My little boy was transferred over from the other settling that closed, always a hard transition and the nursery had a bad ofsted report and always makes you feel worried.
When Becka joined the nursery had a leader and valued her staff and created a lovely atmosphere for the children. The children
now have some many learning resources. We were updated with staff training to show measures were put in place. My boy has Down syndrome and staff have supported him with learning and making sure the environment is safe for him. His needs have been taken in to consideration and have adapted parts of the nursery to help with his learning this means with there help he is able to go to main stream school. (Big thank you to his 1:1 support) Heather has helped me through all SEN aspects to support us through our early years stages. Thank you for your support and creating a friendly environment.

Since my little boy has started busy bees Weston-Super-Mare, he has thrived. He went from being so uncertain around new people and not wanting to let Mummy and Daddy go, to running in with a smile on his face. Becca and her team are friendly and inviting. The toddler room team are fantastic. Extremely
patient. Always take the time to give us an update on how our little boy has done during the day and what things he has got up to. The setting as a whole are great at keeping you informed either by phone or on the app which leaves you with a piece of mind your children are in good hands. Would highly recommend.

My child is now 2 years old and has been at this nursery for 9 months, she has become so social and confident.
We get updated on all her meals, nappy changes and sleeps through the day in a timely manner.
My child is always well fed and cared for, she always comes home with lots of art work and
so happy after a day at nursery.
I have noticed such positive difference at this nursery the past 6/7 months following change of management and after previously difficult ofsted review.
All of the staff have always been approachable, honest and keen to learn to do the best for the children and parents they care for.
Such a lovely nursery with a 'home from home' feel.

Since Becka joined Busy Bees in April, I feel the nursery has gone from strength to strength. She has been extremely approachable, honest, and has restored my confidence in the care that my child receives. Becka is personable and gives clear communication which I greatly value. This has made an impact
of bringing a real sense of community to the nursery. It has been lovely to get my son involved with competitions, as well as picking up some of the seasonal linked activities that are always in the reception area. I have noticed the staff seem confident, happy and knowledgable. They implement high quality activities and have formed excellent relationships with my son making his transition to pre-school supportive.
My son is happy, stimulated, and has made clear leaps in his development. Thank you to all of your efforts to make Busy Bees a lovely place to be.

Leaving your little one with strangers can be nerve-wracking, and we did hear a mix of opinions about Busy Bees (Weston Super Mare) before making our decision. However, after our first visit and seeing the positive changes since the new director joined, we've been so impressed. The staff are kind, attentive,
and truly care about the children, and the overall atmosphere feels warmer and more organised.

The nursery offers a great balance of fun and educational activities, and the daily updates on our child's day give us peace of mind. Since the new leadership, we've seen a clear improvement, and we feel confident and happy knowing our child is in such capable hands. We're so pleased with our experience that we'll be sending our other child there as well.

The stuff has been incredible and really made this transition easy stressfree and supportive the entire family and our little one is growing so fast and his development has seen a massive improvement since he started the nursery and it was lovely to see development growing to support by the lovely team
at the nursery From his room leader to kitchen stuff and other rooms staff have all made a massive impact into his Settling in sessions and process through starting the nursery and thank you so much. Me and my partner feel safe leaving our son with the lovely staff That seemed to adore all of the children at the nursery. It's also nice to see the staff track the children's development and growth and help them progress with all of the skills from their community skills there motor and growth motor skills and it's lovely to see them interact so intensely with the children and make the activities something that will fit each child with their needs and their wants and their desires.

Where to start?! I will start with my eldest daughter, she started at Busy Bees at the age of 4. She started last year (2022) she was in a previous nursery but that didn't work out. We heard many things about Busy Bees and gave it a shot. Well, we fell in love with the nursery! Amazing, wonderful, caring
staff that helped my eldest feel so at home and comfortable and loved. She's now in big school and still goes on and on about how much she misses nursery! Now my youngest started at the age of just 8 months old. I was so sceptical with being her age but that was short-lived! The fact that my little one doesn't care that I'm there and doesn't care when I'm going just says how much she loves the place! She feels comfortable and safe. Amazing staff for the littlies too! Just doing a special shoutout to some awesome people in this place, the early childhood educator, the centre director and another member of staff. There are others I have seen and spoken to. Just go to this nursery, you won't be disappointed!

All the staff at Busy Bees have been very attentive towards my son. He absolutely loves going to nursery and interacting with the staff and other children. His favourite thing to do is to be outside in which they enable as much as possible. Seeing the pictures of him learning and exploring is lovely
and you can see the hard work that goes into all the sensory and learning activities. Thank you to all who look after him.

It is sad to write this as I had a previous review from a year ago about how good this nursery was. But it has gone downhill so quickly with all experienced staff having left. We had no idea who was looking after our child and he was really not happy. We left when we realised how few staff were left
- people would leave without us being told. And my child's development started to go downhill because there weren't enough experienced staff to do activities with him. We realised how much it had affected us when we left after 2 years there. He has been so much happier since moving.

My daughter loves going to Busy Bee's and I feel reassured every morning when I drop her off that she is in the best possible hands. All of the team there have created a happy, friendly and caring environment. Throughout the day I'm updated via the app as to what she is doing, eating, sleeping etc.
along with photos of the various activities she gets involved in. Thanks to everyone there!

Both my girls love coming to Busy Bees. My youngest has just started and I worried about how she would react to such a big change, but I needn't have worried. The staff have been so great at settling her and she now loves nursery as much as her older sister who has been coming to nursery for 2 years
now.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.913)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.913) out of 10 for Busy Bees Weston Super Mare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.863 for Busy Bees Weston Super Mare is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.863
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.05 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Weston Super Mare is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.4
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello and welcome to Busy Bees in Weston-Super-Mare, my name is Becka and I am the Centre Director. I have worked in Early Years for over ten years and within that time I have achieved my Level 5 in leadership and management in Early Years, Level 2 in Play Work and Level 3 Early Years Education. I have worked across different settings in managerial and leadership positions throughout my career, and have gathered lots of experience working with various age groups.

During my time working in Early Years, I have collated a wide SENCo knowledge and have a passion for supporting children to be the most confident version of themselves. I believe this is the most important stage before any child embarks on their journey to school.

I enjoy working closely with my staff team, promoting a whole team approach and ensuring that children are provided with the best possible learning opportunities and play experiences at the setting.
