St George's Day Nursery is an exceptional childcare setting with a genuine family feel where children and parents feel welcomed and valued. Communication is excellent, with regular updates that build trust and reassurance.
The team's commitment is clear, and the low staff turnover provides stability, allowing children to form strong, lasting bonds. The staff are creative, caring, and dedicated. Chippy is incredibly comforting, Martika is loved by the children for her warm and approachable nature, Loretta is deeply committed to each child's learning experience, and Sharon truly adores the children.
The nursery is led by Holly, whose expertise and innovative approach to the EYFS set it apart from others, bringing fresh, engaging ideas into the setting.

A wonderful nursery where children thrive and parents feel confident in the care provided.

After moving my son from another nursery due to concerns, I can honestly say it was the best decision I've ever made. He is incredibly happy, well cared for, and has made amazing progress since joining.
My son has food allergies, and the staff take this very seriously. They consistently go above and beyond to ensure he still enjoys a varied and inclusive diet, which gives me great peace of mind.
All of the staff, including the manager, are nurturing, kind, and genuinely invested in the children. They take the time to truly understand my son as an individual, rather than just another child in the room, which means so much to me.
On a personal level, the nursery manager, Holly, has been incredibly supportive during some difficult situations we've faced. She has always made time for me, offering understanding, encouragement, and reassurance when I've needed it most.

Thank you so much to the entire team.

We couldn't be happier with St Georges Sherwood. After some underwhelming viewings on more local nurseries we were pretty nervous about sending our son to nursery. St George's was a little further to travel but after an introduction meeting/tour we were decided. Our son is now approaching a year at St George's and we're so happy with the decision we made.

The staff are welcoming, caring and it's obvious they take pride in creating a nurturing environment for the babies to grow and experiment safely. Regular updates are nice to follow on the app each day and it's very clear there is a strong bond between my son and members of the staff.

The staff at St George's Nursery Sherwood are some of the most caring I could ever have hoped to place my daughter with. Everyone takes pride in their role of providing safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for the children.

Staff are very communicative, whether it relates to my daughter, and admin concern, simply what the children will be up to the following week.

The use of the app to keep parents updated provides comfort and knowledge that children are continuing to enjoy their time there, and thrive in the environment. Similarly, staff are always willing to answer questions about children and ensure that anything being worked on at home, carries over to the nursery.

I visited a number of nurseries before deciding on this one, and I am confident I could not have made a better choice for my daughter.

Our baby has settled in so well at St George's! The staff were incredibly patient and supportive during the settling-in period. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect nursery - we love that we receive updates throughout the day with every little detail. The management team are fantastic and always on hand to offer support whenever it's needed. Thank you, St George's Team Sherwood, for putting my mind at ease - I know my baby is happy, loved, and well cared for!

We moved our daughter from another local nursery a few weeks ago. We were so nervous and anxious about doing this but we have not looked back! Our daughter has settled in so well thanks to the caring, experienced and determined staff. The manager and her team went out of their way to ensure we felt listened to and supported. Our daughter is 1 year old and is so happy going into nursery in the mornings. The nursery update us every single day with photos and meals etc are recorded on the app. Communication with us as parents has been fantastic. Our daughter has specific needs and staff put together a care plan for her and ensured that all staff were aware of her needs. It's early days for us but we have been so impressed with everything we have experienced so far and are confident our daughter will continue to thrive there.

We recently enrolled our son at St. George's Nursery and we couldn't be happier with the experience so far. From the very first day, the staff have been incredibly welcoming, caring, and attentive, making the transition smooth and stress-free for both us and our little one.
The nurturing environment at St. George's is exactly what we hoped for in a nursery. The team truly takes the time to understand each child's individual needs, helping them feel comfortable and confident. Our son has already started to settle in beautifully, and it's clear he's thriving under their care.

We are so glad we chose St. George's Nursery and feel confident that our son is in the best possible hands. We're looking forward to watching him grow, learn, and make happy memories in this wonderful setting.

I really cannot fault St George's Nursery Sherwood. The staff are wonderful they've taken the time to really get to know my child with such enthusiasm and authenticity that it is one of his favourite places to be.

