I have used this nursery since December 2012 and have always been highly delighted with the care my children have received. Both my children have gained in confidence and ability as a direct result of their time in nursery. The nursery staff have always been supportive with anything that is happening
outside of nursery especially potty training and a new sibling. All the staff have a can do attitude and my children are always happy when I collect them. I intend to use the facilities of this nursery for after school and holiday cover when my children reach the appropriate age as I don't believe I can receive a better service elsewhere.

My son is 16 months old and has attended the nursery since he was 9 months old. He attends 2 days a week. My son is very happy at the nursery, he gets excited when we arrive and smiles for his key/co worker. As a mother this gives me such peace of mind. The facilities have always been clean, modern
and age appropriate and recently there has been a refurb in the baby suite, making it even more exciting for the children. Information sharing between workers and parents is also very good, meaning we feel up to date with our son's daily nursery life. The online 'ey' system is a great way for our child's development to be monitored and we can see this on a phone app, we can also add to it documenting his milestones. I cannot recommend the nursery enough.

Our daughter joined a different nursery ages just over two and a half. The staff, especially the girls in the Peter Rabbit room has been wonderful with her. Nothing I ask is too much trouble and they always have time to answer any queries or questions I may have, whether in person or on the the phone.
Her educational needs have been met really well for her age, learning is fun for her and we can see the progress she is making so clearly. I sincerely hope that this continues as she moves through into the early years room.

Our daughter started at Children's 1st at 6 months...all the staff within the baby unit made both our daughter and I feel extremely welcome and helped no end with the transition of her being at home to starting at full time nursery. Since starting she has absolutely blossomed and developed into a real
character, we believe this has a lot to the the quality of care she receives on a day to day basis. The sense of a family environment within Children's 1st at St Peter and St Paul's is fantastic and makes us feel at ease leaving our baby there all day. The Manager and her team are complete professionals and I would always recommend this nursery in a heart beat! Thank you.....

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.997)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.997) out of 10 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.991 for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.991
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.006 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 147 number of registered child places is 29.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 29.4 = 0.306
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
