is now three, so she’s moved through all three rooms. In all cases, I can say that our experience at this nursery has been fantastic. Our daughter has flourished since she started attending Stepping Stones. She is an only child, but her social experience has been so excellent that nobody could tell that she has no siblings. She is happy every day that she gets to attend and has really strong relationships with many of the other children and several of the nursery workers. Every week they set up some new and innovative activity for the children to enjoy, often using natural/recycled resources. The meals they serve are varied and nutritious and our daughter always eats everything! I cannot say enough good things about Stepping Stones and it will be a sad day when it’s time to leave!

My name is Cheryl and have been part of the Stepping Stones family for 16 years. Starting my journey as a trainee and working my way up to the role of Nursery Manager at our Worsley site.
I hold a Level 6 degree in Early Childhood Studies and my Early Years Professional Status. I am very passionate about ensuring I have well trained and caring practitioners within my team and building secure relationships with both our children and families!
I am also part of the company’s Childcare Development Team, in which I support team members across our other nursery sites, training and role modelling.
Hi, I’m Paula.
I’ve been part of the team at our Stepping Stones Day Nursery in Worsley for over 10 years, beginning my journey as a Nursery Assistant and progressing through to Senior Nursery Practitioner, and now Deputy Nursery Manager. Along the way, I’ve proudly completed my childcare qualifications, building a strong foundation of knowledge and experience.
I’m truly passionate about supporting children as they grow, learn, and flourish, and I take great pride in creating a nurturing, positive environment for them every day. I also love working closely with our team and families, offering support, encouragement, and a friendly face whenever it’s needed.
No two days are ever the same in nursery life, which is something I really enjoy – I’m always learning, growing, and finding new ways to make a difference.
