Tiny Steps Nursery is a family-run group of two nurseries in Manchester. The original setting in Longsight is rated Outstanding by Ofsted (May 2022), while the second branch in Gorton, opened more recently, achieved a Good rating at its first inspection in May 2025 - with the same leadership team and approach across both sites.
Children are welcomed from two months to five years at both settings. The curriculum blends group-led and child-initiated activities, creative play, trips out and in-house events, giving every child a broad range of educational resources and focused learning tailored to their stage of development.
Tiny Steps sees itself as a partner with parents, not just a childcare provider. Staff take time to listen - whether it's a question about a child's progress, a health need, or simply how their day went. Security, safeguarding and wellbeing sit at the heart of everything the nursery does, alongside the learning outcomes its early years professionals take genuine pride in delivering.
With two convenient locations in Longsight (M13) and Gorton, government-funded places available, and an experienced, consistent team across both sites, Tiny Steps offers families in East and South Manchester an exceptional start to their child's education. Parents can visit the nursery's website to explore both branches and arrange a viewing.

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 52 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 52 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 21.9 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

My daughter started at Tiny Steps Nursery in May 2017, full time, and has thrived under the care of the staff who have been attentive and supportive from day one. She enjoys all of the activities on offer especially the outdoor play. I am very pleased that there is a variety of fresh, healthy meals on offer and as such, she is not a fussy eater at home.
All the staff are very approachable and have a genuine interest in your child's well being and life.
The nursery manager is particularly attentive to all the children and is always hands on. She has a genuine love for the children and staff and I would say she gives it that family feeling. My daughter sees the nursery as a home from home and is very comfortable.
I'd be more than happy to suggest Tiny Steps Nursery to anyone looking for a Nursery that's a little bit different than the larger chains and much more personal!!

My son has been attending the nursery for about 8 months now and he loves it here. The staff are very attentive and friendly, and as a parent, it’s difficult to find a place that you fully trust to take care of your child especially if you have had bad experiences in the past. I have seen him thrive to become a clever young little man, and I am truly happy and confident that the nursery staff have been able to take care of him with utmost care and patience. The fees are great given that it has an Outstanding Ofsted report. I highly recommend Tiny Steps.
