Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery, Kemble

They go outside every day in all weathers. The facilities are not particularly photogenic, but that doesn't matter to a child. The only minor issue is that our child was moved out of the baby room very quickly without transition period (due to illness) and so he didn't settle at drop-off for months. However, the nursery were then very willing to do much more gradual transition to the next room which worked brilliantly.

Our daughter has been at Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery since the start of the Covid lockdown and we are constantly impressed and admiring of what a wonderful place they have created. We feel completely confident in their standards of care, which take a practical and reassuring approach so that we never need to question or worry about her care or their decisions. They have equipped our daughter with all the skills she needs to start school this year and meanwhile she has had the most fabulous, stable and enjoyable time here for over nearly four years. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery, it is unpretentious and bursting with staff who in our opinion are heroes. Our daughter has formed a wonderful friendship group and appears to have a very kind and relaxed approach to managing relationships, which they have nurtured. We shall be very sad to leave when our daughter goes to school this year, as the Gooseberry Bush has been our unwavering guide for all these years (and she eats everything they offer her!).

The staff at the Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery could not do more for the children in their care. My child is in the preschool class, she has come on leaps and bounds. The staff create an environment that encourages her to learn and I feel confident she will be ready for school come September thanks to their commitment to their children.

My son has recently started at Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery and I cant recommend them enough. The staff there are so friendly and have been so welcoming. I can already see a big step in his development from all the different activities they take part in each week. The app is great and allows us to see what he is getting up to throughout the day and put our minds at ease.

Brilliant nursery! They do all sorts of fun activities that keep them busy and learning new things. The staff there are so lovely and accommodating, my son comes home very happy! They keep me updated throughout the day with what he has eaten and how he has slept, which is great.

Both of my children attended the Kemble Gooseberry Bush and loved it. The staff there were so friendly and super supportive. The children had great fun getting involved with so may different activities, the outside space was fantastic and the food provided was really healthy. A really lovely, caring and nurturing environment.

My daughter has attended two of the Gooseberry Bush settings and I can honestly say they are both amazing. My daughters development has come on leaps and bounds and the way they happily adapt to any child's needs is second to none. The staff are always so friendly and happy to assist in helping to ensure home routines are followed in their care. The outdoor space they have available is brilliant, with mud kitchens and all the outdoor play you could imagine. My daughter loves going to nursery! Happy child happy parent!

My son was originally at another Gooseberry Bush and then transitioned to Kemble as it was closer to us. As expected, Kemble is also of a high standard.. this was evident from their outstanding practice and quality of learning. I particularly like how informative the staff are about my son's development and I have no worries that they will prepare him ready for school. The management team are also very approachable and the children are really at the heart of everything they do. Would highly recommend it!

Gooseberry Bush is a great nursery. The team are all lovely and really take an interest in my child's development. They really put a lot of effort in with activities and care for the children. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

I was very worried and anxious about starting my daughter in nursery during the pandemic and not being able to go to settling in sessions or go inside for very long but all the staff made my daughter very welcome. After only a handful of settling in days, she was very happy to go inside, which made me feel such at ease knowing she must be having the best time and felt very safe in an unfamiliar environment so quickly.

I cannot fault Gooseberry Bush. My son is so happy there, he can’t wait to go in each day, and most days is reluctant to come home! The staff were great at supporting me with all my anxieties about him starting nursery. The staff are always friendly and really knowledgeable and always able to answer any queries quickly. There is a huge range of activities available for the children and my son has grown in confidence since starting nursery. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gooseberry Bush.

From the office staff to the teaching staff, I could not recommend Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery more! Always fantastic service and it really shows in my little ones daily mood as he is always so happy! Thank you all for everything you do!

I have had two children go through Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery, it’s an absolutely fantastic nursery providing many opportunities to the children, it’s a wonderful stimulating nursery with great facilities. The outdoor spaces are fantastic, lots of forest school opportunities and outdoor learning, my son absolutely loved the mud kitchens. Gooseberry Bush provided a loving, nurturing environment for my children. They helped them grow and develop into confident children who were more than ready to start school. They were well-prepared thanks to the hard work and dedication from the staff. The staff are phenomenal, the care they provide and the constant interaction and adaptation of activities to the children’s needs is second to none. It’s extremely child-focused and I could not have wished for my children to have accessed a better nursery. My youngest will be attending once things change and we need to access childcare again post Covid 19.

Both of our boys have attended the Gooseberry Bush Nursery. They both have absolutely loved it there. The nursery team has a wonderful team. The activities interest and challenge the children and the available outside space is brilliant - safe and well laid out. I have no doubt that GB nursery has and is giving my boys the best start. Both my daughters have attended Gooseberry Bush Kemble and have thoroughly enjoyed their time there. My eldest daughter left 2 1/2 years ago and still has fond memories of Gooseberry Bush. The staff are excellent, trustworthy and extremely child-centred, which is why I would not hesitate in recommending the nursery. In particular, the preschool room is well-organised and provides excellent, fun experiences both socially and academically, which prepare children for school. My youngest daughter is currently in the preschool room and comes out happy and very chatty about her days. I am very grateful for the experience that both of my girls have received.

An excellent place for our child to develop and grow with plenty of support and playtime. Excellent staff who care about the children. Every day our son comes home happy and loves his time at nursery. Each week is a different theme and we feel his development has been constant since being at Gooseberry Bush. Would definitely recommend to others.

My son has been at Gooseberry Bush for just over a year and absolutely loves it. The staff know how to make a real connection with the children and the activities are always well planned and educational. They have coped with the COVID situation brilliantly and have put many measures in place to protect the children, parents and themselves. The nursery setting has fantastic outside space for all age ranges and the setting is great as my son loves being near the aeroplanes and seeing them every day.

This place is the best. Highly recommend.

Amazing nursery! We looked around for a while and had a bit of a time of it. From the initial meeting and show round, it became very clear that this establishment oozed knowledge, care and attention to detail of its operations. I must admit I was one of those parents that was hard to please. The management and staff were really put through it with my questioning. I was completely satisfied. When my son attended he always came home happy, stating what he had done that day which was a change to where he was previously. If you are considering this nursery, go have a look. It is amazing. They truly are amazing.

Excellent staff and a great nursery. Both our children have enjoyed the nursery. Our eldest recently started school and the foundations laid by the nursery have ensured he’s had a smooth and easy transition to reception.
