Footsteps Canwell Nursery & Pre-School is a beautiful 'home from home' nursery, rated Good by Ofsted (August 2022), and is full of character and charm.

The nursery offers a broad range of activities for children to explore and expand their natural curiosity and learn through play. Children are allowed to grow and develop at their own pace in the safe and stimulating environment.

As well as the thoughtfully planned inside areas, a large outdoor area is available for children of all ages to explore and experience the natural world, and Forest School is a key part of a child’s day at Footsteps.

Great care, great activities and the staff have a great attitude. They really care about the children and always provide a variety of different tasks and games to aid development. Heartily recommend this nursery.

My son is extremely happy at Footsteps Nursery. The staff have time to get to know all the children and he feels comfortable with all staff members. I have been impressed with the confidence and independence that he has developed whilst at nursery. Staff consistently feed back to me after every session
and appear interested in my sons life outside of nursery. This gives me confidence that they care for his general welfare. The food is consistently good and the children's behaviour is impressive. I am very happy with this nursery.

We're both so pleased that we sent our baby daughter to Footsteps. The kids do loads of fun activities, that engage and build confidence. The 'Forest School' was an area that appealed, with outdoor wildlife to feed, such as chickens. Staff genuinely care for our little girl and that means a lot. She
is excited to go and has a great connection with staff. I highly recommend Footsteps Canwell. P.s. - food is freshly made, salt free and very healthy/tasty.

Brilliant nursery! Staff are very friendly, food cooked on site and range of engaging activities. I'm very pleased with how well my daughter has settled into nursery. I would highly recommend footsteps!

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2020

I am the very proud manager of Footsteps Canwell.


I absolutely love my role here at Footsteps as Canwell is a quirky little building with a warm, home from home feel.
The team work closely together and no room is far from the other so children flow in transition between stages of the nursery as they grow and develop.


I am lucky enough to work with some of the most kind and caring practitioners who are all so passionate about their roles and the important work we do.
On site we have our own Forest School which opens up a wealth of opportunities for children to explore the wonders of the outdoor world.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2019

I am the Deputy Manager here at Footsteps Canwell, I been working for Footsteps since June 2019 where I began as an apprentice.
In 2021 I progressed to a room senior in the Baby room before transitioning into Rising 3’s where I previously had lots of experience.
I am versatile and adapt well with all age groups which I consider a huge strength of mine.


I truly love working within the childcare sector and giving our children the best start to life by sparking excitement and learning into their nursery days.
