Rated 'Good' by Ofsted in November 2019, the Early Years Alliance Bulwell Childcare Centre Nursery offers quality childcare for up to 54 children between the ages of 6 weeks -11 years.

The committed and friendly team of practitioners provides children with a variety of learning opportunities which follow the early years foundation stage (EYFS) and they are encouraged to learn through play.

The nursery is open from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm during term time.

The nursery is fortunate enough to be situated inside a previous Children's Centre where they have lots of lovely space including an outside area to play in.

The nursery is split into three rooms. The first room is called "The Little Stars" where the children age from 6 weeks to 2 years old. The second room is the 'Little Treasures' room where they take children from 2 until 3 years of age.

Then when staff feel the children are ready and parents are happy they move them into the 'Little Explorers' room where children can stay until they are 5 years of age.

Environments are very welcoming with home from home style and lots of natural resources that are used to create inviting, exciting, imaginative and explorative spaces to engage all of the children.

The focus is on the children's own interests and staff work closely with all families all of the time. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always on hand to help whenever they can.

There is also an after-school club and staff do a school pick up from Crabtree Farm Primary school next door.

Both my children have attended this nursery and all I can say is it's the best in the area the staff so welcoming and friendly, they are incredible with the children, my daughter struggled at first to settle in but they always made her feel comfortable and she was always saying how much she loved the
nursery, thank you for all your hard work at the nursery

Very good nursery. Children seem to enjoy being there. The staff are very friendly and approachable and tries to adapt their way of working to fit each child's individual needs.

The teachers here at Bulwell Childcare are amazing, I was so sceptical about letting my child go to nursery at a young age, especially with all the stories in the media but he has been there for 2 years now and the teachers my son has had have been incredible with him and I couldn't have asked for better
people to be teaching him the time he has been here. When he first came to nursery my son was struggling with his speech and a few other things a few months in this nursery and he started speaking properly, his confidence had got so much better and he was so happy and loved it. Each day he learnt new things. Thank you to the manager and the staff, you're all such lovely and amazing people and I can't thank you all enough.

My son has been going to nursery for just over a year. He was very upset when he first started as are a lot of children I would imagine. They allowed my son to have as many settling in sessions as I wanted which was really good, as this made me feel comfortable as this was the first time my son had
ever attended nursery. He settled well and has a good bond with all the staff that interact with him on his days at nursery.
I love the Famly app, this is very useful when at work I can pop on and see what my little boy has been up to, what he has eaten etc.

For 3 years now I have been so happy and thankful for this place, everything very clean, the staff are the most amazing I have ever seen. My little boy loves going to nursery. The staff are friendly and approachable and are willing to help. All of my children have attended this nursery, and have had no problems at all. Love the app that the staff used as it allows me to see bits that my child has done and also where he is with his development

I honestly could not recommend this nursery enough. My son absolutely adores all the staff and always comes home and tells me how good his day's been. The staff always go above and beyond for all the children; they are truly amazing. Myself and my son will be very sad when he has to move to a big school;

All staff are extremely friendly and caring. Very good communication skills and interaction. The whole nursery is well looked after and is presented well. Plenty to do for the children and lots of varieties.

It's my second daughter currently attending there now. My first did previously attend, but alas has grown and moved on.
Admittedly when our family moved to the area we a little apprehensive. But a change around in the management midway through really excelled this place. As well as watching my daughters
flourish I too have seen this nursery advance in great bounds, and when it came time for my youngest to join, there was absolutely 'no' apprehension, only joy and pride knowing she definitely is safe, looked after and in good hands.
I think the best thing I can say that most parents will understand, is that your kids are not only safe and looked after here, but they are surrounded by very professional and loving human beings.
An excellent nursery.

This nursery is a very friendly and caring place. My son has been coming here since he was 2. His development has come on loads. The staff there have been fantastic with him. He loves going. I and my son feel this nursery is home from home. The staff are not just nursery nurses they have become a role model to my child which has had positive effects on him. They are all very loving, very caring and very considerate and finally what people’s looking for honest, trustworthy and reliable staff

I have a son as well as over 10 years of experience in the Early Years sector. I gained my NNEB certificate in 1998 and have loved working at Bulwell Childcare and being a part of building it up to a reputable nursery where all our children and families love coming each day.


I have a fantastic team all with various skills that together we make it a home from home, a happy place to be and where all our children flourish. Nothing is ever too much trouble we can always find a way to make things work for our families from flexible childcare times to funding places and additional hours. Just ask!

I joined Bulwell Childcare in March 2020 from one of our other settings as Deputy Manager having worked for the alliance for over 15 years. I am NVQ Level 3 qualified and have lots of experience and ideas. I have my own Children and Grandchildren which has given me lots of my own experience to bring to Nursery. I can't wait to get stuck into the Outdoor space as I have lots of ideas to bring to it.

I started working at Nursery as Maternity Cover, I enjoyed my time here so much that when the opportunity to stay permanently came along I grabbed it with both hands. I love to get messy with the children and encourage them to use their creative side.  I have worked with all ages since being here and really enjoy helping them bring out their creativity.