The initial visit and settling in process ticked all of the boxes, it was safe, lovely home from home environment, all the staff were very skilled, professional, happy, friendly and approachable. It is completely centered around the children and families. The activities led by staff are very interactive, creative and amazing for building conceptual learning in a fun and memorable way. My child has shown positive continual development since spending time with the children and staff there and I see how polite and respectful he has become and such a social butterfly.

My daughter is very happy and likes to come to the nursery very much. She loves all the staff and they all helped her to settle in the nursery. Since English is not her first language it was a bit difficult for her to adjust to the setting, but all of the staff were helpful and now she can speak English well. The staff is so caring and loving, the App is really very useful since we can know what she ate, and how she has been all day. At the same time, my daughter loves to eat the meals provided by the nursery and they give different nutritious food as well. Would like to recommend it as the best nursery.

St George's Nursery have provided high quality care for my daughter from 8 months to the age of 4 and my son who is currently 2. The nursery has a care of committed staff members meaning the care is consistent. The range of toys are well presented and engaging. The new forest school area is brilliant, and the children are often outside playing or enjoying a story. The play us creative, free and none formulated, which I believe helped my daughter's imagination to flourish and my son is always smiling when I pick him up.

My daughter attended St George's nursery and loved every second of it. Great resources & facilities, a wide range of foods offered, good communication between staff & parents. My daughter doesn't usually like spending time away from me, but she was always excited to go to nursery. There is also an app that the staff update daily letting you know what they've eaten, activities your child has enjoyed, accidents & you can log who is going to be picking your child up so there is no confusion at the door. Excellent nursery, would highly recommend it!

My daughter has been going to St George's Sherwood for a year and thoroughly enjoys the setting. I cannot fault the staff and management who are super knowledgeable, kind and polite. She's happy to walk through the door in the morning and I'm safe in the knowledge that she's having a great time.
They're always happy to help and communication is great, especially at pick-up/drop-off times and via the app. I love that you can look at the app to see what your child has eaten throughout the day, activities they've enjoyed and how much they've slept.
The nursery has been updated incredibly well in the last year, with an additional forest school-style outdoor area which the kids use all year round. They really cater for all your child's needs and actively encourage exploring their interests.

Overall I'm really impressed with the nursery itself and the staff here, I can't recommend them enough.

We moved our two children to St George’s after the baby room in our old nursery had to close. We moved quite quickly and one of our children has a serious medical condition. Throughout, the staff and the nursery have been brilliant at supporting us and making our children feel really settled and welcome. Our children love it here.

My son has been a member of St George’s since September 2023 and they have been fantastic so far. The app is great and keeps us up to date with all his meals, activities and naps. We get regular updates on his playtime activities and the staff are always quick to get in touch if he is showing signs of any illness, or has any accidents whilst he’s crawling around and learning to walk. The food menu is really varied and gives him a chance to try all sorts of new things which we can then give him at home. We’re really pleased with his development and he’s always happy when dropped off in the mornings so he can go have fun with his new friends. We look forward to him growing through the classes at St George’s!

Holly Searston

I started my journey in early years just over 15 years ago!

I have an open degree where I mainly focused on early years but also did a year in primary education and did research studies that also focused on childhood studies. I have my forest schools’ level 3, level 3 in speak and language and I’m also an accredited language lead.

I have so many favourite moments working with children it would be hard to choose. One of the things I enjoy the most is when you make incredible relationship with the children and know their individual personalities, so you can tailor their experience to meet their needs and make it fun and exciting.

Another element I love about working with children is when you support them and see them achieve their goals, developmentally or even just like this week when a child was very nervous about using the climbing frame. The child needed lots of help and reassurance from me to use the climbing frame, to then getting up on it by themselves and then completing it with little help and watching them smile and be proud of their own achievement.

I think what attracted me to work in nurseries stemmed all the way from my early childhood. I have very positive memories from when I was in nursery and loved my nursery teachers. I then went on to do my work experience in early years settings and loved it! I suppose I wanted to be that teacher (miss honey) and give children the best early years’ experience where they are nurtured and can grow into the best little people they can be.
