We're so happy we found Sancton Wood Nursery!

After visiting several nurseries, this one felt right as warm, caring, clean, and professional. The classrooms are clean, and the staffs have been amazing from day one. More than a year later, we're just as happy with our choice. The spacious, tidy backyard is another wonderful bonus.

I've also had the chance to chat with two other mums, and they're equally happy with the nursery , which says a lot about the care and consistency here.

The nursery's app has been a great help. It gives simple yet important updates, like whether our son napped and what he had for lunch. These details make it easier to plan the rest of the day and feel connected with his routine.

We're deeply thankful to all the teachers for creating such a nurturing environment where our son feels loved and cared for.

The head of the nursery, leads with both heart and skill, and it's clear the management had a great eye in choosing the right person.

We feel really grateful for all the staff from the Sancton Wood Nursery. They are all super patient, friendly and caring. My daughter has been taken great care of. She was very shy before, and now she is confident, chatty and independent.

This is such a special wonderful nursery, and we feel very lucky to be part of Sancton Wood.
The teachers are super experienced, loving, caring, fun and create activities with amazing imagination that get all the children so engaged.
From a learning perspective, the teachers encourage learning in such a positive way and give the children exposure to lots of extra learning opportunities such as Spanish, PE, baking, pottery, music, drama - the list goes on. Communication is top-notch, and we have full insight into all the fun our son is having at nursery.

Most of all, we always feel super happy dropping our son off in the morning and love hearing about all the fun things he has been up to when we collect him. I couldn't be more impressed and would genuinely recommend Sancton Wood to everyone.

My son has attended the nursery since he was ten months old. I was first drawn to their amazing outdoor space. My son has continued to flourish within the environment and loves his carers. The children are always stimulated with fantastic activities such as painting, water play and mud kitchens. There has not been one day where he has been upset about being left; it’s always the opposite
What has been helpful is I’ve seen completely different behaviour in him when leaving him at another nursery he attends. He cries and refuses entry - I think this highlights how welcoming and enjoyable it is at Sancton Wood.

I will be extremely sad the day we have to leave!

I was very nervous when she started in Sept 2021 as my daughter is a pandemic baby and didn't know many adults, but I can honestly say she is very happy at Sancton Wood. The teachers are kind and caring, and the activities are creative and interesting. The staff have been supportive and responsive to any queries I have had, and the app is a good tool which gives me a chance to see what happens each day. I warmly recommend Sancton Wood nursery!

Baby Unicorns (now Caterpillars) has been a wonderful nursery for both my children. I couldn't be more blessed. I got to work feeling complete peace of mind that they are being well looked after, having fun, learning new things and feeling loved and secure. The site on Station Road has a lovely decking area with everything a young toddler could wish for, they explore and play with, and it overlooks the large garden area so they can anticipate the fun they will have when they are a bit older. The team there run a forest school and great at showing the children bugs and creatures. They are extremely creative and very happy to let the children get mucky as they play. My youngest goes to nursery with open arms each day and my eldest always felt special there. There's a large selection of stories and you can see how your kids are getting on with their school app. It's wonderful all round! 10/10.

My son has been in Baby Unicorns for just over a year and, right from day one, he has loved it! He is really happy to go nursery every day to see his teachers and friends. The staff have always been so caring towards him and the other children. I like the fact that the groups are small, and the little ones get the opportunity to do “forest school”. They come up with some really imaginative play and learning ideas - e.g. once they used the whole room to recreate different scenes from “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”, which looked great fun.

Sancton Wood have been absolutely brilliant. Our son joined the nursery just after turning one and he has been a very happy little boy for the last two and a half years. We could not have asked for a more caring, playful, educational environment. We are genuinely impressed and very grateful to the wonderful staff at Sancton Wood for having taken such good care of our son. I cannot recommend Sancton Wood highly enough.

Our son has been in Sancton Wood for the last 4 years, and we have been extremely satisfied with the level of the school and the teachers, who are remarkable! The small size of the school allows the teachers to take personal care of each kid and focus on their special skills and interests. Through their online platform, Tapestry, as parents, we are enabled to follow on a daily base the different activities that the kids are doing, individually or at a class level. We have been impressed by the breadth of topics covered, the experiments carried out, the inspirational and imaginative way used for introducing to the kids our everyday world. Even in the recent unprecedented times, during the lockdown, we have been provided amazing support, through resources, a vigorous weekly plan and we managed to have a better understanding and appreciation of the learning processes followed. We have full trust and respect for the quality of the job done and we definitely recommend the school.

A cosy and stimulating environment for the children to happily grow in. Lots of activities encouraging independence, lots of reading and thought through playtime every day. The staff are very dedicated with excellent communication skills so that you always know about your child’s day. The parents are a lovely community too. I have had three of my children at Baby Unicorns and would highly recommend it.

I love this nursery. I prefer that the classes aren’t too big so the children get more attention. The communication with the teachers is really good also. I feel really comfortable here and my son does too.

Overall Experience
As a family, we have been overwhelmingly impressed by our daughters day to day experiences and our encounters with staff. Having not had any prior nursery experience, our daughter of 2 years -10 months and was allowed to ease in at her own pace. She had already developed a strong bond with her class teacher from having had a home visit and was therefore keen to start. Our key attractions were the small class sizes, the 'family feel' the school provided and that the resources were so accessible for a child to enjoy.

They encouraged my daughter in areas that I didn't know that she needed support in (getting muddy and grubby in forest school or learning to play sociably with her classmates). The cross over with other classes, older and younger than her were really valuable. She was able to develop relationships with other class teachers and looked forward to playing with children in the older class. Thank you. What an amazing place to start school life!

We have been delighted with the staff and the environment at Sancton Wood Nursery. We feel that our daughter has been well nurtured but also challenged and stimulated by the wide range of activities undertaken daily. Our daughter talks about the staff in the room as her friends and she has always looked forward to going into the nursery in the morning. We are incredibly grateful for all of the support that our daughter has been given. Thank you!

Fantastic nursery - both kids have been here. Great facilities, friendly staff, child-focussed, and a nurturing approach to educating kids to a high standard. Progress is communicated very effectively through an app that we access on our smartphones. Staff are very approachable and responsive to queries.
