Busy Bees St Matthews nursery is a bright and beautiful converted church located in Burntwood, which provides a warm and welcoming environment that gives children everything they need to grow, develop, and prepare for school.

Busy Bees St Matthews has been nothing short of amazing.
The transition from being on maternity to going back to work and leaving my daughter in their hands has been so easy and I feel so comfortable leaving her with them.
The room manager when my daughter first joined the nursery was incredible,
she took my daughter under her wing and nothing was ever too much trouble for her. She has since gone on adoption leave herself but every other person who has looked after my daughter has been amazing. I really can not fault anything about this nursery. I can't wait to see my baby grow up within the care of this nursery.

We looked at a lot of nurseries before choosing Busy Bees and it blew us away from the visit. As teachers ourselves, we know the time and effort that goes into what the practitioners do on a daily basis. It was really difficult leaving our daughter in someone else’s care for the first time at 11 months
but she has thrived and we know she is safe and well cared for. We really love the natural resources in the classrooms and the themed topics and crafts! When our little girl has had struggles with transitions to new rooms or sleep, we have found that the practitioners go above and beyond to support her with this.

Busy Bees St Matthews is an amazing nursery and early years learning centre for my daughter who is now 20-months old. Due to my partner having to return to work earlier than expected, our child has been at this nursery since 4-months old. Since then, Busy Bees St Matthews has excelled in every aspect
of our child’s development. She has gained confidence in her speech, interaction with others, physical activities, willingness to try different foods and general learning. Such as, identifying different shapes, colours, animals, nursery rhymes, numbers and the alphabet. I am extremely grateful to the staff of Busy Bees St Matthews for all their hard work so far and I would definitely be recommending this centre to other parents.

Our daughter has been attending Busy Bees since November, she was 20 months when she started and she loved it. She was nervous and tearful the first couple of times but she soon settled and now runs in and doesn’t seem to want to come home. From the moment we were shown around we knew this was the place
for our daughter. All the staff are so friendly and really helped the induction process, supporting us as well as our daughter. I love the app where we receive updates throughout the day, this really gives me peace of mind when we are at work. This was the best decision we made for our daughter as she has grown in confidence as well as seeming to love being there.

My twin girls have been attending Busy Bees at St Matthews for over 2 years and they absolutely love it there! All of the staff are amazing and have helped us through every milestone of the girls' lives so far. I have never had any concerns or issues with the care my girls receive there and I wouldn't
want them to go anywhere else.

This nursery is absolutely amazing, both my girls have gone here and they have learnt so much in that time. The staff are so friendly and will help you and your child with whatever you need. It’s taken my youngest a long time to settle in but the staff have always been amazing with her and helped her

I cannot praise the staff enough. Always so friendly and helpful and genuinely care about my daughter's development and wellbeing.
During these tough times, all the staff have worked so hard to ensure that the children have stayed safe and still had lots of fun every day.

Busy Bees always go above and beyond in the care and education for my two and three-year-olds. As an adoptive parent, the staff at Busy Bees have always worked alongside us in how we talk to our children about their life stories and support their overall development. We relish that we have always been
able to speak collaboratively with the nursery team about any additional support that our children may need at any given time. Our experience of the re-opening and reintroducing our children to their nursery routine after lockdown has been an extremely positive one. Our daughter and son thoroughly enjoy their days at nursery, their reintroduction has been a very smooth one. That is in recognition of the fantastic job that all the team at Busy Bees Burntwood do every day. Thank you!

My daughter has attended this nursery for approximately a year and a half. Throughout her time at the nursery we have found all of the staff to be welcoming, enthusiastic and accommodating. Our daughter is confident and happy when she is in the care of the nursery and we regularly receive very detailed
reports about her development via the parenting app. We are really pleased with the care that she receives at Busy Bees Burntwood.

Both my daughters attend the nursery and we have been coming here for 3 years now. I wouldn't trust another nursery to look after my girls.

We cannot fault Busy Bees during our son's first year at nursery.
From day 1, the process has been really slick, this is from the set up to the staff.
Security is excellent and we know our son is always safe.
The dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm is a daily standard of all staff and we receive
a full report of our son's day.
Staff appear to thoroughly enjoy their jobs and always make time to answer any questions. We cannot recommend Busy Bees at St Matthews enough to other parents.

The nursery itself is modern and spacious and has plenty of rooms and space for all the children to manoeuvre and play. The garden is a fantastic area and is split into sections so it can be used by multiple groups of children and socatots classes. The most endearing thing is how staff and management
treat everyone (parents and children). We are treated as part of the Busy Bees family and have struck up some fantastic relationships. All in all, the staff are very supportive with any issues (ie., behaviour) and to me as a parent who just needs some advice once in a while!

We would like to personally thank First Steps 1 for all of their hard work with our daughter. It took her a while to settle in but their patience and understanding with her was fantastic. We're so happy knowing she is in great hands each time we drop her off. The app is fantastic - I love each time
a photo is uploaded and you can get an insight into their day at nursery. We think all the staff are so welcoming and friendly that it creates such a safe and warm environment for the children.

My little boy has been going to the nursery since he was 12 months old. He is now 18 months. His development has come on in leaps and bounds. The staff are fantastic.


The dedication that they give the children is phenomenal. He comes home every day having experienced something new. Whether it be

through singing, dancing or messy play.


Would highly recommend the nursery in regards to flexibility with being a shift worker and the communication is great.

Hello, I’m Sonia I am currently the Centre Director here at Burntwood. I have been in the childcare industry for 17 years and gained both my BTEC National Diploma Level 3 and a Foundation Degree in Early Years along the way.


I have worked for Busy Bees since 2010 and I have been in a variety of roles across all of the different rooms. I have worked my way up to my current position gaining valuable experience along the way. I have 2 small children who both attend Busy Bees which has supported them with their learning and development along the way.


We treat all children as unique and build outstanding relationships with our families, helping the children to feel safe and secure. I will continue to support the team at Burntwood to ensure we provide the best possible care for the children, ensuring the best possible start in life.

Hello, my name is Sarah. I gained my CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education at college. I then went on to begin working in a nursery. When starting my career in childcare I worked as a support staff member, covering staff holidays and absences. I then gained a permanent position within the nursery. Over the years I have worked my way up through different roles to the position I am in today. During my time managing a nursery before joining Busy Bees, I decided to take on a new challenge and completed my Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies around my working hours. 


I have worked with Busy Bees since 2015 when I took on my role as Assistant Centre Director. I have supported the team through the years and have worked within many of the rooms alongside the staff. I had a short break in my time at Busy Bees to have my son. Upon my return, my son began nursery and is flourishing from his time here.
