Tops Day Nurseries: Musgrove Nursery

I came to Tops Day Nursery after seeking alternative care for my children following being disappointed at a previous setting. We were instantly made to feel welcome and given all the nursery details, a tour of the nursery and offered some trail times.

I couldn't have been happier and my son absolutely loved the trail sessions. We have now been coming to the nursery for a couple of months and we have never looked back or been disappointed.

I do think that the food prices should be incorporated into the nursery fees.

Tops Day Nursery - Musgrove helped our family not just for childcare but wider as a family struggling with some difficult situations. They always responded in a caring as well as practical manner. I have recommended their services to many others. We used regular daycare for over 3 years 5 days a week and now we use mini beasts in the holidays. The staff are professional but caring. A first class service that we really needed and our granddaughters have benefited from.

My daughter started at Tops in June and by the end of week 2, she was practically dry in the day all thanks to the encouragement and support of the staff. Very friendly and informative staff that have helped make the transition of my child's arrival run smoothly.

We have been using Tops Day Nursery - Musgrove for our son for the last 6 months. The nursery staff are amazing and have been very professional in taking care of him. He loves going there and enjoys his time. The nursery updates the daily activities via an app which gives parents a very good idea of how the little one has been and what he had eaten whilst in the nursery. They have been very prompt in alerting the parents in case of any bugs going around with any of the children. They are quite flexible with timing and always try to be accommodating. There is also the half price last minute booking deal which we use regularly. Overall an excellent and safe place to let your little ones be when you are busy at work.

We've had all 3 of our children go to Tops over a course of 15yrs, we would recommend it to anyone who has children. The staff are always friendly, caring and approachable. They have all been supportive and caring to all members of our family as we went through an extremely difficult cancer diagnosis and treatment. Tops has been instrumental in my youngest sons nurturing and development. Thank you, Tops for all that you do xxx

The centre environment is welcoming. They are extremely kind and helpful. Really look after my daughter and take good care of her. All the members of staff are confident and willing to help. Feels clean and hygienic also.

Such a fantastic nursery. Staff are amazing with all the children and they have excellent communication between the staff and parents, would definitely recommend. The food that they provide the children is all made onsite and they always have such a wide variety.

Never had any issues using them and they always help accommodate with my shift patterns at work.

I would recommend this nursery to everyone who is interested in childcare. The staff are brilliant and work as hard as they can to provide support for the children. My boy has learned so much and has changed a lot. He has made lots of friends and has started to draw his friends in front of me at home. The nursery is always clean and safe when I come to pick my son up. The prices are definitely fair for the childcare my boy receives whilst I am at work. I can always leave the nursery knowing my boy is in a safe and friendly environment. When I was first introduced to the nursery, the manager provided an excellent show around and gave me the information I needed without me even asking.

This is an average nursery although most of the staff members are friendly and good with the children. I do feel like the ratios of staff to children in the preschool room aren't good enough and lots of things get missed, i.e. Ensuring they go home with full tummies, wrapping them up in all of their provided clothes for forest school and helping them after they have been to the toilet. Also, the invoicing system isn't very good and I frequently have very inaccurate invoices. Lots of the staff are very lovely though and the facilities are brilliant. Being able to book random days is very helpful when working shifts.

Overall I am happy with Tops and the care that my children receive. My only criticism would be the new invoicing system and how hard it is to understand. I also think it would be good if there was a set day rate that included meals with it.

Fantastic nursery. Staff are caring, wonderful people. The flexible hours system is completely invaluable. The only negative is the centralised billing system which makes absolutely no sense, particularly when trying to pay with childcare vouchers as it is impossible to know whether a certain voucher has been applied or not. If there was an error with the invoice or with adding a voucher I probably wouldn't know as the invoice system is impossible to understand, even for many of the staff it seems. The version they were using 12 months ago where one of the admin staff from the nursery emailed you an updated invoice direct was 100% better. Please consider returning to it.

My son has been at the nursery for a year now and I feel like the nursery is working more on policies than trying to work with parents on how to provide better care for children and their individual needs. For example, the latest sugar/salt policy is not giving any numeric value, just less daily sugar and salt intake, so my son was not given a snack as it had too much salt, so he went home hungry. The number of emails we receive every week is abnormal. On average, we receive 5 if not more. Also, the nursery is very expensive and the food costs £3.10 for lunch! I can get an adult lunch for that in any supermarket. Normally the fees drop after the child turns 2 years old, at this nursery, it is 4p cheaper an hour. The ladies working there are good with children and nice but it seems like they are overloaded and stretched all the time - dropping off and picking up is chaotic most mornings. However, my son seems to enjoy the nursery and he is learning there too.

We were very nervous when looking for childcare for our 3-month baby but Tops won us around more than anywhere else. We were initially attracted by their flexible booking policy and prices. When we arrived they were so friendly, passionate and showed such genuine care for each and every child. We felt very welcome from the moment we walked in and we were so impressed with the nursery and couldn't have been happier with the visit. We loved the feel of the place and now feel a lot calmer about our son starting next month.

I now have three children attending the nursery and I have had positive experiences from each of the different rooms.

I would definitely recommend this nursery/play school to any parent as they work really well with the children and personally cope with the children who have behavioural difficulties really well and don't just give up on the children. The best playschool my sons ever been too

My son has attended Tops at Musgrove since 15 months of age. We have always found staff to be professional, extremely caring and endeavour to make my son's day as interesting as can be! I always receive a full update of the day's events/activities. On the whole, my son always likes to attend. As a working mum at the hospital, Tops have always been accommodating when changes to child care have been needed mostly at very short notice, which means a lot less stress for me!

I have 3 children and 2 are now at school all 3 have been or are at Tops, the staff are amazing and have helped and guided my children into what they are today, confident, happy and independent children which is what every parent wants. I would certainly recommend Tops to any parents.
