The Brampton Day Nursery

When I collect my daughter, one of the nursery staff will let me know what she’s been up to, how she’s eaten, napped, nappy changes etc and they spend the time to talk me through everything which is the nice personal touch you receive at the nursery.

Friendly staff, fantastic facilities and a real focus on care and development. My daughter (8 months) has transitioned into nursery so well thanks to the staffs caring and welcoming nature. I’m kept well informed of how she is getting on with regular updates and newsletters. All round a fantastic service!

Our son has been attending the nursery since he turned 1, originally starting with 2 days and recently extending to 3 full days. The nursery facilities are of a high standard with a wide variety of activities run each day. The outdoor areas are well designed and the forest school approach encourages outdoor learning. Our son absolutely loves attending nursery and speaks about other children and staff all the time. He has really bonded with both the staff and children in his room and since attending nursery we have seen such positive development from him. We have already recommended the nursery to friends for their children and will continue to do so for others we know.

My daughter will have attended approximately 1 year. I can't recommend this nursery enough. I started my daughter on two afternoons a week after she had an unforgettable experience with a childminder. I honestly thought she would never settle, never trust another child carer, I certainly never thought she would be happy with me leaving and going back to work. Because of the experienced, well-knowledged staff at the nursery, she settled in, made friends and wasn't afraid to leave me anymore. I was comfortable to extend her time there to full time and return to work. The staff would always give a well-detailed rundown of her day and my daughter would always fill me in on the way home, she was always so excited about going back the next day. She loved all the staff that have come and gone and has always felt happy and comfortable. They do a wide range of activities at the nursery every week, it is fantastic along with the outside area and Forest School. It truly is one of the best places to send a child.

Our daughters have been at the nursery for 3 years and have been very happy and well looked after during this time. The facilities are excellent and well maintained and in particular, the outdoor space is lovely. The activities the staff put on are varied, fun and interesting and the girls always come home with lots of stories about the new things they’ve been up to!

We feel the quality of care the girls have received has been consistently excellent. The staff are caring, supportive and knowledgable and we feel they demonstrate best practice in childcare. There have been many times when we feel they have gone above and beyond to meet our daughters’ needs and we have always felt that they have treated any concerns we may have seriously. Although there have been periods of high staff turnover we do not feel this has negatively impacted in terms of continuity of care.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery: we will be very sad to say goodbye to it when they start school.

Our son spent two mornings a week at this nursery for about 10 months. The care is good and he always enjoyed himself. The facilities are well-kept and feel good quality, and the outside area is great and is well-used. There's a lot to commend this nursery.

However, we did find that the high turnover of staff was a problem. In 10 months we had 3 managers and at least 3 different key workers. He was only there two mornings a week, but the high staff turnover meant that we didn't always feel that the staff particularly knew our son. For us, the restrictive option of morning (8-1) and afternoon (1-6pm) sessions wasn't great.

The final straw came when trying to arrange his 15 hours of universal childcare for when he turned 3. After several weeks of obfuscation, the nursery finally came clean that they can only offer the free 15 hours if parents pay top-up fees to make up the difference between the £4.04/hr they get from the government and their fees. We didn't think this was OK so have moved our son.

We have used the nursery over the last 5 years for both of our children and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Our first child started there at 11 months and settled quickly, the nursery staff continued to help support her independent nature as she progressed through the nursery before school. We feel the nursery prepared her for starting school from first steps to writing. We knew our second daughter would be attending without hesitation. She is very happy and settled and preparing for her journey into the preschool room. Our children are very different characters but have been supported and encouraged to develop within the nursery setting, using approaches to suit their personalities. The only negative over the years have been members of staff leaving, this has been better communicated over the last few years. Overall we have been very happy for our children to attend, they are well cared for and there is a nice balance of structured activities to stimulate and develop, and free play.

The Brampton Day Nursery is excellent. My son has been here for 4 years and is about to leave to start school. I have looked round most of the nurseries in the area and this is by far the best. The garden is amazing, my boys absolutely love being outside in the garden and I love that they are outside as much as possible. The forest school is brilliant and there are always different and varied activities each day. All of the staff are fantastic and have helped to positively manage any difficult behaviours. I cannot recommend this nursery enough, I will be very sad when my son leaves to go to school.

