They look after the children at Busy Bees very well. Staff are very friendly. My daughter seems happy here. Only issue is the free hours you get are not set out clear for parents, also their school holidays hours not clear, meaning when their closed etc. But other than this Busy Bees are great.
Reply from Clare, Nursery Manager at Busy Bees Weston Super MareThank you for taking the time to review our nursery! We give out a calendar at the beginning of every year which clearly states the funded and non-funded weeks, this is put together by our financial administrator to make it easier for parents to understand. This is given out along with the welcome to pre-school pack which has lots of information about how the funding works and we also have a welcome to pre school evening where parents are encouraged to discuss funding etc with our financial administrator and manager. I hope this helps and if there is anything else you need please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at the nursery. Kind Regards

My daughter has attended Busy Bees at Weston Super Mare since January 2016. She has always been really settled since starting nursery. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and offer a wide range of activities to stimulate my daughter. The nursery offers a wide selection of freshly home cooked
food which my daughter loves.

My daughter has attended the nursery since she was 8 months old. Sending your child to the nursery can be very stressful but all the staff made it very easy. The communication is outstanding and I felt even though I am unable to spend every day with her I knew everything she was up to. My daughter is
now in the toddler room and she can tell me herself all the great things she gets up to. She even had me doing the 'wake and shake' at 6am the other morning!! Thank you to all the staff who are making some really special memories with my daughter.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.536)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.536) out of 10 for Busy Bees Weston Super Mare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.911 for Busy Bees Weston Super Mare is calculated as follows: ( (163 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 179 Ratings = 4.911
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.625 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Weston Super Mare is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20. 15 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.75
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello and welcome to Busy Bees in Weston-Super-Mare, my name is Becka and I am the Centre Director. I have worked in Early Years for over ten years and within that time I have achieved my Level 5 in leadership and management in Early Years, Level 2 in Play Work and Level 3 Early Years Education. I have worked across different settings in managerial and leadership positions throughout my career, and have gathered lots of experience working with various age groups.

During my time working in Early Years, I have collated a wide SENCo knowledge and have a passion for supporting children to be the most confident version of themselves. I believe this is the most important stage before any child embarks on their journey to school.

I enjoy working closely with my staff team, promoting a whole team approach and ensuring that children are provided with the best possible learning opportunities and play experiences at the setting.
