My son has settled in very quickly! The staff are lovely, friendly and really professional. They are always at the door on time, which is important when you need to go to work.
They are always happy to see him and keep me up to date on his progress at the nursery.
Overall, really happy with the nursery.

I have had 3 children at Smiley's Creche so we have been here since 2016! From day 1 they made us feel part of the Nursery/Family, and they have given the children a wonderful environment to learn. The staff are so supportive, even with additional needs identified for my daughter they were so happy
to put additional help in place to ensure she had a smooth start and she continues to thrive in every room she has been to. The staff genuinely care for the children, they know everyone by name and are so welcoming in the mornings my little girl dances in with such happiness. There is no real staff turn over most have been here for years and love to care for the children. The ethos of the nursery is nature-based, with wooden toys, lots of outdoor activities, and room for children to grow and explore. There is a little library too to encourage reading with soft quiet areas. There is so much flexibility and I recommend this nursery to all my friends, so trustworthy.

Smileys are more than just a care provider, Smileys are a welcoming family. The manager and her team always go above and beyond, providing outstanding care and learning experiences for my little one.
This is reflected in the conversations I have with my little one who often talks about the ladies
who care for him and the wonderful experiences he has had.

Our daughter has been at Smiley’s since she was 1 (she’s now 3) and absolutely loves it. She is so excited for nursery days and happily skips in. She has lots of fun there and is absolutely thriving. The staff always greet us with a big smile and have a great level of professionalism and care. They
know the children so well and embrace their individual characters (ours is quite a strong one). They give you a full rundown of the day when you pick them up and are never in a rush for us to go. They are really supportive of different stages such as potty training or a new sibling coming along and gave us lots of valuable tips. We use reusable nappies and although they weren’t used to them they were happy to use them at nursery with support. We love the nature-based ethos of the nursery with the wooden toys and lots of outdoor play. The management is professional, present and passionate about looking after and developing children. Our second daughter starts soon, we can’t wait.

I have used Smileys Nursery for two of my children over the last four years now. I absolutely love all the staff that work here. I feel that they always listen to me and take on board any requests that I have. During the settling-in period, I rang multiple times just to check that my son was ok. They
always reassured me and never made me feel silly for ringing. My experience of all the other rooms has been great during the time my eldest attended. I would recommend this nursery to all of my friends. The girls are kind, caring and considerate, and I love the flexibility within the nursery. The girls make me and my partner feel like our children are genuinely loved. My youngest loves going to Smileys Nursery, and my eldest loves to pop back in to visit the girls!

All three of my grandchildren have attended Smileys and have thoroughly enjoyed their time there, two of them currently still attending. The staff are always pleasant, engaging and welcoming to the children and have formed really excellent relationships with them. I have been involved with drop-offs
and pick-ups on a regular basis, so have seen at first-hand how the staff interact with all of the children there and I have always been made to feel very welcome.
All the staff are very aware of each of my grandchildren’s emotional needs and their individual characters and bring out the best in them all. It always feels like a happy place and I have always been confident that they are being well looked after.

I can't thank or recommend Smileys enough. With very little notice they were able to provide a pre-school space for my son, after a huge circumstance change. They were and still are extremely accommodating, especially as my son was very anxious about going to pre-school and would get separation anxiety.
With all the perseverance and brilliant communication, he now loves pre-school. The whole team are extremely supportive and dedicated to helping all the children develop, which I have definitely noticed in my son as his confidence, speech, comprehension and numeracy skills have vastly improved since starting at Smileys.

Smileys is a fantastic nursery! Both of my children attended from 2018 up until 2023.
The staff at Smileys are amazing and passionate about supporting the children and nurturing them to reach their full potential.
Since leaving nursery, my children are thriving at school with their new adventure
and I believe that is down to the nursery supporting them and helping them to grow. The foundation that Smileys has put in place shows tenfold with how well my children have learnt from their phonics and reading skills down to their zest for play and learning, their imagination shines through.
Thank you to everyone at Smileys for building my children's foundation to succeed from baby room right through to preschool room and everyone in between.

My children have attended Smileys for the last eight years now and honestly, they’ve been like a second family! The ladies treat every child like their own and have given them such a head start before attending first school. Plenty on the premises for the children to learn from. Would recommend this

My son went to Smileys Nursery from 3 years old until he started school last year. We loved it as soon as we went to see it, especially the huge effort they make with keeping toys wooden rather than plastic and teaching the children things like recycling.
The absolute best thing about this nursery
is the staff. Once we got to know them, it was like leaving my son with a friend on drop-off. They are such a lovely, caring and very experienced bunch of staff. I would recommend them to anyone!