This nursery is fantastic. The staff are amazing and actually know your child so progress reviews are actually worthwhile. The food on offer is varied and is well received by the children. They do plenty of activities including forest school, which our child really enjoys. She also loves the local walks they take the children on.

Perfect place to give your children a good grounding and develop prior to moving on to the next stage of their education.

My son currently attends Brampton Day Nursery and he loves it! He has been at the nursery for 2 years now and is in the 2-3yr room. The different rooms are all well suited for the age ranges and abilities. The staff are always very friendly and welcome my son each morning so that he is settled for the day. The nursery caters very well for my son's dietary requirements, ensuring that he has a variety of meals each day. The garden area is brilliant, and my son especially enjoys the mud kitchen!. There are so many different activities for them to do, including Forest School, music and movement, walks around the village etc. Overall, I am very happy that my son is keen to go into nursery each morning, and he is settled and is kept very busy with all the different things to do!

My daughter has been at The Brampton Day Nursery from the age of 11 months and she is now almost 3 years. I will also send our second daughter there. I have always been extremely happy that we chose to send her there and she has loved her time there. The staff are lovely, it is clean, full of fun and energy and the garden is brilliant. My daughter always enjoys the food and I feel completely confident in her care whilst she is there. The transitions between rooms have been stress-free and smooth. On the rare occasion that I have needed to query anything the team have been very helpful and resolved the matter sensitively and promptly. I would thoroughly recommend the nursery.

Sending our children to nursery was by far the hardest decision we have had to make since becoming parents. We intended on looking at every nursery in our area because we had to make sure we were sending them to the best. We had looked at a few and came away not saying very much. All of that changed when we visited The Brampton Day Nursery. The rooms and resources are so lovely and inspire the children to explore imaginative play, the ladies that work there were all so approachable to both us as parents and the children they care for. And then when we saw the garden we knew this was the place for our two children - you need to see it!! Our children love going to nursery and I love knowing that they aren’t just getting the best care by people who genuinely love my children but they are learning and developing at a rate that wouldn’t have happened without this setting. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough, it will be a sad day when they both eventually have to leave.

My son absolutely loves coming to Brampton Day Nursery. All of the staff are lovely and approachable. He’s always kept busy with lots of different activities and he especially loves being out in the garden.

I have 2 children here. I absolutely love this nursery. The staff are outstanding and it feels very reassuring leaving my children with them to go to work, knowing they will have a great day, in an outstanding environment with access to a beautiful garden, excellent toys and educational opportunities to explore, learn and develop. I would recommend the Wigwam Nurseries in a heartbeat.

Lovely, friendly nursery. Staff are welcoming and the atmosphere is fun, full of imaginative play and learning. The garden is brilliant and enjoyed by the children every day regardless of the weather. I would recommend the nursery to other parents.

My daughter has been attending The Brampton Day Nursery since 2014, just after the current owners took over and the building was renovated. She has grown up as part of the nursery and been through all of the aged rooms. My son now also attends the nursery and has been there for 1 year. Both children are extremely happy there and as a parent, I am confident that they are in the best hands possible. The staff are extremely attentive and willing to listen to ours/children's needs. They have done an excellent job at both entertaining and teaching the children, provided a stimulating, fun and educating experience. I am impressed with their outdoors ethos, provision of structured play and excellent facilities. I completely recommend this nursery.

My son is so happy here. It's such a wonderful nursery. He is greeted by name by all the staff who see him each morning. He enjoys the routine of nursery life and is always happy to tell me about his day. He teaches me songs and games he plays with his friends.

My twin girls love going to nursery. The nursery staff are all very kind and caring without exception. The nursery is very clean and well run and there are always lots of exciting activities and fun toys to play and learn with. The outside space is phenomenal and the girls really enjoy getting stuck in with the Forest School in all weathers. They both really enjoy their food at nursery and have a rounded and healthy diet throughout the day. The leadership and management team at the nursery and also in the under 2s room is outstanding. This nursery is undoubtedly providing my girls with the best possible start in life and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

The preschool children are a small, cohesive, happy band of children.
