My son has been studying here for over two months. At first, he didn't like it; every morning when I told him to go to school, he would say, "I don't want to go." But now he really enjoys going to school. The teachers are very dedicated to the children. Thank you to the teachers and the school. I wish
the school continued success and brilliance.

Having had to move nurseries suddenly due to closure (and around the Christmas break of all times!) finding Barney Lodge was a godsend. My son had been at the previous place for over a year and had made so many friends and loved the staff, so moving was hard. He settled in and got attached to the staff
at Barney lodge so quickly, I couldn't be happier. The staff really made the effort to accommodate him and the things he decided he had to do to feel comfortable. He obviously felt comfortable because we even managed to potty train within the first few weeks of a huge change for him! Thanks everyone, we love it!
Reply from Donna Courtenay, Nursery Manager at Barney Lodge Nursery SchoolThank you for your lovely message, we are so pleased that we were able to offer you a space at a very difficult and uncertain time, we are pleased that your son has settled so well.

Last year we moved from Andover to Warminster, and both us and our little one could not be happier with the nursery especially the staff. Even when it's cold the children are always outside, wrapped up but not stuck inside all winter (The amount of colds has definitely decreased this winter!). The main
thing is our little one loves it, he's made lots of friends and always talks about he's nursery workers too. Our next we will definitely be putting them straight on the waiting list.

Our LO has been at Barney Lodge Nursery for over 2 years, and in that time, we've seen him thrive and grow into such a lovely, independent and capable boy.
The team are so incredible and encouraging of the kids to learn new skills and be outside as much as possible.
We've always had such good relationships
with all the key workers, and there's a real sense of trust and honesty.
For anyone looking for a nursery with a great mix of play, structure, outdoor learning and teaching the little ones to be independent, I can't recommend it enough.

Staff are kind, they all know my child by name not just her teachers. Getting updates via app gives me peace of mind and any issues I'm alerted immediately. I love the news letters and it is very easy to get in contact with management if I have any concerns or queries. Well done guys keep it up!

I have felt very supported by the staff in the "Hedgehogs" class. My baby just started and Ive just gone to back to work so I have been anxious about how she would settle. The staff are very loving and nurturing and my baby has settled so well. Im feeling really positive about a transition
I was dreading.

My daughter has attended since she was 13 months and has absolutely thrived! The outdoor space is fantastic and the activities such as cooking/baking are lovely to see. My child has been at barney lodge since she was 10 months old her last day was today and is 4 years old now. They have been amazing all through the years she has attended. The team at Barney Lodge Nursery have been a wonderful part of my son's early years journey. He has been nurtured and cared for to an exceptional standard. The team are dedicated and passionate to childrens development and they allow children to learn through play. The room members know all the children
extremely well and take time to build bonds with parents and siblings, it feels like a lovely community setting where they care about all aspects and persons in a childs life.

My eldest is graduating after 4.5 years at Barney Lodge and my youngest has been there just over 2. They both went at 3 months and so we have experienced every stage and room at the nursery.
The facilities are brilliant, especially the garden. It's mostly Montessori style and there are so many different
resources for the children to enjoy.
The staff are all genuine, deeply caring humans. I don't know how they manage 10 hour days with such boundless patience.
Having just been to the graduation ceremony was a privilege to see what a lovely, confident bunch of kids they've nurtured for us parents.

My child is thriving at Barney Lodge. He is happy when he arrives and happy when he leaves. They provide him with various stimulating activities, often messier than I want to do at home. He is trying a variety of new foods at meal times. Staff are kind and caring, and keep us at to date with what he's
doing that day. The outdoor spaces are large and beautiful. Barney Lodge gives you great value for your money; including food, nappies and sunscreen etc in their prices.

We love Barney Lodge. My little boy has settled in so well. The baby room + garden is lovely, with so many enriching activities on offer in a safe environment. My baby has allergies and it has always been taken seriously and my instructions adhered to. I had the pleasure of attending a stay + play session
this week. It was lovely to see baby enjoying nursery + being shown genuine care and attention by the staff. Families are made to feel welcomed and listened to and staff are very thoughtful. Sending baby to nursery was nervewracking but Barney Lodge really helped the transition and knowing how happy he is there is wonderful.

Our son has just left Barney Lodge Nursery School (to start school) after being with them since he was 21 months old. There are not enough words to describe what a truly wonderful place Barney Lodge is. Our son has special needs and they have gone above and beyond to ensure he had everything he needed
to thrive. The staff were always so patient, calm, caring and understanding and Barney Lodge became like a second home for us. We were so sad to leave but our son truly blossomed at Barney Lodge that he was ready for the next chapter!
A huge thanks again to the team.

We have had the most wonderful experience with Barney Lodge Nursery School and the team who work there. They really understand our child and their ways and communicate with him so well. They have a great outdoor space which my child loves. The team are always welcoming, calm and collected even if inside
they may be feeling otherwise. He has been there since 9 months as I returned to work, it was a huge deal for our family as it was Covid and we had little support due to isolation. It was a huge deal and meant that we fully trusted what we saw in Barney Lodge and still feel that way. They have really understood our son and engage with the children’s interests. Childcare isn’t cheap as we know but it brings us peace of mind that he is in a great environment that also covers his food through the day. Even giving him seconds and thirds when he wants it. It would be nice to have a parent's type evening to really discuss the individual child and development, I know some nurseries do this. Thank you all.

My son loves going to Barney Lodge, he has a big beaming smile when we arrive for drop off! It didn't take very long at all for him to settle in, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. When I visit the nursery, the manager has taken time out of her busy schedule to talk to me on numerous occasions.
My son's keyworkers have really gotten to know him well and he is exposed to a variety of fun and engaging activities. When I pick him up, the staff always take time to chat with me about what he has done in his time there and give me helpful advice to help with things like his speech development. Very impressed with this nursery and so glad I chose to send my son there!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.807)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.807) out of 10 for Barney Lodge Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.882 for Barney Lodge Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (182 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 204 Ratings = 4.882
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barney Lodge Nursery School is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 number of registered child places is 14, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
