Cotton Tails Day Nursery provides private day care for children 0-5 years old. The nursery is open Mon – Fri, 7.30am - 6pm, 52 weeks of the year excluding bank holidays.

Cotton Tails has been rated OUTSTANDING in its last three Ofsted reports. Staff pride themselves on providing a caring and safe environment that treats every child as an individual, balancing play and learning and helping them to develop to their full potential.

Cotton Tails Nursery has been open since August 1996, originally a much smaller premises, but with the demand of the childcare sector Cotton Tails has grown over the past years. In January 2013, it opened its doors to a whole new wing, now complete with extensive bright and vibrant rooms having everything available for both child and nursery practitioner.

Cotton Tails is renowned for its close parent partnership making care a complete circle, with the child in the centre.

Cotton Tails is absolutely fantastic. All the staff clearly care deeply about the children.
They teach important values such as kindness and good manners. The activities are exciting and varied. Lots of physical activity is encouraged. My son is flourishing at Cotton Tails.

My daughter has been coming to Cotton Tails for nearly a year now. She has come on leaps and bounds. All the staff are fantastic. My daughter loves going to nursery. The facilities are fab. I highly recommend.

Extremely impressed with this nursery. They have looked after both my boys and I have been pleased with how well they have developed. Both of my girls come here - we absolutely love this nursery. The staff treat them both like family. Lots of activities - the animal man has just visited with lots of different animals for the children to meet, they have lots of things for parents to join in with e.g. pancake day. Wouldn’t hesitate
to recommend it.

Fantastic nursery with lovely friendly, caring and approachable staff. My child has always enjoyed coming to nursery and he has experienced such a wide variety of learning through such amazing activities that the staff have provided for the children.
The nursery is always clean and inviting and I couldn’t
ask for a better nursery for my son to attend.


My husband doesn’t always get a chance to drop off or collect my child but he still feels involved in the nursery as they provide so many events and workshops for parents which are amazing.


I can’t praise it enough.

My son attended this nursery from 2010 to 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed his time spent at Cotton Tails. As a family, we were so impressed with the care our son was given, that our daughter now attends Cotton Tails. The staff are very kind and caring towards children and very attentive to individuals
needs and requirements. The rooms are kept extremely clean and are nice, bright and spacious with plenty to keep the children occupied. The outside area is safe, with lots of things for the children to play with. Upon dropping my daughter to nursery or collecting her, I notice the children are always participating in different types of play such as messy play, sensory development etc.
Upon collection after a long day spent at nursery, my daughter always has a smile on her face and comes skipping to greet me. She happily shares her day with me and always look forward to her next day to be spent at nursery. Cotton Tails is an amazing nursery providing the best possible care for our little ones.

Cotton Tails at Northfield have gone above and beyond expectations with their Christmas open evening. We were welcomed into a transformed nursery. Everywhere you turned was Christmassy it was brilliant for all ages.
Lots of fun activities to take part in and all the staff were so enthusiastic, kind
and helpful and all dressed up.
We even received a reply from Santa a few days after posting our letter on the evening!

The one aspects that really sets Cottontails above others in the area, is the attentive and caring staff. The staff are an absolute asset to this setting. The setting itself is spacious, well equipped and extremely clean. My children have really developed their self-awareness and confidence whilst
attending, which helps with the big step up to school - I would highly recommend.

My daughter has attended Cotton Tails since she was one year old in Tiny rooms and is now in School Room. She loves the staff and feels comfortable with all of them. I think it is great the way that the Nursery make sure a member of staff moves rooms with the children each year so that they can continue
that relationship. Thanks to Cotton Tails my daughter has developed her social skills with other children and has really come out of her shell, she is a confident and bright and loves to learn.


My son has now also started in Cotton Tails Baby room and I can't wait to see how he progresses. I have recommended the nursery and a couple of my friends now take their children to the nursery too and are very happy there.

A great nursery, my daughter is very happy there. The staff are wonderful, very warm and caring, just what little ones need when they are away from their parent's all day. They are always coming up with new ideas for fun activities for the children too.

Michelle

Michelle Young

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2000

My name is Michelle Young, I am the manager at Cotton Tails Nursery. I have worked at Cotton Tails since June 2000 where I worked in the Pre-School room and then later worked in the Tinie Room which I thoroughly enjoyed.


I became the manager in 2009 which was a completely new role for me but I really enjoyed the challenge. During this time, I went on to complete my NVQ3 in Leadership and Management which has helped me in the role.


Over the years, I have grown to love my role as a manager, especially seeing all of the children grow and develop, then move on to big school.


One of my biggest aims as the manager was to maintain our OUTSTANDING Ofsted grade as it was my first Ofsted as a manager. This goal was achieved in March 2014 when we were rated OUTSTANDING for a second time. I am enjoying the challenge and enjoy working with a great team.
