Ladybird Day Nursery is a private day care nursery located in the village of Fenstanton, providing care and education for 0-5 year olds from 7:30am – 6:30pm Monday to Friday. The Nursery is ideally located for commuters into Cambridge and London, with direct access to the A14 and M11, and is only a short drive from Huntingdon Train Station.

The Nursery boasts a stunning under 2’s unit which was refurbished in 2019, and offers large and bright rooms for all age ranges to enjoy, whilst providing a comforting home-from-home feel. Ladybird Day Nursery also benefits from a large, enclosed garden, which provides ample opportunities for outdoor learning and exploration.

Ladybird Day Nursery’s approach goes above and beyond the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to foster deep level learning and optimise potential.

They offer a range of unique educational experiences which enable children to become successful, lifelong learners including, Wake up and shake up, a range of bespoke activities which promote your child’s well-being and confidence, and Garden Champions.

Garden Champions is the nursery's own bespoke Above and Beyond Educational Experience gardening activity. This activity extends children’s knowledge of the outdoor environment, habitats, caring for living things, growth cycles and growing vegetation outdoors.

The Nursery Chef prepares all the children’s meals fresh on the premises each day, and the menus have been designed using the latest nutritional software to ensure they are nutritionally balanced, as well as delicious. The Nursery has achieved the Soil Association Food for Life Served Here Bronze Award and are working towards achieving their Silver Accreditation.

The dedicated staff team support children to fulfil their potential through a range of engaging experiences and learning opportunities, which are tailored to each child’s own developmental needs and interests.

My son has been attending Ladybird for the best part of 4 years. He loves it and since day one we feel confident in the care he gets.
Staff are welcoming, some, in fact, most, seem to have great energy and are really personable. His key workers know him well and have offered great advice in challenging
times on any odd occasions there has been concern the response is quick and actioned appropriately.
We will be sad to be leaving in September 2020.

We have used Ladybird for all four of our children, we find the staff very welcoming and friendly and the setting is great.
Our children have loved attending and Ladybird make it a very natural step from their preschool room to foundation stage at school.
The management keep the parents well informed
of all goings-on and the daily feedback is great to understand how the children are and find out what they have been doing.

I chose Ladybird Day Nursery for my nine-month-old son in February 2015. My reasons for doing so was purely down to the homeliness feeling the nursery had, the security of the setting, it's cleanliness, the healthy and varied meals on offer and the friendliness and obvious experience of all the staff.
On top of all this, in my opinion, it was the best nursery I had visited within the area and the best value. My son attended Ladybird Day Nursery until he started school and during the three and a half years he was there, I cannot fault anything about the nursery or its staff. Because my son and I loved the nursery so much my daughter then started in July 2018 and she is still there. Although the nursery has been sold by its previous private owner, I would still highly recommend it. All of the staff are incredibly kind, friendly and experienced and my daughter loves being there, she never complains and is always full of enthusiasm when I pick her up. Leaving your child to go to work is daunting/upsetting enough but knowing that your child is left at Ladybird Day Nursery takes away all of the guilt/anxiety that a parent may have when leaving your child in daycare.

My son has been attending Ladybird since he was about two and a half. He is now five and he has additional needs. The nursery have always cared for him exceptionally, seen the things he can do rather than the things he finds difficult and they have been brilliant at challenging him to take the next
steps so he is as independent and confident as he can be. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff and management have always been very supportive of us as a family. My son loves coming to nursery and the staff have been really good, helping him to join in with the children and helping the other children to understand him so that they can all play and learn together. I often leave him dancing with a group of friends, laughing and having fun. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone. The staff are simply amazing and the children are so well looked after and fed. I think it is a place striving to enable children to thrive and be themselves, and in my opinion, they succeed.

My son has attended Ladybird Day Nursery for three and a half years (he is a September baby so is now one of the oldest at nursery). He absolutely loves it. It makes me happy to know he is so happy and well cared for. I was nervous about going back to work but was reassured how quickly he settled into
nursery life and how staff genuinely cared for him and all of the children. He has really blossomed at Ladybird Day Nursery. There is an amazingly good staff retention rate and my son has a real rapport with those he has 'grown-up' with. My son has a developmental speech disorder and staff have gone above and beyond, doing everything they can to support his speech therapy. Two staff members even attended a Makaton workshop run by Cambridgeshire's Speech and Language service and introduced signing into the preschool day. I must add that the food is delicious, tasty and varied. I will be very emotional the day my son leaves Ladybird Day Nursery and wholeheartedly recommend it to friends.

The most important thing for my husband and is that our son is happy, and he is here, at Ladybird. Now 4, he's been coming since he was 10 months old - pretty much like a second home.
He is well fed, looked after, nurtured, taught new things, encouraged with numbers and letters, and in how to relate
to his peers and the staff. The free-flow policy for the pre-school unit has really suited our son, and we love the outdoor play area.
When we have had any issues, the managers (the staff working directly in the nursery we mean) and our son's key-workers have always worked with us to find common ground and a resolution.
We would definitely recommend Ladybird Day Nursery in Fenstanton.

My children have attended Ladybird Day Nursery since they were 8 months old. One is now in the toddler unit and the other in the preschool unit. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. My children love everything about it. The staff are just lovely, very welcoming and really attend to the needs of all
the children. There’s always a vast range of activities on offer to keep my children busy all day long and they are forever learning new skills. There is a wonderful outdoor space. The food always smells so good and I know my children thoroughly enjoy their meals.
Most importantly my two are always happy to attend nursery.

Our daughter has just turned 4 and started at Ladybird when she was 10 months old, from day one we have always been very impressed with the service provided. The staff at Ladybird are warm, welcoming and above all very caring. It is very clear that they work hard to create strong bonds with the children
and good relationships are formed with parents as well. The staff are all very approachable and key workers are on hand to offer advice or reassurance when needed. Ladybird is a lovely setting, offering a variety of activities to the children, keeping them busy and engaged throughout the day. Most of all our daughter has lots of fun and talks of her time at the setting very fondly. We will be sad to leave in September when its time to start school!

When I pick up my granddaughter it is lovely watching her play.
I think it's amazing at such a young age she is painting etc. I have one of her pictures framed and up on my wall.
All the staff are friendly and make you feel welcome.

My son has recently moved from the toddler unit to the preschool unit and he has transitioned extremely well; all of the staff involved have been brilliant in helping him to settle in; introducing him gradually to the new environment and always with at least one of his friends, and being very attentive
to get him involved in the different activities. He's always very tired but happy at the end of each day, and not in a particular rush to go home, which just shows how much fun he has! I can't praise the Ladybird enough, from the staff to the food, activities and environment; it's extremely supportive in all aspects of my son's wellbeing and development.

Can not fault the nursery, staff, setting, activities or the support I have had from all at the nursery. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. Son really loves the nursery and does look forward to his days that he attends. Son has been at nursery since he was one year old and now in preschool
and every department have helped my son with his development and can not praise everyone enough from management, room leaders, room staff and even the cooks all do a fantastic job.

On the occasions that I pick up our granddaughter, she is always playing happily and the staff are always friendly and helpful as they give the daily feedback. The nursery always seems a happy place and is obviously well structured and well run.