I would like to say Smileys Nursery has been absolutely amazing for our little boy. They have been incredibly supportive and informative, integrating our baby into nursery.
I, as a mum, found it difficult parting with my baby and having to return to work. However, the nursery has been so welcoming
and supportive to both me and our son's dad.
They give you time to explain everything and take on board any changes in naps and feeding. They have helped our little boy come on so much, especially with his eating and crawling.
We are forever grateful, we cannot thank you all enough. We trust you wholeheartedly with our pride and joy.

Could not be happier with Smileys! All of the staff are incredible, you can really tell they care about the children and their development.
Our daughter was offered settling-in sessions which helped with the transition of her starting properly.
The baby room is wonderful, so many things for the children
to play with which encourages learning new skills. At the end of each day the staff give us a form which breaks down our daughter's day so we are kept fully informed of everything she has done. Our daughter is always happy and smiling on pick up so we know she enjoys going and is looked after amazingly.

My son started in the toddler room and he has developed very well. He sits and eats his dinner independently. The teachers have done a wonderful job with him. His social skills have developed extremely well, he interacts with other children and adults. He has warmed to the preschool room and enjoys
it very much. I would like to see more potty training offered to the children to get them ready for school.

I started using the nursery in 2020 and it was the best decision ever. The staff at Smileys feel like aunties looking after my boys.
The service they provide is outstanding you can book according to your shift pattern. They had a challenging time with the building works which disrupted parents dropping
kids off but the manager was like a swan gliding effortlessly navigating through the challenges. With any new changes, there are always teething problems. The current management has brought in new ideas. Some might be questionable and l do hope they are considering the wellbeing of the staff when increasing capacity in the nursery as the rooms are still the same size and the impact it will have on the children packed in like sardines.

We've been with Smileys since our son was 6 months old. He's now 2 and a 1/2 and thriving well in the toddler room. He settled well and has always been excited to go in and play. My wife and I put this down to the amazing and friendly staff at the nursery. They always made us feel like we're part of
an extended family and nothing was ever too much for them. I struggle with anxiety, so starting our nursery journey was such a big deal for me. I've stressed through every big change we have had to face during our boy's first few years. But Smileys have supported us all the way. Their transition process was smoothly ran, with the two rooms showing great communication with one another. Our boy moved up with one of the staff that cared for him within the baby room during his initial settling-in. After which, he attended a couple more on his own. Both rooms have listened to all my reservations and fears, along the way and always made sure we were happy with his care. We couldn't ask for a better nursery!

My child loves going to nursery! The staff are always friendly and do a great job with making each day enjoyable.
There are so many different areas for them to learn and explore, the child often comes home talking about their day and all their friends they have played with.

My son absolutely loves going to preschool four days a week. The girls are amazing and have been amazing with my son since joining the toddler room. We get regular updates on progression along with daily updates when I collect him. He loves exploring in the garden and is slowly trying to do more activities
inside. His confidence has grown so much, especially understanding that not all children are the same as him and like to be slightly more gentle, than rough and tumble. I would certainly recommend this nursery to anyone.

Having heard such positive comments about Smileys Nursery from friends and family, I knew it was a nursery I wanted to view for my son, from the first viewing I had about a year ago, I knew I wanted him on the waiting list to start September 2023. Settling in was tough for my son, but with the caring
nature of all the staff members and the lovely environment, my son has settled better than I could have imagined and now dropping him off fills me with confidence as he goes in super happy and will happily wonder off with any of the ladies who come to the door. Smileys have been really accommodating with my son, that I couldn't image him going anywhere else and I will be sad when he leaves for school! I love that the preschool room is spacious, with enough areas for all the children to explore. There are plenty of toys and resources for the children to play with and for their imaginations to run wild! The outdoor space is great too with different areas for exploration. My son is very happy here!

I'm very happy with the service provided by the nursery. My child (as was a previous child who attended) is very happy with all aspects of her experience there, and the staff are outstanding.
Management seemed to cope well without the main manager, but now she's back, they'll have a captain with a
steady hard on the letter yet again.
The good options have gone a bit ropey on some days, but that's the hospital's fault.
Overall, a brilliant childcare facility with consistent staff who focus on personal development alongside education, the latter of which they don't have to do, but do anyway. Bravo all!

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
