At Little Pioneers Cainscross they make friends across generations. Their children make regular visits to their local care home where they play games, learn songs and play creatively with residents.

They are big on safety which is why ALL their practitioners are paediatric first aid trained. They also have an app called Famly which keeps parents/carers updated on how their little ones are getting on at nursery, with photos of their day, meals eaten and even toilet training progress!

They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with children. They are also silver eco schools accredited, a programme that sees children lead the way in making little changes that deliver big environmental differences.

They are big on happy children as they focus on taking care of each other and the world and have areas for growing food (and eating it!).

The nursery has two baby rooms for children aged three months to two-years-old, a room for two to three-year-olds and one for three to five-year-olds. The nursery has a large enclosed garden, with separate areas for under and over two's, which contains a soft play surface, paving slabs, bark and grass.

Excellent, caring and dedicated staff who have looked after my little girl from 1 year old. She is now in the preschool group and enjoys her sessions very much. All the staff are friendly and always willing to help in any way they can. I have been most impressed in all aspects of the service they provide
and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.


The freshly prepared meals and range of menu is wonderful too. It’s never easy leaving your child with someone else to look after, but the nursery made this a painless experience. A dedicated and wonderful team, well done!

My son went to this nursery from the age of 9 months to 3 years. He loved the baby room and also the toddler room. The staff in their rooms were very attentive and my son thrived. He loved his key workers. My other son will be going here when I return back to work in July. They offer NHS discount too
which helped.

My son very much enjoys going to nursery here. The staff are very welcoming and attentive to all the children and parents and offer a wide range of activities for the children. Food is prepared fresh every day giving the children a good varied diet. I would highly recommend this nursery to all my family

I am extremely happy with The Co-operative Childcare Stroud (Cainscross). My son attended there 9 years ago & my daughter is currently there now. The staff are excellent, kind and friendly. There is a great range of activities for them & a nice safe outdoor area. Highly recommended.

Our toddler loves going to nursery. She is happy there and has made some lovely friendships. She is offered fun and creative things to do and a good range of food. l One thing I do not like is having to pay full price for days when the nursery is not even open like Christmas Day and bank holidays. Also,
the contract is not very flexible because you can't swap a one-off day even with plenty of warning.

Both my daughters have attended the nursery since they were about one year old. The staff are fantastic, they take such individual care of the children, are knowledgeable, loving and are always coming up with new ideas for making play and learning exciting. The food is always freshly prepared by their
own chef, and she is outstanding. The co-op is also one of the few nurseries which offer a 7.30am start which is a lifesaver. The facilities are also excellent and always clean.

My little boy started this nursery a couple of months ago, and I was very anxious about leaving him, especially as he cried a lot to begin with. However all the staff have been very welcoming each time we've dropped him off, and his key worker and room manager have really bonded with him and he now
smiles going in! I've been hugely impressed at how they've managed to get him to nap and eat while there. They've also been great at reassuring me when I've checked in during the day, being a slightly neurotic mother!


I have also noticed his development coming on since being here, in terms of walking, feeding himself etc.


We went to the Macmillan coffee morning a few weeks ago and all of the girls from his room came to say hello - I don't know if that was planned, but it made me very happy.


This morning, he happily toddled off to play with the toys and wasn't even interested when I waved goodbye - clearly has much more important things to be doing!

Beware, started my daughter at this nursery at 18 months old, only to be told that when she's 3 years old and the 15hours free funding is eligible, that no other hours or days are available. This has left me no other choice than to leave the nursery and settle my daughter off in a new nursery where
she can be given her 15hours a week. I had paid a joining fee and lost the last pre paid 3 sessions that I've just been told by the area manager, I will not be refunded. Just be careful your not relying on the 15hours funding when you start your child off in baby or toddler age.

My daughter has been attending this setting since she was 10 months old and I have always been more than happy and content with the care and learning experiences she has received.
Throughout her time here she has grown into a confident independent child who enjoys attending the setting to spend time
with both her peers and staff members overall I feel this is a happy, safe environment and would highly recommend it to others.

I would highly recommended the Co-op Nursery at Cainscross. The facilities are always very clean, the environment is very bright and inviting. The staff do an amazing job ensuring the little ones are very well looked after and are learning to the requested standard. My daughters care at nursery has
been exceptional. She gets very excited when I tell her it's a nursery day and runs into the building. I couldn't have chosen a more perfect setting for my child to learn and grow in. Very happy.

We are really happy with the care and learning at this nursery. Our child loves going to nursery and seeing all her friends and staff. The staff are fab they really care for all the children. The activities that they provide the children are fun and tailored to the child's interests and development.
We are kept regularly updated with our child's progress and daily activities they have done after a day at nursery, as well as parents evening where we have a chance to come and spend a little more time talking about our child with her key person. The food that the children are provided with is great too wth lots of variety.

Both our children have attended this nursery and we have been really impressed with the provision. The staff are so lovely, we have really felt confident leaving our children in their care. It shows how much they care about and get to know each individual child.
The facilities are great, an extensive
selection of toys and activities that change regularly. The garden is great.
It always seems clean and doesn't smell (unlike some nurseries we viewed)
The food quality and variety is excellent and very healthy.
Only negative is having to pay for bank holidays when the nursery is closed.

Great place made to feel at ease and part of the nursery family from day one.


Really happy with the way my son is cared for on the days he attends and he is so happy to be there and has settled in so fast which has just put me at complete ease.


Food ticks all of his boxes and he really seems

to enjoy and has moved on leaps and bounds in his capabilities with feeding himself.


Only been going a few weeks but it's been great and I feel really happy to leave my child in the nursery which I never thought I would.

I am very happy with my daughter's childcare. The provider is very flexible, I am a teacher and they provide a term-time contract (the only one in Stroud)
They are also happy to accommodate extra days. My daughter is very happy at nursery.The staff are friendly and she enjoys the food and activities.
The hours of the nursery are ideal - 7.30am until 6.30pm.
If my daughter is unwell, the nursery care is good and we are informed without being panicked.
