Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Torquay)

The entire staff have been excellent and have really helped my son in his learning and social development. They’ve worked under difficult conditions but have maintained professionalism throughout. My son loves going to nursery and although this review only states a particular month, they have been fantastic since day one, over two years ago. They have worked with me throughout some difficult personal times and accommodated my son at short notice sometimes. Excellent and highly recommended!

My grandson settled at Mama Bear's in Torquay a month ago. He has settled in and is so happy there. He is a very strong-willed and lively little boy who needs guidance and time. I have found this nursery to be amazing with him. They are extremely professional and caring. Handing a child over to strangers is very difficult, but this nursery has made it so easy.

As a covid baby mama I was quite anxious about sending my son to nursery but also knew how important it was for him to socialise, especially with all the lockdowns. From the one-hour taster session where he didn't want to leave as he was having so much fun to now, where he looks forward to nursery days and knows exactly where to go when we get out of the car. All the nursery nurses are amazing and really do care about the kids, they show them compassion and understanding. In a short space of time, my son went from barely walking to now almost running. From hardly speaking to now singing himself to sleep. I honestly could keep going on and on about how great this nursery and all the employees are. Thank you for taking such great care of him, he really does love it!

My son has been coming to this nursery since March 2021 and we couldn't be happier. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My son loves going to nursery and always leaves so happy. We love the updates we get throughout the day and on how he is developing.

I've enjoyed my daughter going to her nursery as she has learnt alot. She has a delay and come along way to where she is now. So I'm very pleased with her progress. I recommend anyone else who like their children to attend the nursery.

It is a lovely nursery, always clean, tidy and well presented. The staff are always so welcoming and informative about my daughter when I collect her. The apps they use to log children’s daily activities and meals are always promptly updated. During the last year with COVID regulations, the team have continued to work hard to protect our children and always have a positive and friendly attitude upon them. I would highly recommend Mama Bear's to any parent or guardian looking for childcare for their children.

My daughter has been attending Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Torquay) since she was nine months old and has had a fantastic experience there, she loves all the staff and has made lots of friends. The staff are very caring and knowledgeable, helping you with anything they can and they provide good fun activities which my daughter is always coming home happily telling me about. The nursery has a lovely big outdoor space which is always being updated with activities the children enjoy. During the Covid-19 pandemic the nursery has done everything they can to keep the running of the nursery up to the highest standard, the policies, procedures and cleaning regimes have been second to none and I have felt very safe with my daughter still attending during this difficult time.

I am extremely pleased with the nursery. My children enjoy every single moment and their development there is extraordinary. The staff are very devoted to delivering excellence. Words cannot do justice to how grateful I am to the staff.

Amazing nursery, I've sent both of my boys here and they've come on so well. My oldest was ready for school and I think it helped with him going to Mama Bear's. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is an issue. I'll be sending my third child there when I return to work. Thank you for everything you've done.

My son loves going to Mama Bear's nursery and happily waves goodbye. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Having a child with special needs Mama Bear's have helped my son by putting into place a schedule tailored to support his needs by his Senco. Mama Bear's is very well managed and I have no hesitation in recommending Mama Bear's.

All of the staff are so helpful and extremely caring towards my child. Her key worker has a brilliant relationship with her and has helped her progress through the time she’s been there. If you have questions or queries the staff always take the time to talk to you. Fantastic nursery.

Pass overs are always great and very detailed too - if my son is ever upset before attending the day the staff greet him with a cuddle to settle him too, which is such a lovely thing and shows just how caring all members of staff that work at Mama Bear's are. They’re organised and I really can’t fault the nursery or any of the staff one bit. My daughter will be attending when she is 2 and I wouldn’t want to send her anywhere else.

The staff are all really friendly and welcoming. They are always around for a talk and always hand over very well on how my daughters day has been. She started young and is really thriving from the attention she gets at the nursery from her key worker. Very tidy and a well kept nursery!

Since my son started at Mama Bear's, Barewell Road, two years ago he has come so far, he's always coming home and telling me what he got up to at nursery, playing games and singing songs that he learnt. The staff are all so lovely and are always happy to listen to and support parents and children the best they can. I couldn't have wished for a better nursery experience for my son, he absolutely loves attending nursery. I could not recommend this nursery high enough, they have been amazing on my son's journey over the last two years and I thank them all so much for how supportive they have been.

My 2 children have absolutely thrived at this nursery, the staff are incredible and go way over and above, they make it the friendly place that it is. My daughter loves coming to nursery and is always talking at home about her friends there and singing songs that she has learnt. She wears glasses and has needed to wear a patch over the last year, again the staff were amazing in helping us with this, nothing is ever a problem.

The only thing I could be negative about Mama Bears is with some of the policies. A 48-hour absence is ridiculous for a temperature (this is not the case in schools). A child can have a temperature for a wide variety of reasons (ear infections etc) that are not contagious, it seems ridiculous to send every child home for this.

Overall I am extremely pleased with our choice to send our children to Mama Bears (Barewell) and we are very grateful for all that they do.

My child has settled in very quickly here and I believe that is due to the caring nature of the staff members. All staff members are approachable and the room always looks well managed. Security is important to all staff too. Brilliant nursery.

Since my son has started here back in September he has really come out of his shell. His speech has improved loads and he is much more confidence in himself. The staff always make sure he is comfortable and happy and ring me when needed. Overall I am very very happy with this nursery and look forward to them looking and teaching my youngest in the new year. Thank you for everything.
