The Brampton Day Nursery is located on the High Street in the picturesque village of Brampton.

It provides high-quality childcare in a welcoming, stimulating and caring environment.

The nursery building provides a home from home ethos and each light and airy room is equipped with natural furnishings to a very high specification for the individual age groups they provide for.

It supports children’s interests using the Early Years Foundation Stage and Schematic Play and underpins all care and learning using the Characteristics of Effective Learning.

Staff place high importance on open-ended, heuristic resources and each room is equipped to reflect this; they pride themselves on a child centred and creative curriculum.

At The Brampton Day Nursery, staff are extremely passionate about outdoor learning and endeavour to spend a large part of the day outside; this may be in the impressive nursery garden, where they use "forest school principles" or on a walk in the local area.

Both my daughters have attended The Brampton Day Nursery and both have received brilliant care and support in this setting. My youngest literally lights up with joy when she sees the nursery door open! Staff appears to be very nurturing and attentive, and I have no hesitation in recommending them to
look after anyone’s children.

I would highly recommend Brampton Day Nursery! All of the staff are fantastic, his key persons, in particular, have been fundamental in looking after my son and helping him to settle in and develop around his peers at the nursery. He loves his nursery days and as parents, we feel extremely happy in
the knowledge that he’s being well looked after and cared for when he’s there.

We love this nursery! The staff are amazing. Always communicating and building relationships with the parents as well as the children. The range of activities provided each day indoors and outdoors is fantastic. My daughter always leaves here so happy and can't wait to go back the next day. The meals
and snacks always go down well and are so well balanced. My daughter has learnt so much from attending and comes home with new vocabulary every week. Both my children have loved this nursery and we would highly recommend this nursery to everyone!

This is a warm, open nursery which is thorough in its monitoring and care of the children. They organise lovely activities and have a great outdoor space. I feel lucky to have found a nursery like this for my child.

Brampton Day Nursery is fantastic! The staff are extremely hard working and very professional. The facilities are 2nd to none! My children have always felt safe, happy and have always been excited to go into Nursery.

The Brampton Day Nursery have cared for two of our children from 2017 to the current day. As a first time mother, I was hesitant about sending my child to nursery and returning to work, but everyone made the experience less stressful. The induction sessions are a wonderful chance for the children to
settle and for the staff to get to know your child. The Brampton Day Nursery have always been so accommodating for both my children, and its never been a problem if we wanted to do something slightly different to help with their development or settling. I love hearing my children singing their new favourite songs that they learnt at nursery (thank you nursery for providing me with the correct words to sing along!) Both my children love going into the nursery and are always greeted with a smile.

My daughter has been attending Brampton Day Nursery since May 2020. All of the staff have made us feel very welcome. My daughter was very shy due to lockdown and since attending she has come on in leaps and bounds with her confidence. The staff are happy to keep me updated during the day to ease my
mind on how she is doing. I would highly recommend the manager and her team as they have shown such love and care to my daughter it makes the whole process of sending her a lot easier.

Our daughter joined earlier in the year from a previous nursery where she had been since a baby. This was a big move for her (and us) and I can't thank the team at Brampton Day Nursery enough for making her feel so welcome and loved from day one. Very quickly, our daughter was speaking excitably about
new friends and staff and we have never had a problem of her leaving to go to 'school'. She comes home happy, clean with new learnings daily. The staff are very personable and can't support you enough, even through COVID and nursery closure the team ensured the children were engaged with them via Facebook activities etc.. Highly recommend, we only wish we moved here earlier.

My son has been attending The Brampton Day Nursery full time since he was 11-months-old; they have played a huge part in his development and helped him achieve all of the milestones.
The staff have always been very supportive and understanding of his needs, and he has clearly made strong bonds with
the staff and his nursery friends.
The nursery itself always has high standards, and the setting is wonderful for the children, lots of different areas of play as well as one of the best children's gardens I've seen.
During forest school, my son often does tasks that he would never have been able to do at home. They are always improving the setting and bringing in new exciting things for the children to experience.
My son is very happy there, and I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Brampton nursey has looked after my daughter since she was 6-months-old, I don't need to say anything more, as she now goes into her final year in preschool.
The transition back to nursery after Covid 19 has been excellent, all staff, especially the nursery manager, has gone over and above their usual
duties and I cannot thank them enough.

My eldest went here from March 2015 - August 2019, and my youngest from March 2019 to present. We love the intimate setting of a village nursery and have always been happy with the care and 'education' our children have received there. I will say that, had my eldest not already been at The Brampton
Day Nursery, I would probably not have sent my youngest, this is almost solely due to the frequent turnover of staff. There have been that many managers that I struggle to keep up. The young, inexperienced staff are sometimes more obvious because of the turnover being so often - continuity is a problem.

My son attends the nursery every day and I cannot speak highly enough of the service they offer. When they tell me what they’ve been up to at the end of the day I can’t believe how they’ve managed to fit it all into one day! Music, cooking, painting, stories, the list is endless. They have excellent
outdoor spaces and I love the emphasis on outdoor play, including the Forest School approach.
Food is all freshly prepared on site, varied and nutritious. The staff provide detailed feedback daily at pick up and are always happy to spend time discussing anything in further detail. But most important for me is the wonderful bond the staff and children have. I know my son is in the very best hands and loves being at nursery. He can hardly wait for Monday morning to roll back round again!

