Partou Thornbury Day Nursery & Pre-School provides exceptional care and education for babies and children up to the age of five.

The nursery is set across two beautiful and historical converted school buildings, with bright and airy playrooms and an exciting outdoor play area. The garden features a large sandpit, a playhouse, shaded area, climbing trees, planting patches and a fun water feature.

The setting is well-resourced throughout and comes with an amazing soft play room as well as a separate pre-school building.

Children enjoy a wide range of inspirational learning activities covering all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including communication, physical development and mathematics.

The experienced team hold childcare qualifications, paediatric first aid certificates and safeguarding training. Every team member has an enhanced DBS check and the nursery has CCTV and secure door entry systems for added security.

The nursery has improved a lot over the past 12 months. Agency staff seem to be far and few between which is great. Staff's confidence has improved, however could be better, for example, sometimes we have had to mention the quality of nappy changes. They were previously missed or not done to a good
standard. This does seem to have improved though.
One good thing is when an issue arises, it is usually settled quickly.
Staff are lovely and my little one really enjoys it there, the other children are well-behaved and treat each other well. The staff keep on top of my child's development and will help encourage things that I ask. The free play is good, indoor sandpit, a good range of activities, soft play, and a good amount of garden time.
I would recommend this establishment despite some of the issues due to the quick response to change.

Overall, I feel that more could be done to improve this nursery. The building itself is very old and urgently requires modernisation and a lot of the equipment also needs replacing. Considering the extortionate monthly nursery fees, I get the feeling that this place is struggling financially. The majority
of staff are friendly and welcoming. However, our child doesn't seem to like going there. This has been the case since they started. I'd like to see a brighter, more modern and more energetic environment for the kids. It would also be nice if parents wouldn't be kept waiting at the door for long periods of time when they're trying to pick up their child.

I have been so happy with how Little Acorns have looked after my daughter. She has been attending nursery for almost a year now- I was really apprehensive about her starting but the staff have taken such good care of her, and have really helped her grow and develop and when I pick her up she’s so happy
and chats to me enthusiastically about her day. I’ve always felt that the staff really care for her and are fond of her, rather than just being another child. When we drive past Little Acorns on non-nursery days she points and laughs. She really loves her nursery days and I’m so grateful to all the staff who have been part of that.

My son has loved his time here over the past three years moving through all the rooms.
The staff have always aimed to get to know him and he has developed so many key skills with them which really helps at home.

I am really happy with the nursery, my daughter has made some great connections with the staff which allows her to feel happy during her time at the nursery. The nursery offers lots of activities which is lovely to see through the updates I receive, they range from lots of messy play to reading time.
Having a key person for your child is great for discussing their development and how that is included through time at nursery and home. Both my children have attended this nursery and both of them are very happy which is my main priority and my eldest enjoys visiting now she attends school. Very happy! Lovely staff! Highly recommend.

On the whole, the nursery has provided good care for my children. I have one child remaining there and he loves it and is always so happy when I pick him up. The staff always come across really friendly and are still always so welcoming to my older children too.
