RGS The Grange is an outstanding private nursery and prep school and an exceptional place to start a child’s educational journey. It is full of happy, confident children who are clearly inspired by a dedicated and nurturing team of staff, sharing a wonderful sense of community.

Children can join RGS The Grange nursery from the age of two. This is a magical age and the staff ensure that a little touch of magic is present in their learning every day! The youngest pupils join ‘Ladybirds’, move onto ‘Caterpillars’ and then into ‘Butterflies’, before turning five years of age.

RGS The Grange work closely with parents to build up a comprehensive and satisfying record of every child’s progress and achievements as they move towards the early learning goals. Nursery children have the added benefit of belonging to a larger school community and the advantages this offers. The excellent facilities and expertise of teachers on site, provide children with opportunities to enjoy music, art, dance, sports and explore outdoors in the fabulous Forest School.

Nutritious cooked lunches are prepared on-site each day, ensuring children enjoy a healthy and well-balanced diet. The Nursery is open 7.45am to 6pm and provides flexible sessions Monday to Friday.

Funding & Fees

  • For Nursery and Pre-School, the full-time termly charge is £4,392 (VAT exempt), and for those not attending full-time, the daily charge is £82.00 (7.45 am – 6.00 pm).

  • We offer between 15 and 30 hours funding through the Government Scheme for children aged 2+ until the term in which they turn 5. This support will reflect the prevailing Government regulations and is subject to a minimum of two days per week.

Concerns - lack of car parking for small children - water logged carpark now closed and no information regarding replacement plans.
Lack of use of technology, as experienced in smaller settings, in relation to feedback on child eg use of say tapestry platform.
Change in use of day diaries understood
in terms of logic (time resource), but in reality, whiteboard hard to read in dark and absent parents unable to keep track of child's routine / experiences. When working full time (to pay the fees !) the day diary was an opportunity to feel connected when unable to be present. A small change but a big difference to those already feeling immense guilt of not being present at daily pick up or drop off. As noted above could be solved by use of technology potentially.

As a parent finding the right nursery/pre-school/school for my children was an absolute paramount, somewhere I would be happy knowing that they are safe and happy, and that is without question RGS The Grange.
My daughter started her RGS journey in nursery and is now in prep, my son also began his RGS
journey in nursery almost 18 months ago and loves every moment at The Grange.
The staff offer care, kindness and warmth to the children in a setting that is simply perfect. I am overwhelmed by the daily activities that the children undertake, the facilities both inside and outside are second to none. My children will always come home beaming with smiles and telling me about their day.
I couldn't be more happy knowing that my children are settled, happy and thriving in a wonderful school and would highly recommend The Grange to everyone.

Wonderful, light, airy and fun for your little one.
Different activities every day. My son always greats me with a beaming smile on his face and cannot wait to tell me about his day. He is learning so much and has come on leaps and bounds!

My granddaughter who is now 3 has been going to RGS The Grange for 18 months and absolutely loves it! She especially enjoys the music session. There are a wide variety of toys for all ages and she has developed her social skills by mixing with other children. Highly recommended.
