Rated 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2025, the Early Years Alliance Bulwell Childcare Centre Nursery offers quality childcare for up to 54 children between the ages of 6 weeks -11 years.
The committed and friendly team of practitioners provides children with a variety of learning opportunities which follow the early years foundation stage (EYFS) and they are encouraged to learn through play.
The nursery is open from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm during term time.
The nursery is fortunate enough to be situated inside a previous Children's Centre where they have lots of lovely space including an outside area to play in.
The nursery is split into three rooms. The first room is called "The Little Stars" where the children age from 6 weeks to 2 years old. The second room is the 'Little Treasures' room where they take children from 2 until 3 years of age.
Then when staff feel the children are ready and parents are happy they move them into the 'Little Explorers' room where children can stay until they are 5 years of age.
Environments are very welcoming with home from home style and lots of natural resources that are used to create inviting, exciting, imaginative and explorative spaces to engage all of the children.
The focus is on the children's own interests and staff work closely with all families all of the time. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always on hand to help whenever they can.
There is also an after-school club and staff do a school pick up from Crabtree Farm Primary school next door.
There is restricted parking however you can park on Clayfield Close which is just a road next to them.

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery applies funded hours during term time only. You've selected 30 funded hours.
This nursery applies up to 6.5 funded hours per day, used only during term time. With your selected funding, 19.5 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

All staff are outstanding at Bulwell childcare. My older daughter used to go there which made me not second guess where my son Ostin was going to go as it was mainly the same staff still working there. All the new staff are just as amazing. My son went with a egg milk and soya allergy. At no point was i worried leaving him as they was well trained and even went out their way to buy Ostin food for snacks that he could eat so he wasnt missing out. Now we are climbing the milk ladder it is alot easier for him. I live facing the nursary so i get the chance to see how well the staff interact with all the kids when playing which is heart warming to see. They keep me informed with any changes or upcoming events and ring me straight away if Ostin has had a trip or fall. I am more than happy to tell my friends and family to join this nursary.
Liza the.manager has helped me.so much when i have not been sure of some things ie signing up to my 30 hours free. I am truly blessed with this nursary

The teachers here at Bulwell Childcare are amazing, I was so sceptical about letting my child go to nursery at a young age, especially with all the stories in the media but he has been there for 2 years now and the teachers my son has had have been incredible with him and I couldn't have asked for better people to be teaching him the time he has been here. When he first came to nursery my son was struggling with his speech and a few other things a few months in this nursery and he started speaking properly, his confidence had got so much better and he was so happy and loved it. Each day he learnt new things. Thank you to the manager and the staff, you're all such lovely and amazing people and I can't thank you all enough.

My son has been going to nursery for just over a year. He was very upset when he first started as are a lot of children I would imagine. They allowed my son to have as many settling in sessions as I wanted which was really good, as this made me feel comfortable as this was the first time my son had ever attended nursery. He settled well and has a good bond with all the staff that interact with him on his days at nursery. I love the Famly app, this is very useful when at work I can pop on and see what my little boy has been up to, what he has eaten etc.
Thank you to all the staff on making my son feel so welcome and loved at nursery.

It's my second daughter currently attending there now. My first did previously attend, but alas has grown and moved on. Admittedly when our family moved to the area we a little apprehensive. But a change around in the management midway through really excelled this place. As well as watching my daughters flourish I too have seen this nursery advance in great bounds, and when it came time for my youngest to join, there was absolutely 'no' apprehension, only joy and pride knowing she definitely is safe, looked after and in good hands. I think the best thing I can say that most parents will understand, is that your kids are not only safe and looked after here, but they are surrounded by very professional and loving human beings.
An excellent nursery.

I have a son as well as over 10 years of experience in the Early Years sector. I gained my NNEB certificate in 1998 and have loved working at Bulwell Childcare and being a part of building it up to a reputable nursery where all our children and families love coming each day.
I have a fantastic team all with various skills that together we make it a home from home, a happy place to be and where all our children flourish. Nothing is ever too much trouble we can always find a way to make things work for our families from flexible childcare times to funding places and additional hours. Just ask!

I joined Bulwell Childcare in March 2020 from one of our other settings as Deputy Manager having worked for the alliance for over 15 years. I am NVQ Level 3 qualified and have lots of experience and ideas. I have my own Children and Grandchildren which has given me lots of my own experience to bring to Nursery. I can't wait to get stuck into the Outdoor space as I have lots of ideas to bring to it.
I share the vision that Bulwell Childcare has and can't wait to help improve the setting where possible. Our families are very important to me and I am here for them if they need me.

Hi, I have a National Diploma in Early Years & Education which I gained in 2016. I have been working with Bulwell Childcare ever since and with the support of a good team, I have grown in confidence and knowledge. I have a child of my own so understand how hard it can be to leave them in childcare. I am a passionate worker who just loves being a part of the development of all the little ones we are involved in within the nursery. Supporting them and their families' emotional well-being is a real strength of mine. I can support all our new children, as well as hold the hands of our parents as they leave their babies for the first time. I currently work in The Little Explorers room.

I started working at Nursery as Maternity Cover, I enjoyed my time here so much that when the opportunity to stay permanently came along I grabbed it with both hands. I have a Level 3 diploma and came to work at Bulwell Childcare straight from achieving my qualification. I love to get messy with the children and encourage them to use their creative side. I have worked with all ages since being here and really enjoy helping them bring out their creativity. I have also completed my training to become a SENCO as helping all children is something I am passionate about. I am currently based in the Little Explorers Room.

I am a mother of one boy and one girl and can speak Slovak, Polish, Czech and English. I qualified with a level 3 Diploma in Childcare in 2012 and haven't looked back. I have enjoyed working with all ages and am pleased I have had the chance to use my languages to support some of our families in Bulwell Childcare. I am a very conscientious worker and always go over and above in anything I do. Being a part of each of our key children's lives is a real privilege and documenting their progress to share with families after is something I really enjoy too. It's great we have a lovely friendly team who always pull together when the need arises. Fun and family are always at the heart of what we do. I am currently based in The Little Stars Room.
