Partou Hucclecote Day Nursery and Pre-School has a long-established reputation as the leading provider of childcare in Gloucester.

The nursery offers outstanding care to children aged 3 months to 5 years and is open from 8am to 6pm Monday - Friday, for 51 weeks of the year (closed during Christmas week).

Located on Hucclecote Road, a short distance from Gloucester Business Park, the nursery enjoys the benefit of a large character property with high ceilings, large airy rooms, and a huge outdoor garden and play space, which the children love and thrive in.

There are separate rooms for babies, toddlers, 2 to 3-year-olds, and Pre-School children, furnished with 'age-appropriate' toys and resources, ensuring they provide the best standard of care, development and education.

They operate a Key Person policy, ensuring that your child is cared for by a member of staff who gets to know you and your child really well.

Our daughter started at the little people in January and enjoys going here; she loves the staff in the baby room! The variety of activities is great and perfect for their age e.g. messy and sensory play. Food is varied and made fresh for the children.
The only downside was our first impression to
the nursery - we had to chase for paperwork and when we turned up for our arranged viewing, they didn’t seem to know we were coming. It would be nice to receive a record sheet each day at pick up, I think the nursery does do these as I have had 2 sheets over the 4 months our daughter has been here but it would be nice to get these every time, or an online record. Overall, it’s a great nursery!

My daughter likes her nursery a lot, she likes the big garden and the slide. She has good food, healthy and varied. She has access to lots of different toys and "real" things like teacups and wool balls. We really like the ethos and that the children are encouraged to play rather than make a final product.
There has been a definite change in the atmosphere in the last 6 months, feels more happy and welcoming since the new manager started.

My daughter enjoys her time at nursery. I feel it is a good opportunity to develop her social skills - which are still improving. She is eating a wide variety of healthy meals, many of which she won't eat at home. The nursery provides activities based on her interests and her personality. She has access
to a beautiful large outdoor space and a variety of 'normal' nursery toys and natural 'real' resources that interest her.

The nursery has new management and there are noticeable improvements made. The new manager is very approachable and passionate about her role. She is proactive and listens to concerns. Communications between staff could be improved. Parking at the premises is always very difficult. More options needed
for fussy eaters.
The nursery has recently sent out letters informing parents of the price increase. I would like to add this is a very expensive nursery given the price comparison to surrounding nursery's and that it's rating on inspection is at good. If it was outstanding then I would expect the fee but it's not.

My son looks forward to coming into the nursery every day, even on weekends, so he definitely finds it a great place.
The staff are so brilliant at their job and extremely patient I can hardly fault them.
Little People is like a second home to my son and I am confident that he is in safe hands every
time he's here.

The people working in the nursery are great and so friendly. My children love the ladies in their rooms. But the rotation of the staff is dramatical. I love the look of the preschooler's room, it is lovely and tidy now.
My only concern is the play area in the big garden with the sand. Also, in the
parking area, the gravel quality is very poor, after the rain, white mud is everywhere, I think it needs tarmac.

A great nursery school. My daughter loves coming to the nursery to see all her friends and staff. They are great at informing you of what your child has done and what they can work on at home i.e. Working on counting and numbers. They are great at finding out your child's interests at home and what

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2021

I have over 24 years experience working with young children. I trained as an apprentice in my early days and have worked in mainstream, SEN and diverse early years settings.


I have a business management and leadership qualification alongside my Early Years skills. I have been a Deputy Manager for over 10 years, but over the last few years I have worked at our sister nursery in Cheltenham, sharing the management role and really enjoyed this side of the job.


I’m a busy, working mum to two beautiful children, a teenager and a baby, so I can empathise with parents during their children’s journeys through the early years experience and beyond.
