Barney Lodge Nursery School is based in a lovely converted country house, with 4 base rooms and an extensive outdoor area. The nursery provides high-quality care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Rooms are carefully planned around children’s curiosity, equipped with high-quality natural resources and real objects, giving it that home-from-home feel and a relaxed environment that encourages learning and investigation.

Both full day and half day sessions are available. All fees include formula milk (for children 1-year-olds), meals and snacks.

The staff at Barney Lodge are incredibly supportive and wonderful with the children. Facilities there are lovely and homely with so many interesting areas for the children to play, especially the huge gardens and woodland area. My son has been there for over a year and absolutely loves it. I cannot
recommend the nursery more highly.

My daughter has been going to Barney Lodge since lockdown lifted and was her first proper interaction with other people and children. We were really nervous about her mixing with other babies and not having the social skills to cope with a huge change. The carers in her group have been absolutely fantastic
in helping her adjust and learn new skills.

My little girl has been going to Barney lodge since February, she settled really quickly in the Hedgehog Room and ever since has loved to go every week and has such a lovely bond with all the key workers and especially her key worker. I always feel comfortable when leaving my daughter with the girls
at the door. I love reading the notes on eyLog that are left after each session about my daughter.
Ever since my daughter started at Barney lodge she has become more confident around new children and adults, her speech has come on massively.
Thank you to all the ladies that work there not just in the Hedgehog Room but in the whole building who all work so well as a team to make it a safe, secure place for my daughter!

My daughter has thrived since joining Barney lodge earlier this year! The staff are incredibly caring and I love that the children are stimulated with activities so much outdoors- and have a lot of fun doing so! They are great at providing my daughter's updates and daily diary online too.

My little girl started at Barney Lodge only a few months ago, but she’s already developed so much and she always gets up to lots of fun activities. The staff are lovely they are happy to meet her dietary requirements and they were more than happy to help us with potty training etc… thanks Barney Lodge

The ladies have looked after my little boy for a few years now and he loves nursery. We've never had a problem and he's enjoyed every minute. I think he will miss it when he goes to big school next year.
The ladies are all lovely and welcoming and always smiling.
Great outdoor space and great activities.

My son has been attending Barney Lodge for around 2 years and he is very happy there.
He looks forward to going on for his sessions and has developed some good relationships with other children as well as staff.
Communication from the nursery is generally good, but sometimes the information provided
on eyLog (the online app) is not consistent with what is handed over verbally.
Over the past few months, daily diaries are no longer completed by staff, in order for staff to spend more time with the children. Instead, a verbal handover is supposed to take place when collecting your child, however, this does not always happen on pick up.
Overall, I am happy with the care that my children receive at Barney Lodge and my children seem to enjoy attending Barney Lodge.

My daughter has been at Barney Lodge Day Nursery for the last year. She has developed confidence, knowledge and life skills through play and discussion. During the COVID crisis, she still remained at the nursery as I was a key worker. They made sure that all the children were safe and she was always
happy to be going. Staff are always friendly and helpful. My daughter starts school this year and we will be really sad to say goodbye to everyone. They helped to make sure she was prepared to start school the best they could during this crisis.

My son was with Barney Lodge for a year. Since starting he has grown so much. They have a lovely outdoor play area and woodland bit at the end of the garden. The staff are very friendly, helpful and communicate fully with me as a parent. I really enjoyed the app they used to give me daily updates on
what my son had been up to, pictures and how he had eaten for the day. Meals were healthy and he enjoyed them all. He has recently left ready to start school, I would highly recommend them. In fact, a friend just had a look round and was so impressed her child will be starting very soon with them. Overall a fantastic nursery.

Both my daughters attend the nursery, and have done since they were 8 months old. It's a great nursery with great staff, my children have always come out smiling. Their outdoor space is amazing, and love seeing all the pictures sent through the app. It's also open from 7.30am, which is great for the
working parents. Only downfall is it has a small car park, and can be tricky to park sometimes.

Barney Lodge is a wonderful nursery full of warm and smiley staff who all greet every child by name and enthusiasm and energy each and every day! They have looked after both my children from 1-4 and nurtured them wonderfully preparing them for starting school. The garden is huge and they have split
it into lots of wonderful learning and play areas to cater for every outdoor need.

Both our children have attended Barney Lodge since the age of 1. The staff have been fantastic throughout the 5 years we have known them.
They have created a fun, safe and nurturing environment. Both our children love coming to nursery and cannot wait to tell us all about their day.
We believe they
have helped our children grow into happy, confident and creative individuals.
I would recommend this nursery as it is wonderful for both children and their family. Through their constant support to us we have become much more relaxed parents.
We feel sad that we only have a few months left until our youngest starts school, but known Barney lodge will do a great job to prepare him for his next adventure.

My little girl loves going to Barney Lodge. The staff are amazing, they always have time to talk about what she has been up to throughout the day. The outdoor space is amazing, which lets my little girl run and explore and get really messy which she loves. They have been excellent at sending us information
and activities to do with the children at this difficult time. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

It took a while for us to decide on a nursery for our son when he was two years old (now aged 7) but as soon as I walked through the front door at Barney Lodge I knew it was right for us all. Our sons key worker helped us to identify that he needed some help with his speech and language and we soon
accessed appropriate therapy. He honestly doesn’t stop talking now and we understand every word.
When it was time for our daughter (aged 3) to attend nursery we didn’t need to look around as we knew that Barney Lodge was the only option for us. The facilities are wonderful and the garden is such a bonus. All of the staff genuinely care and we feel safe leaving our daughter knowing she is so tenderly looked after.
We’ve always known Barney Lodge has been the best place for our children and yesterday confirmed that again for us when the Manager arrived at our front door with a special bag of games for our daughter whilst she isn’t able to attend due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Exceptional.
