Sandhills Day Nursery Barnt Green embraces a uniquely home from home feel. Situated in a converted house, the nursery provides 5 rooms and access to 3 outdoor spaces, giving children plenty of space and opportunity to learn and develop.

Its small size is what makes Barnt Green truly unique. The intimate setting allows each of the nursery teams to know all the children and families personally, giving the nursery a really welcoming, family feel; whilst the children are able to socialise with all age groups giving them the change to further develop their social skills and confidence.

Promoting healthy practices is at the core of the nursery, with children participating in activities which aid a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy meals and doing regular exercise. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

Outdoor learning plays a key role in the nursery and children will often be outside exploring all that the outdoor spaces have to offer, come rain or shine!

Fantastic nursery. The staff go above and beyond daily to bring the best out in my daughter and tailor 1:1 activities to her needs. All of the staff seem generally happy and appear to enjoy their jobs. They come up with some really creative ideas and activities for the children to do.

I cannot begin to explain what a relief it is to drop our children in an environment that we feel 100% comfortable with.


Children are treated with the respect, interest and care that I would expect. They plan exceptional educational activities that have a process map, beginning, middle and end and

will often cover literacy, numeracy, PSE and creative development within one topic cross all rooms. They have a sensible illness policy for children which is also a relief. Each of the rooms is joyful. The staff here really do care, that in itself is priceless.


It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is about the setting, however, I believe the staff are excellent, it’s a welcoming environment with clear boundaries and exceptional age specific activities.


I adore that it’s a converted house. It’s a joy to pick the girls up from the garden, where they are always being engaged with or playing together, this nursery feels like a home. A true testimony to the amazing work they do.

Our experience of the Sandhill Nursery has been fantastic and we would definitely recommend to others.

Our son has been at the nursery for almost a year and I feel he has come along very far in the time he has been there. The food provided is varied and nutritious and the Eylog used is great for keeping track of his progress. The staff members are fantastic and they have built a great relationship with

Our child has been attending Sandhills for two days a week since January 2016. It is a safe and comfortable environment for little ones, with staff who are caring, friendly and approachable. I'm amazed at how much attention to detail goes into the care of the children - especially given how chaotic
a busy nursery environment can be. The children's days are packed with fun, creative and educational activities, often with play outside in the garden or walks around the local area. Every day, there is something new to do. Staff at Sandhills were a great help with some of our toddler's key development steps - especially toilet training - as they had the skill and the confidence to recognise when he was ready and encourage him (and us!) every step of the way.

Sandhills in Barnt Green is a very genuine, warm and welcoming nursery. The staff are fantastic, extremely caring and flexible and their priorities are the children's well-being and happiness. Activities are varied and stretch the children's development, although I would like to hear of more outside
time for the young ones but I understand it is not always easy this time of year. My son now is well settled in and enjoys toddling up to their front door on nursery days and I have no concerns about leaving him, in their capable hands whilst I go to work.

Overall I'm very happy with everything. Fun staff, lots of effort put into themes and activities. My only reservations are with cleanliness - the nursery has a 'nappy' smell and doesn't, within reason, seem as clean as I'd like.

My son has been attending the nursery for 2 years and 4 months, since he was 10 months old. He has always been very happy there, feels comfortable with the staff and enjoys the activities.
As a parent, I like the fact the nursery is small, so all the staff know all the children and the kids get to
occasionally interact with those older and younger than themselves.
Activities are varied including daily outdoor play and music classes (at an additional cost).

After searching for weeks for a nursery I came across Sandhills Nursery in Barnt Green. I am so happy I did as my daughter whom I have never left with anyone, settled in so well because of the patience and care from the staff there. I can go off and leave her knowing she is getting the best care and
most of all, she is very happy in her surroundings. She has come on leaps and bounds since starting there with her walking and talking as they teach them things I wouldn't do at home.

The friendliness of the staff at Sandhills makes it a really warm, caring place where the children thrive. My daughter settled in very quickly and has developed a strong bond with her caregivers. I feel very happy that she is being looked after extremely well and being given lots of attention.

My daughter has been at Barnt Green since she was 2. She started as a very shy, clingy little girl but the staff helped her grow and she has learnt so much and I have the staff to thank.
The nursery is excellent but the staff are brilliant they really care and I feel very comfortable with all of them.
They have always listened and had patience and generally really do care about the child's well-being. My daughter is a very caring and loving little lady with an excellent sense of humour and I thank Barnt Green for bringing out all these qualities in her. The best nursery cannot fault a thing.
Excellent choice of snacks, activities and games, just faultless.
We love Barnt Green!

Our daughter continues to thrive at nursery, during her pre-school year. Her confidence is constantly increasing and she loves to socialise with her peers. I feel that Sandhills has prepared her so well for her school journey ahead. We are very happy with our daughter's learning; she has a sound grasp
of numbers and letters and constantly surprises us with her knowledge. We are very pleased with her care overall - the staff are attentive and kind, and responsive to our daughter's individual needs. We are confident of their ability to deal with her asthma in our absence. Sandhills provides an excellent balance between a homely environment and an environment conducive to learning.
