Overall Experience

I would highly recommend Thornhill Nursery. From the moment we joined, the whole team have been incredibly welcoming, friendly and supportive. It's clear to see how much effort they put into creating a safe, happy and caring environment.

A special mention has to go to Sahira, Tia, Sharna, Hollie, Aime and Jemma - and hopefully I haven't missed anyone out! They are all fantastic at what they do. They genuinely care about the children and are always friendly, approachable and happy to help.

Communication from the nursery is excellent. The staff always make time to speak to you and keep you updated. Seeing how happy and comfortable the children are around the team really says it all.

A massive thank you to everyone at Thornhill Nursery for all the hard work and care you put in every day. We're very grateful to have had such a brilliant nursery and a fantastic team looking after James and Shea.

Thornhill is an absolutely fantastic nursery, we have 2 boys in the nursery 5 days a week and they love it! All the staff are so incredibly friendly and welcoming and we trust them implicitly! Becky the manager is very readily contactable and so helpful with any queries I had with funding. We get thorough updates every single day with pictures on the app. The nursery organises loads of extra activities and events free of charge including potty training, readiness for school, Christmas party, preschool graduation, cycling lessons, music classes and baking. The girls in the baby and 1st steps room in particular Amy, Tia, holly and Sahira are just amazing and have supported my younger son so well in achieving milestones. The girls in the preschool room in particular sharna, are fantastic and have helped my older son so much in preparation for school, taught him to ride a 2 wheel bike and help him grow in confidence. Thornhill is a wonderful nursery. We were really nervous about leaving our little boy with anyone, so we viewed plenty of nurseries. Thornhill was by far the stand out nursery from our initial impressions. The staff seemed friendly, the atmosphere reassuring and the children all looked well looked after and happy.
6 months in I can truly say that choosing Thornhill was the best decision. It's now an hour round trip for us, and we still won't consider changing nurseries.
The staff including Becky (manager) and those in the First Steps room (Sahira, Hollie, Tia, Summer and Shamara) all go above and beyond on a daily basis.
It's wonderful seeing how nursery is helping to develop our little boys confidence. He's gone from a boy who cried at strangers to getting excited to go and play with his friends at nursery.

Allergies were also a big fear of mine after hearing other nursery horror stories. But even with 3 major allergies he came home today having made safe cupcakes!

I could not recommend Thornhill enough, my daughter absolutely loves it here. She has been going for the past year and has developed so much in that time, in all areas. As a late walker Sahira and Hollie could not have done anymore to help her progress with her being able to walk confidently and unaided. They are both incredible people, super kind, caring and fantastic at their jobs. My daughter regularly talks about them at weekends, and looks forward to seeing them and her friends. She also loves Tia from the baby room, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Becky the manager is great as well, always super helpful and reassuring.

Thornhill Day Nursery has been absolutely wonderful for our daughter, who is in the toddler room. Kiah and Misbah do an outstanding job caring for her and have created such a warm, nurturing environment. My son started Thornhill in Oct-25, joining the baby room. As a first time mum, I was anxious about leaving my son at a nursery, but the staff at Thornhill have been brilliant. My son took no time at all to settle in and absolutely loves being there! Even though he's only been there a couple of months now, I can tell he's already built up a bond with the staff and his development has come on loads. There's always different activities and they've got my son eating a wide variety of food. The staff who run the baby room are so lovely and do such a wonderful job. Our little one has been attending Thornhill since Feb 2025 and is absolutely thriving. She took a little while to settle when she first started but the staff were so patient and caring and gave her as many settling-in days as she needed. Now, many months later she loves it and I can see that her speech and other areas of development have come on leaps and bounds. We get updates and pictures every day which I love and she's always smiling and doing something new and exciting. All the activities provided definitely aid in her development and she always looks like shes having so much fun. The staff are so caring and I never worry when she's in their care. Staff are always quick to reply if I send a message on the app. My little one loves all the staff and even says all their names before bedtime. :) Thank you to everyone at Thornhill.

Our little girl started at the beginning of May 2025. We had numerous settle in sessions, all of which were worked around our lives as well as the baby rooms ratios.
Since our girl has started, she has loved every minute of being at nursery. She comes home each day, so so happy and we have already seen her progress with her development. She is much more aware of social surroundings, and has come on leaps and bounds with sitting independently.
The baby room staff are so lovely, and have really made us feel at ease with this new change. We couldn't be more pleased with the care they give our little one. The manager has also been super responsive to any questions we have had.

Thank you for taking the time to discover Thornhill Day Nursery. My name is Becky Renolds, and I am delighted to be the Nursery Manager here.

With over 16 years of experience in childcare, I bring a broad knowledge of the sector to my role. I hold a BA (Honours) degree in Childhood and Youth Studies, along with several other qualifications, including Level 3 certifications in Speech & Language Support and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
