Superb nursery, I've seen my little boy develop really well with the support of some superb staff. It must be said that the nursery has handled the pandemic brilliantly and we are really thankful to them for everything they have done in this difficult time. One happy Daddy.

Fantastic nursery! Both of my children settled very well and it’s all thanks to the amazing staff. Always welcoming and so kind to the children. Activities always seem fun and engaging and the forest school is an added bonus. Plenty of fresh air outdoors which my children love.

We love Footsteps Nursery & Forest School (Hawthorn). So much that we have moved quite far away and we refuse to move our son because of how fantastic it is. He has come on leaps and bounds since starting here at nine months old. The staff absolutely love him and offer him the opportunity to get messy,
explore different textures and learn. We cannot fault the staff and the setting is clean, light and inviting. If I could give a six-star rating I would!

Footsteps Hawthorn setting is fantastic - my daughter has the best time there, loves her key workers and all the staff. Her development is doing brilliantly under their care. She sleeps well and eats well and learns something new every day. The setting is organised very well, and the management team
are contactable, quick to respond and invest in the nursery and its future. We particularly love the slant of the natural material to the toys and activities, and the extra-curricular activities such as cooking club and forest school.

Our son was at this nursery from the age of one to four.
We were very impressed with the care given, the activities offered and our son’s development. The food was very good, security was good, communication from the office was good, and the Forest school space outside was excellent.
Staff went the
extra mile to offer little extras like gift bags containing little mementoes when they had their ‘graduation’ and takeaway evenings when parents could collect a complimentary takeaway made by the cook.
Staff seemed engaged with a genuine fondness and concern for the children.

The welcome the children receive at Footsteps Hawthorn sets the happy zone for the day. The smiling staff reassure the kids from the first minute and us as parents know our little boy is going to have a fun learning day. The forest school and outdoor space in general warrants a special mention.

Footsteps in Hawthorn has been a brilliant nursery ever since our daughter started with them in September 2019. It really came into it's own at the start of the COVID-19 lockdown. They were well organised, communication was excellent and knowing we had somewhere safe to take our daughter whilst we worked
was a weight off our shoulders.
The staff created the safety needed for the situation but kept everything as 'normal' as possible for the little ones. Our little girl absolutely loved her experience at nursery during this time and has built a lovely relationship with her key worker. She's now grumpy when she has to come home!
The food is fantastic, and the activities/forest school are fun.

My son started at Footsteps when he was 6-months-old. The staff made both him and me feel welcome. He comes home happy, tired and calm. I particularly appreciate the daily reports and detail the staff put into explaining his day to me. I feel confident in their care when I drop him off every day. He
is 12-months now and continues to enjoy nursery every day.

I cannot recommend Footsteps Hawthorn enough, my daughter has been attending Footsteps since January 2018 and is only leaving in August 2020 to move to reception. My daughter has learned a lot, gained a lovely group of friends and created a lovely bond with the staff members. I would highly recommend
this nursery to any age of child.

Lichfield Hawthrones is a fantastic nursery! My child attended here since he was 11 months old. The nursery is such an exciting and engaging environment for the children. The variety of activities and resources they have available is invaluable to the development of the children. The outside space is
huge and offers so many different aspects and learning/play opportunities. We love the forest school. The real highlight though is the staff, caring and considerate from day one. Everyone is so helpful and enthusiastic and genuinely so friendly. The support we have received from every stage of my little boy's time here has been amazing. The girls have encouraged and nurtured him so much and his confidence has skyrocketed. The manager is fantastic and clearly has a passion for what she does. We will be really sorry to leave when my little boy goes to school in September.

Footsteps Lichfield has been nothing short of brilliant especially during this period of lockdown. The manager and her team and do their utmost to keep everyone safe and have done it with smiles and compassion. My son is fond of so many staff. His favourite changes daily but this just tells me he loves
them all.
My little one has loved Rising 3's and can’t wait to move into the big boy room (pre-school). There is never anything that’s been too much trouble, my son's diet/allergies, medication and creams required. They have really cared for him and I’m forever singing their praises to new parents looking for a nursery setting. Most definitely recommend Footsteps.

This nursery is absolutely fantastic. Everything about it from the wonderful staff to the forest school and facilities are truly excellent. We moved from Sutton Coldfield to Lichfield and had to settle my two-year-old son into a new nursery which I was initially worried about but as soon as we saw the
setting we were super impressed. We visited most in Lichfield but this was definitely the best. The staff were great at helping him settle in and he has really blossomed in the short time he has been there. The staff are thorough, professional and you know your children are in safe and more than competent hands. Each room has set activities and structures and messy play is set up before the children even have breakfast. I could not recommend this place more highly! A wonderful start to life for any child.

Both my children have loved attending Footsteps ‘Hawthorn’. Their learning and social skills have developed immensely. All the staff have made both my children feel incredibly welcome and eased my worrying - especially if they’ve attended nursery upset.
There are regular updates through the app.

My daughter has been going to Footsteps since she was 7 months old. She settled in immediately and the care she received from the outset was outstanding. As a nursing mother, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable at drop off and pickups in order to feed her.
The staff are incredibly caring and
form fantastic relationships with the children. Activities are engaging and allow for individual development. The learning book is a wonderful asset as you can see regular updates including videos and pictures as well as the early years assessment. It's wonderful to be able to look back and see my daughter's journey.
The setting is brilliant and the onsite forest school is a massive positive. Children are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors space in all weathers and thoroughly enjoy it.
The management has been incredibly helpful over the last 3 years and will always go above and beyond. Our daughter has been incredibly happy at Footsteps and I can't wait for our son to start in September.

When my kids started the nursery last year in September, they had no clue about the English language but the girls really helped them to learn a lot. Everyone at Footsteps is amazing and the kids just love to go there and they are so happy.

Footsteps Nursery Lichfield look after our grandchildren in the most caring way any nursery could. We dropped them off periodically where they always enjoyed going in and always had smiles when they came out. All the staff were very attentive and caring. Both granddaughters are starting nursery and
school in September and we know by attending this nursery it has put them both in good stead for their hopefully bright future.

Absolutely faultless caring throughout all the years at nursery. Our son has fabulous relationships with all his nursery teachers and is a very confident, well mannered and happy little boy. Cannot recommend 'Hawthorn' enough to anyone looking for a safe and fun environment for their children.

Hello, my name is Becky, and I have been working in the early years since 1996. I have been a Nursery Manager since 2014 and joined Footsteps in 2017.


I am level 5 qualified in early childhood and level 3 forest school.


I am passionate about the outdoors and believe that outdoor environments are essential to a child’s learning and development.


Our nursery offers activities, experiences, and opportunities for children to thrive, and our dedicated staff team cater for each child’s individual needs.

Hi, I’m Sophie the Deputy Manager here at Lichfield Nursery. I have worked for the company since 2017.


When I started working here at Lichfield Nursery, I was employed as a level 2 qualified nursery nurse, however, over the years I have developed my professional career within the company.


I have worked my way up to become a level 3 qualified nursery nurse, level 3 SENCO officer and Deputy Manager.


I am very dedicated to my job; I have a strong passion for planning challenging activities daily and watching children thrive in their learning and development.
