Barney Lodge Nursery School

I am amazed at the range of experiences that they provide for the children i.e spa afternoon with calming music and cucumber on their eyes. All the children are happy and feel safe there. The staff are supportive of the whole family when disaster strikes. Wonderful place.

My daughter has been going to Barney Lodge since she was in the baby room and she is now in the toddler room. I could not recommend Barney Lodge enough. The staff are very caring and accommodating. My daughter is learning and is always happy to be there. It is a lovely nursery.

We have been very impressed with this nursery. Our son has attended since the age of one year. He has always been very happy here and has learnt so much. We feel the nursery has supported his development very well and they have great facilities. We receive regular updates on his progress and the staff are very supportive and approachable. This nursery has provided our son with a safe and happy environment to learn and develop.

My daughter has been at Barney Lodge since she was 14 months old. I believe being at Barney Lodge has helped develop her confidence, social skills and learning skills. She loves it at Barney Lodge and we will be very sad to leave as she starts big school this year.

My son has been at Barney Lodge Nursery School (in Hedgehogs) since the beginning of January. We were quite apprehensive about him starting nursery but he settled in so quickly and seems to be really happy. All the staff have been so friendly and supportive, and it's very apparent that they really care about the children. His key worker and all the other staff in Hedgehogs have done an amazing job of helping him settle in and keeping us updated on his development. They do so many different activities and have a huge outdoor area. My son always has a smile on his face at the end of the day and often doesn't want to leave! Thank you Barney Lodge for everything you do, and making us feel confident that our son is happy and well cared for whilst we're at work.

Our son loves being at nursery already and we are so excited to see his journey and growth with the team and his friends at Barney Lodge.

My daughter has recently joined Barney Lodge and was a very shy little girl but has really become confident and is learning so much. The staff are very friendly and lovely and have made my daughter feel so welcome and are also very supportive and helpful. I definitely recommend this nursery.

Barney Lodge has a welcoming home-from-home atmosphere. The key workers are dedicated and my child has been very happy in their care. Unfortunately, a lack of consistent management following a sudden Ofsted closure made it difficult to have enough trust to send my child anymore. I have no doubt that a manager who is there daily to take full ownership (rather than managing two nurseries at once) and someone who is able lead the team daily will be the only adjustment necessary to make it an outstanding and consistent nursery.

The staff at Barney Lodge are incredibly supportive and wonderful with the children. Facilities there are lovely and homely with so many interesting areas for the children to play, especially the huge gardens and woodland area. My son has been there for over a year and absolutely loves it. I cannot recommend the nursery more highly.

My daughter has been going to Barney Lodge since lockdown lifted and was her first proper interaction with other people and children. We were really nervous about her mixing with other babies and not having the social skills to cope with a huge change. The carers in her group have been absolutely fantastic in helping her adjust and learn new skills.

Thank you to all the ladies that work there not just in the Hedgehog Room but in the whole building who all work so well as a team to make it a safe, secure place for my daughter!

My daughter has thrived since joining Barney lodge earlier this year! The staff are incredibly caring and I love that the children are stimulated with activities so much outdoors- and have a lot of fun doing so! They are great at providing my daughter's updates and daily diary online too.

My little girl started at Barney Lodge only a few months ago, but she’s already developed so much and she always gets up to lots of fun activities. The staff are lovely they are happy to meet her dietary requirements and they were more than happy to help us with potty training etc… thanks Barney Lodge

Great outdoor space and great activities.

Overall, I am happy with the care that my children receive at Barney Lodge and my children seem to enjoy attending Barney Lodge.

My daughter has been at Barney Lodge Day Nursery for the last year. She has developed confidence, knowledge and life skills through play and discussion. During the COVID crisis, she still remained at the nursery as I was a key worker. They made sure that all the children were safe and she was always happy to be going. Staff are always friendly and helpful. My daughter starts school this year and we will be really sad to say goodbye to everyone. They helped to make sure she was prepared to start school the best they could during this crisis.

My son was with Barney Lodge for a year. Since starting he has grown so much. They have a lovely outdoor play area and woodland bit at the end of the garden. The staff are very friendly, helpful and communicate fully with me as a parent. I really enjoyed the app they used to give me daily updates on what my son had been up to, pictures and how he had eaten for the day. Meals were healthy and he enjoyed them all. He has recently left ready to start school, I would highly recommend them. In fact, a friend just had a look round and was so impressed her child will be starting very soon with them. Overall a fantastic nursery.

Both my daughters attend the nursery, and have done since they were 8 months old. It's a great nursery with great staff, my children have always come out smiling. Their outdoor space is amazing, and love seeing all the pictures sent through the app. It's also open from 7.30am, which is great for the working parents. Only downfall is it has a small car park, and can be tricky to park sometimes.

Barney Lodge is a wonderful nursery full of warm and smiley staff who all greet every child by name and enthusiasm and energy each and every day! They have looked after both my children from 1-4 and nurtured them wonderfully preparing them for starting school. The garden is huge and they have split it into lots of wonderful learning and play areas to cater for every outdoor need.