My daughter has attended 2 days/week since January 2019 and I have been thoroughly impressed.
She is thriving and really coming on with her speech and development.
The daily handover is detailed with her food and drink, wet/dirty nappies, sleep times etc as well as what she has been doing all day.
When
she had a little bump on the head from playing outside I was impressed that nearly all the staff knew of the incident, so I was very reassured regarding what had happened and the management of a little accident like this.
The best review of all is that since about the 3rd week of my daughter attending she goes running in and waves ‘bye bye’ from the far side of the room.

My daughter first started at the nursery in June at 12 months old. Naturally, she was unsettled initially and we had a lot of tears, but I’ve been extremely impressed with how the staff have helped her settle in, and on only week 3 she’s much more settled and has been joining in with activities and
playing with the other babies which is lovely to hear.
The facilities at the nursery are brilliant, everything is clean, there are different structured activities every day and the food is cooked fresh each day at the nursery.
The staff have been lovely, as a mum, leaving your baby at nursery is hard enough, but they’ve been really reassuring and nothing is too much trouble, even when I’ve phoned to see how my daughter is throughout the day!
When I collect my daughter, one of the nursery staff will let me know what she’s been up to, how she’s eaten, napped, nappy changes etc and they spend the time to talk me through everything which is the nice personal touch you receive at the nursery.

Friendly staff, fantastic facilities and a real focus on care and development. My daughter (8 months) has transitioned into nursery so well thanks to the staffs caring and welcoming nature. Our son has been attending the nursery since he turned 1, originally starting with 2 days and recently extending to 3 full days. The nursery facilities are of a high standard with a wide variety of activities run each day. The outdoor areas are well designed and the forest school approach encourages
outdoor learning. Our son absolutely loves attending nursery and speaks about other children and staff all the time. He has really bonded with both the staff and children in his room and since attending nursery we have seen such positive development from him. We have already recommended the nursery to friends for their children and will continue to do so for others we know.

My daughter will have attended approximately 1 year. I can't recommend this nursery enough. I started my daughter on two afternoons a week after she had an unforgettable experience with a childminder. I honestly thought she would never settle, never trust another child carer, I certainly never thought
she would be happy with me leaving and going back to work. Because of the experienced, well-knowledged staff at the nursery, she settled in, made friends and wasn't afraid to leave me anymore. I was comfortable to extend her time there to full time and return to work. The staff would always give a well-detailed rundown of her day and my daughter would always fill me in on the way home, she was always so excited about going back the next day. She loved all the staff that have come and gone and has always felt happy and comfortable. They do a wide range of activities at the nursery every week, it is fantastic along with the outside area and Forest School. It truly is one of the best places to send a child.

Our daughters have been at the nursery for 3 years and have been very happy and well looked after during this time. The facilities are excellent and well maintained and in particular, the outdoor space is lovely. The activities the staff put on are varied, fun and interesting and the girls always come
home with lots of stories about the new things they’ve been up to!


We feel the quality of care the girls have received has been consistently excellent. The staff are caring, supportive and knowledgable and we feel they demonstrate best practice in childcare. There have been many times when we feel they have gone above and beyond to meet our daughters’ needs and we have always felt that they have treated any concerns we may have seriously. Although there have been periods of high staff turnover we do not feel this has negatively impacted in terms of continuity of care.


We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery: we will be very sad to say goodbye to it when they start school.

Our son spent two mornings a week at this nursery for about 10 months. The care is good and he always enjoyed himself. The facilities are well-kept and feel good quality, and the outside area is great and is well-used. There's a lot to commend this nursery.


However, we did find that the high turnover

of staff was a problem. In 10 months we had 3 managers and at least 3 different key workers. He was only there two mornings a week, but the high staff turnover meant that we didn't always feel that the staff particularly knew our son. For us, the restrictive option of morning (8-1) and afternoon (1-6pm) sessions wasn't great.


The final straw came when trying to arrange his 15 hours of universal childcare for when he turned 3. After several weeks of obfuscation, the nursery finally came clean that they can only offer the free 15 hours if parents pay top-up fees to make up the difference between the £4.04/hr they get from the government and their fees. We didn't think this was OK so have moved our son.

We have used the nursery over the last 5 years for both of our children and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Our first child started there at 11 months and settled quickly, the nursery staff continued to help support her independent nature as she progressed through the nursery before school. We feel
the nursery prepared her for starting school from first steps to writing. We knew our second daughter would be attending without hesitation. She is very happy and settled and preparing for her journey into the preschool room. Our children are very different characters but have been supported and encouraged to develop within the nursery setting, using approaches to suit their personalities. The only negative over the years have been members of staff leaving, this has been better communicated over the last few years. Overall we have been very happy for our children to attend, they are well cared for and there is a nice balance of structured activities to stimulate and develop, and free play.
