Footsteps Lichfield Nursery & Pre-School

We couldn't be happier with the care and support our children received at Footsteps nursery. Both of our children thrived during their time there, were always well looked after, and genuinely enjoyed attending. The staff created a warm, nurturing environment where they learned so much and developed in confidence. We're incredibly grateful for the positive impact the nursery has had on their early years.

Fantastic experience of Footsteps nursery Lichfield. Extremely friendly and supportive staff that have helped my child to thrive. The extra curricular activities have been great. My child loves the French and Forest schools.

My daughter has had a wonderful time at Footsteps in Lichfield. She will be very sad to leave. She has learnt so much over the years at the nursery and has come on leaps and bounds with her development. My daughter is fairly shy with others, but has very much come out of her shell at nursery with all their support she has been given. Every day we pick her up, she is full of smiles. The staff are fantastic and go out of their way to support the children. I feel that I can approach any staff member with a query and it will be listened too. Thank you also to the management team who excel in clear communication to parents and putting on lots of opportunities for parent engagement. We just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff who have made our daughter's start to education so wonderful!

I'm genuinely thrilled that she attends this nursery-it's been such a positive experience for both of us. Highly recommend!

Our son started this nursery 6 weeks ago, having left another (non footsteps) nursery that he attended for 2 years. Our son is a completely different child since he started with footsteps Lichfield. He is more confident and most importantly happier. His attention skills have improved and he is happy and engaged in activities when we pick him up at the end of the day (rather than previously stood by the door, on his own, looking upset). We are very glad we made the decision for our son to get a new start, what a difference it's making already to his quality of life, confidence and learning journey.

Footsteps are great at coming up with engaging, fun, learning opportunities for the children, based on themes, such as Christmas, birthdays and other cultural events. Our little boy enjoys nursery and has learnt a lot. His communication has really improved.

Our daughter loved all of her 4 years at Footsteps Lichfield, and so did we. She settled so well in each room and thrived in the kindness, nurture and care that the staff provide. She has particularly grown in confidence in pre-school and is really excited to start school. I've always been confident the staff have had my daughter's best interests at heart and helped her grow and develop into the girl she is now. We feel so lucky that she has had this wonderful start in life, and want to say a huge thank you to all of the staff for the part they have played in it.

My eldest daughter has attended the nursery since September 2024 starting in the baby room, she used to cry a lot in the beginning but then she formed a lovely bond with her key worker and then my daughter was so excited to go to nursery. The activities they do, the toys available and just the staff are incredible. I love the outdoor space available and the room layouts. Nothing is ever too silly to ask admin wise, I was struggling to understand some funding (baby brain was taking full effect) and the staff couldn't be more helpful and didn't make me feel silly for asking at all. There's such a personal touch within the nursery, all the staff members know the children and parents. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my children. My youngest daughter also starts in August and I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone and everyone!

My son has been at Footsteps Lichfield since he was 9 months old and is leaving shortly to go to Primary School. This has been such a great place for him, and I only have positive things to say about the staff and the setting. He's learnt so much and comes home having learnt something new each week, and has grown so much in confidence. The staff have always been friendly and approachable, and he has loved being part of the nursery.

My daughter has flourished at this nursery. They are breastfeeding friendly, have a wonderful menu, interesting clubs, a varied curriculum, a fantastic array of toys for all interests, support additional ways of communication such as Makaton, great outdoor spaces with forest school, friendly and approachable staff, great feedback at the end of each day, flexible and supportive management. They encourage child led play and allow the children to choose their key workers by seeing who they connect with more. They take an interest in the family and have been so supportive at last minute changes or difficulties.

Both of my children have attended Footsteps on Lichfield and have both loved it! We have been extremely happy with the level of care given, the activities, meals, everything! All staff have made an effort to ensure have been well looked after and in times when they have been upset they know just how to help! I would recommend to anyone.

We have loved every minute at Lichfield Footsteps - the staff have been wonderful and our child has been nurtured and developed, making lasting friendships. We feel that this nursery really cares for their children and goes the extra mile to provide sessions like French class, cooking class and music for them too. Thank you!

From the moment we walk in, it's a place where my daughter is truly known, cared for, and nurtured like one of their own. The staff are incredible. They know my daughter so well - her personality, her preferences, and even the little things that make her smile. It's obvious how much they care, and that genuine attention and love shines through in everything they do. I never feel like she's just another child in the room; she is valued and celebrated for who she is. There is always something fun and creative going on. I'm constantly amazed at how much thought and variety goes into their planning, and my daughter comes home happy, tired, and full of stories about her day. What has meant the most to us is the support we've received through big milestones. From potty training to encouraging her speech and language development, the team has been there every step of the way - offering consistency, encouragement, and expert guidance that's made a real difference in her progress.

I bring my daughter and all the staff and everyone there they are very nice. They're looking after the children. very good and I'm very happy to see my daughter is very happy, thank you for everything.

This review is for all of the months since Sept 24 that my children have attended Footsteps. I can only sing the praises of the staff in every classroom, the management team, the key workers of my children - everyone is so lovely, helpful and friendly. My children absolutely love coming to nursery, we never have tears at drop off time - they have so much fun doing all of the activities, making friends and playing outside. As a single working parent it gives me so much peace to know my children are truly cared for and happy, during the hours I am away from them. I don't have to worry about them at all as I trust they are in brilliant hands and having a wonderful time. They have bonded to the staff at the nursery, even staff who aren't in their classrooms, which is wonderful. They even love the food (mostly!) which is astonishing seeing as I get a fair amount of toddler fussiness at home!! I am so very grateful to the whole of the Footsteps team, and can't thank them enough.

Very caring staff who enjoy their jobs which makes it a lovely environment for my babies. A lot of the staff are still there from when my daughter went to nursery 3 years ago which says a lot. Babies always doing interactive fun stuff, varied diet and they go outside lots. When my babies are sad when I drop off they cuddle them which is really important to me too. Lovely place.

My son started at Footsteps Lichfield in January in the baby room. I found the first few weeks leaving him very difficult but all of the practitioners were always so lovely and made me feel reassured. He is quite settled now and seems to have built lovely connections with the ladies in his room and especially his key worker. Drop off and pick ups never feel rushed and the practitioners are always keen to hear how my son is that morning and also to update me on what he's been up to that day. They do lots of activities such as going outside, messy play, arts and crafts and jo jingles which my son really enjoys. We are always kept updated by the nursery too via the app with meals, nappies and sleep times too. Overall I am really happy with the nursery.

Nursery staff are fantastic. Opening hours are excellent. Friendships are encouraged and fostered well. My child always comes home happy.

The only negative is that the pricing and billing structure is unclear. Bills are not itemised and we have in the past been billed incorrectly which has been difficult to identify.

Footsteps are a fantastic nursery. My son has additional needs and they handle these beautifully and with grace and kindness and most of all patience. I couldn't recommend Footsteps Lichfield enough! The staff are absolutely outstanding.
