Children 1st The Marina Nursery School

This nursery is amazing. They’re always doing new, stimulating activities with the kids (and babies, I have 1.5 and 3-years-old enrolled). Both my kids get genuinely excited to go when it’s a “nursery day”! The carers are super friendly and energetic, and everyone from the chef to the carers have been amazingly accommodating for our kid's allergies.

My daughter has been at Children 1st @ The Marina for almost a year now. She absolutely loves it there, and she is always excited to go to nursery. Her adaptation went very smoothly, thanks to the amazing team that assisted her. She has developed really well, and it shows how much the nursery has influenced it. She made lots of friends, and loves going to see her key workers and friends. She loves her dinners, and she is always interested to try new things (something that the nursery is always encouraging them to do). I would highly recommend this nursery, and I am really happy with all the staff, facilities, resources and activities here.

The staff are fantastic; they really brought on my daughter's confidence. She now plays independently at home and loves playing with all the other children here. Our daughter goes into nursery smiling and waving to all the staff very happily and comes out equally happy after having such a fun day. She always eats her meals too, even if it's something she would never eat at home, which is really encouraging.

It is my son's first month at the nursery. He absolutely loves it, always happy to go and enjoys playing there. According to the staff, he enjoys climbing on the slides the most! We have got his first drawing, too, so cute! I'm sure he enjoys singing and dancing as well. Lovely place!

This nursery have only exceeded my expectations since COVID hit and they have been brilliant since re-opening. My little boy was in tears on day one and when he was scooped up and comforted without hesitation as I dropped him off I knew everything would be okay. My experience compared to friends at other nurseries has been excellent. They continued to provide full meals, my little boy still comes out happily clutching pictures he has drawn. Every single one of the team makes such an effort with the children and keeps a cheerful smile on their faces despite spending a lot of time outside in all weathers. He can spell his name, uses numbers really well and is starting to recognise his phonics. I can't recommend them highly enough. They are a little gem in a city setting and we have been so grateful for them during these unsettled times. They have been outstanding.

He adapted fairly quick and seems happy to go to the nursery so it’s a place that I would recommend to anyone looking.

My son has been at The Marina since he was a year old, and I can't recommend this nursery highly enough. The staff here are wonderful, caring, friendly and helpful and my son loves his time there. The quality of care he receives is outstanding and I feel able to put great trust in them. Resources and early years learning are very good and the nursery has just undergone an extensive refit which means it looks very new and modern. There's plenty of space and management are great at communicating with parents.

My son has been attending the nursery for 2 years and really loves it. He gets excited about going and always talks about his friends and his teachers very fondly. The food is varied and home-cooked and they do different activities each day. I looked around a couple of other nurseries before starting my son here and didn't get the same feeling as I did at Children's 1st @ The Marina. I knew as soon as I visited I would be happy to leave my boy here.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since 8 months old, she is now 3 years old. Absolutely amazing nursery with staff who are willing to help out for yours and your child’s needs. I’d recommend this nursery to everyone and anyone all day long.

This is a lovely nursery setting. The staff are so kind and friendly and go above and beyond to help the children settle in and feel welcome. My son has so much fun and really enjoys his time at nursery. They have some great facilities and have really utilised the space they have.

Excellent nursery. All the staff are very friendly, approachable and helpful. I always feel like they have a genuine interest in my daughter, her well-being and her progression. I can't commend the staff highly enough, especially as they deal very well with my daughters toddler cheekiness. Recently refurbed the whole nursery and the setting is beautiful, lots of sensory toys and age-appropriate areas to play in. My daughter goes outside often throughout the day, as well as having song time and free time to play within the room. The menu they offer for the children is great as well, very varied with lots of healthy snacks etc as well as the odd treat.

The location of the nursery is ideal as an employee of the university. The developments my child has made since he started have been incredible, supported by the regular feedback that is documented via their online "diary" type system. It is clear the goals that are set for my child each term and it is a pleasure seeing when he reaches them. The staff are nurturing, friendly and understanding. We couldn't have trusted a lovelier more professional team of people with the welfare of our child. They are currently undergoing refurbishments, showing their commitment to continual improvement and I cannot recommend them enough. The parent waiting areas are slightly cramped, but that cannot be helped and I would rather that so my child has more space to roam around in.

This nursery is incredible, from day one since my son was nine months old, I have not once worried about him here, every single one of the staff from the receptionists through to the nursery nurses and the chef are super friendly and helpful and most importantly amazing with the children. My son learns so much and develops here and has always been excited and happy to go. I will be so sad when he has to leave here and go to school and so will my son. Thank you The Marina.

Absolutely amazing, my girl loves it here. The staff are wonderful, helpful, caring. I can't recommend them enough. They regularly refurbish their rooms to a high-standards.

Our son had been very happy here for over two years now. The staff are amazing, friendly, professional. The children are treated as individuals and it's lovely to see their personalities nurtured and individual needs responded to. The nursery has really supported our little boy developing life skills that I know would have taken longer without it. We've had comments from other adults about little things like taking his shoes off and clearing his plates away that I know come from there. But he always has loads of fun too and tells me all the lovely things they've been up to. The app is great and we always enjoy seeing photos of what he's been doing and he always comes home with a new song. Have recommended to friends wholeheartedly, and will continue to do so.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this nursery to family and friends: in fact, I cannot recommend it enough. The care of my son is fantastic. Staff are compassionate and understanding: they have taken the trouble to get to know my son's likes, dislikes and individual personality and tailor his supervision and care accordingly. This is immensely reassuring. The staff are very supportive of my son's development; for instance, they are supporting us in weaning him off his dummy. There is always a lot of feedback on how my son's day has gone. I'm impressed with the range of activities my son experiences on a daily basis. There is a good balance of indoor and outdoor activities including 'messy play' type activities as well as reading and singing. I like the fact that he's encouraged to 'explore' but to also develop his literacy skills. The menus for the children are always varied and nutritious. Overall, this is an excellent nursery and I feel very comfortable that he is there.

My little boy started nursery here when he was just six weeks old and now, two years later, he has just had his last day as we have sadly had to move house and nursery. Every single day he has had at the nursery has been fantastic. He has enjoyed every day, looked forward to going every morning and has always come home with a smile on his face and a tummy full of food. The staff are all fantastic and I can't say I have ever had a bad experience with any of the care-workers or admin team who have been faultless during our time here. The facilities, organisation and staff here have played a huge role in helping my little boy develop and grow into a funny, healthy and happy little toddler and I can't thank them enough for it. For anyone looking for a nursery in the Lincoln area, this place, and everyone who is associated with it, is magnificent and I couldn't have imagined a better quality of care if I tried!

My only criticism would be nursery to parent communication, especially when trying to book extra sessions. I don't think I have ever received a call back when leaving a message and have to chase up management. This is only relevant to administrative communication, nothing to do with classroom/my child.
