We couldn't be happier with our experience of Westwards - our daughter is in Sunshine room and it's been so good for her development, she's incredibly chatty and loves telling us about all the activities she's been up to each day. Currently going through the transition into Rainbow Room and the staff
have handled it incredibly well. She's been enjoying some time in Rainbow room and has loved talking to the other children at lunchtime.
She LOVES her nursery workers - especially her key worker - and I'm so grateful at how well they've gotten to know her, given her confidence and taught her so many things. They always go with her interests, and build upon them. I enjoy how much they go for walks, and the variety of things they explore and play with. Thank you to the whole team!

My son is currently enrolled at Westwards and he is loving his time there! He even asks to go to nursery on a Sunday! The team has been very welcoming when we first moved to Loughborough and have helped my son settle in very quickly. They offer various activities for the children and take them on trips
out which is great, helping them develop outside of the nursery environment too. I'm very happy with the level of care and the home from home setting the nursery provides and would highly recommend them.
Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolSo fantastic to hear your son is 'loving his time' with us! Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to review us. Our staff team are our biggest strength, they are long serving, dedicated, nurturing, caring, experienced and highly qualified. We believe in children having a range of experiences both in and out of nursery and we know our children love going on trips out. Being so central to the town means we are often on walks and days out. We aim to create a home from home environment so great to hear you feel we provide this. Again thank you for taking the time to review us.

Both our children have attended Westwards Nursery. My eldest attended from being a baby to starting school. They were excellent with him and identified his needs and worked with him on areas that needed it. My youngest has been in the baby room for nearly a year and loves it. She adores the practitioners,
she has so much fun and is making friendships there. She loves it so much she often cries when she has to leave as she's having so much. They're an excellent nursery. The food is of a fantastic standard and quality, it's clean and the children and are enriched and genuinely cared about.
Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolThank you for your review - really lovely to hear you feel we are an 'excellent nursery' and that both of your children have thrived since joining us in our cosy baby room. Our practitioners provide a calm, safe and secure space for children in which they develop and learn through fun activities and an engaging environment. It is great to hear your opinion on our carefully planned seasonal menu, as we aim to provide well balanced nutritious meals. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback.

My son started in Feb 2026 in the baby room; they went above and beyond for both me and my son, Rupert. Staff are very friendly and always able to offer help and advice. He loves going, always smiling when he settles well with all the staff. There's always a variety of activities and interests for him.
Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolThank you for your lovely feedback. Its great to hear your son has settled so quickly and is already thriving at Westwards. Our baby room staff are experienced, dedicated, caring and extremely nurturing. All of our activities are child-centered, so staff will endeavor to find out all of his interests and encourage him to take part in activities. Thank you again for your time to review us.

Our daughter has been at Westwards for almost two years. The nursery is reasonably small, and staff turnover is very low. The team are lovely and have got to know her really well, show real interest in her progress, and are her biggest cheerleaders. They have been by our side for key milestones- developmentally;
walking, talking and potty training and personally; with the arrival of a new sibling and the mixed emotions this brings. They have showed care and consideration throughout and we feel very comfortable that she is safe, happy and supported as she progresses through pre-school.
Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolThank you for your review and kind words with regards to the team. Our staff are really dedicated to child development and track progress to ensure they are supporting all children. We feel our termly 'focus child' meetings are really beneficial as they provide parents the opportunity to review and discuss their child's development. Thank you for your feedback.

Our one year old began in Sunshine Room in April 2025, settling quickly. I felt supported as a mother sending a child to nursery for the first time. The practitioners in Sunshine Room have each shown an interest in our child's development. We feel they are known as an individual. Our child has struggled
with a recurring ear infection for a substantial time and nursery have reported instances of discomfort and administered medicine without fuss.

Activities seem varied during the day. Being close to the town centre means they take advantage of the park. Nursery have also hosted a number of events which parents or grandparents have been invited to. The cosy, laid back setting, alongside kind and nurturing practitioners, is what has led to us signing up our second child to join Westward's.

Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolThank you for taking the time to give us such a positive review. Our home from home environment creates a cosy, safe and nurturing space for children to thrive and develop. Our child centered approach ensures all children are treated as individuals and activities are based on their interests. Our experienced practitioners are experienced and always on hand to help and support parents and children. We thoroughly enjoy hosting events and building parents partnerships. Thank you again for your feedback.

Westwards have gone above and beyond for us since day 1. My son started in Sunshine room at 15 months and quickly settled in, now in Rainbow room he gets a great variety of activities and the staff are really good at focusing on his interests to build his development in all areas. All of this is communicated
well through the app, and the staff tell us what they have been doing each day at pick up. My son always looks forward to going and has the biggest smile at the end of the day. I'm really happy we chose this nursery, I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolThank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased that your son settled quickly as our staff team work hard to build strong attachments to ensure children feel safe, secure and happy. We work on building activities in each room by knowing children's interests and our approach to teaching is child focused, ensuring we are able to focus on areas of development that are individual. It is great to hear he is happy and we appreciate your positive feedback. Thank you.

Both of our sons, aged 3 and 4, have attended and continue to attend Westwards Nursery. We have firsthand experience with the Sunshine Room, Rainbow Room, and Pre-School, and we can confidently say that all three programs have offered our children remarkable experiences and a strong foundation in their
early years. The boys are consistently exposed to a wide variety of enriching activities and adventures. The entire team is exceptional, consistently providing a nurturing environment filled with love and kindness. We feel extremely fortunate to have Westwards Nursery as part of our lives and are genuinely grateful for the positive, engaging, and supportive atmosphere they create for our children. I wholeheartedly recommend this nursery.
Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolThank you for the absolutely lovely review! It has been such a pleasure watching the boys develop and progress through our rooms. We try very hard to offer a variety of experiences to the children and go out on adventures as much as possible. The staff team are all extremely hard working and dedicated to providing a high standard of care. We are so fortunate to have such passionate early years teachers in our team. Again thank you for the positive feedback!

My child has been attending since she was 9 months old, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The teachers are wonderful-genuinely caring and dedicated to the children's well-being. My daughter absolutely loves it and is always excited to go, eager to spend time with her teachers and friends.

She

particularly enjoys the outdoor learning opportunities, from walks in the local park to trips to the market, coffee shops, museums, and forest school. The staff create a rich learning environment through play and hands-on activities, such as observing tadpoles grow into frogs, making every day both fun and educational.
Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolThank you for taking the time to send us a lovely review. The staff team deliver such an exciting curriculum for our young learners and spend time ensuring all children are happily engaged throughout the day. Our visits and trips are such an integral part of our nursery ethos. Your feedback means so much to us, thank you.

Westwards Nursery School was an easy choice as my older child had attended when we moved him there just before he turned 3. He had such a fantastic time that I knew that it was the right setting for my youngest when I went back to work just before her 1st birthday. I can't emphasise enough how amazing
the ladies were at settling her in. They offered comfort and care and communicated so well with us to reassure us that she was absolutely fine.
This has continued in each room since.
They offer such a broad range of opportunities, from painting and cooking to forest school and bus trips to the park- incorporating socialisation, creativity, nurturing and fun! So many learning opportunities along the way, that most families would struggle to give their child every single day. Highly recommended nursery!
Reply from Seijal Odedra, Director at Westwards Nursery SchoolHow lovely to read your glowing review. Thank you for the positive feedback we really appreciate it. We are absolutely delighted with Westwards Nursery. Our son joined last year in the Sunshine room and since then he has developed so much thanks to the care and attention of the practitioners. They are very knowledgeable, kind, friendly and every day they organise activities for the little ones to get
involved. I like the update at pick up to learn how my son's day was, and the entries on the app to learn about his development. The room is always very clean and has a lovely homey feeling.

The team at Westwards are amazing and I honestly cannot compliment them enough.
My baby is still very little but 6 staff members in particular are so good with her. There are absolutely no tears at drop off and the biggest smiles at pick up.
She settled in very quickly thanks to the team and their
efforts.
Verbal communication is always very detailed and they are all just genuinely nice people.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.891) out of 10 for Westwards Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.891 for Westwards Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (214 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 239 Ratings = 4.891
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westwards Nursery School is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 number of registered child places is 8.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
