The Nursery School Charlwood is a bespoke, thoughtfully designed nursery, set in a stunning early 17th century Tudor country house and gardens. Benefitting from a large custom garden and expansive on-site Forest School, The Nursery School Charlwood is a truly special place for children to develop during their early years.

The nursery's approach to early years education is inspired by a range of approaches, including Reggio Emilia, Montessori and over 20 years experience in running and owning nurseries. This has enabled the setting and its highly qualified educators to form a wonderfully creative curriculum.

The Nursery School Company passionately believes in offering children the broadest range of opportunities to allow them to unlock their true potential and to become confident, independent learners. The 'Enrichment Activities' programme includes language, sport and music lessons as well as many wonderful excursions to local farms, shops, fruit picking venues, sensory play sessions.

My son has attended Charlwood House Day nursery for just over a year now. Ever since the tour we came on we were made to feel welcome and everyone was very friendly. The staff go above and beyond to work alongside the parents to help the children progress to the best of their abilities. I would recommend
Charlwood House to anybody who is trying to find a nursery. It was definitely the best choice we made for our little boy.

All three of my children have attended this wonderful nursery, as soon as we walked through the doors for the first time we instantly knew it was the right choice. So much care and time was taken to get to know us as a family and our oldest and youngest children have all flourished at Charlwood House.
Although saddened to leave when it was time for each of them to start school, they were so ready having developed such confidence and all the skills needed to embark on this next chapter. All of our children loved spending time in the outdoors and exploring the extensive grounds making up games with their friends. They would run in so happy every day making it much easier to leave them to go on to work. If you are looking for a nursery that is like an extension of your own family then I would 100% recommend Charlwood House.

I cannot stress enough how wonderful Charlwood House is. My daughter went there for nine months until she started school and now my son is also there. The staff make you feel as if you are part of a big family. Nothing is too much and they are always kind and thoughtful. Both of my children love Charlwood,
to the point that they both have cried when I pick them up because they don’t want to leave. All of the activities they plan are thoroughly enjoyed and outdoor fun is fantastic here. Each time the children move up a class, you get a lovely pack of their work as a keepsake. Education is featured all the way through the nursery and I also feel that the preschool part of the nursery is especially great and the staff really helped prepare my daughter for school. My children and I absolutely love it here.

The nursery is like a home from home for my son, who is very attached to me. He loves doing circle time and enjoying the amazing outside space. His nursery teachers are great, and he really looks forward to seeing them. I would recommend this nursery to everyone looking for childcare. He is very happy

Since COVID-19 we were worried about sending our son back to nursery and how he would get on after being with us for so long and away from other children. The staff at Charlwood put us at ease as they sent us a video on how the nursery was re-organised to reduce this risk and have been very friendly
and our son has loved being back. He has settled back nicely there and loves playing with the other children in his group, whether with dinosaurs indoors or slide and play area outside. The staff are very friendly and take the time to tell us how he is doing. Fantastic place and lovely historical building. They are also flexible with hours and this has helped us a lot.

The staff here are so invested in the children and each of their needs it really is so heartwarming to see.
With my son, although not yet settled as he hasn’t been attending for very long, the staff do everything they can to make the transition as easy as possible. The door is always opened with a
smile and the child is greeted by name.
My son had his first afternoon where he was really happy and the staff were so excited to tell us when we arrived. Just to see the shared happiness showed us we’ve chosen the right placement for him.
They encourage you to call to check in on how they are if you’re anxious and have really gone above and beyond with everything they do, offering to buy a CD that calmed him!
We recently had a family funeral and the nursery were so supportive and allowed us to not feel rushed into coming back to nursery afterwards with a strict deadline of pickup time.
Charlwood House is in a beautiful setting with large outside play areas that the children adore.

This nursery is outstanding. I wish my son had gone here it’s amazing. My daughter skips into nursery every single day. The staff are amazing. So personable and super friendly. They really have got to know my little girl and formed a great friendship and bond. She adores her key workers. The manager
and the whole team and been incredibly supportive and accommodating with my constant change of times and days. They have always been able to accommodate us. The facilities are superb and the outdoor space is a huge asset. Their flexibility is second to none and I have recommended them to all my friends who are looking for nursery placements.

I can’t recommend Charlwood House Day Nursery enough.
After viewing the nursery and it’s grounds I immediately knew it was the right place for my son. The bond the staff have with the children is fantastic. Every staff member is brilliant, and they are so accommodating. Really flexible with add on
days or changing days if needed.
The nursery has been amazing for my son's development and he has come on leaps and bounds since being there.
What I really like the most is the fact it’s an independent nursery and you can tell that. It feels personal and non-corporate which to me is a winner. My son had previously gone to a big chain nursery and it felt very cold. The best thing I did moving him here.

My son loves going to Charlwood House Day Nursery, he has been attending since he was 9 months old and is nearly 2 now. We are welcomed in every day with open arms and we love each and every member of staff. The nursery is situated in lovely grounds and is great for outdoorsy kids, with lots of toys
inside for rainy days too. We originally chose Charlwood because of the flexibility of days for shift workers which really makes Charlwood unique. It is situated on the airport perimeter road which makes life easier for nursery dropoffs on the way to/from work. The staff are tolerant of my "terribly two" year old. Would highly recommend!

My daughter has been going to Charlwood for a year now and loves it! She started when she was 8 months old in Bumblebees and they were so amazing looking after her. Now she is in Caterpillars class and is growing in independence. She loves the outdoor space and a wide range of activities. They continue
to care for her and ensure she is happy at nursery.

This nursery is amazing and would thoroughly recommend. The whole process of my daughter starting the nursery was seamless from enquiring about spaces, viewing the nursery, a very well planned settling in process to her starting.
The staff at the nursery are a complete asset and go above and beyond
they are all so friendly and welcoming. My daughter started this nursery not wanting to leave me and now she runs in very happy asking to stay longer.
The dedication the nursery put in to each child’s learning and development is fantastic and I am so happy with the progress my daughter has made whilst being at nursery.
If you want a nursery that is nurturing, has a dedicated staff team and great facilities this is definitely it.

My son has settled in so nicely to Charlwood House Day Nursery, the staff are so kind and caring and always make sure my son has an amazing time every day he is in their care. The staff make you feel at ease as a parent and are always there to answer any questions you may have. My son couldn't be happier

My eldest went to Charlwood House Day Nursery and thoroughly enjoyed it. My youngest daughter has been there since November and has settled in extremely well. The staff are all lovely and I love that they have lots of open outdoor space for the children to enjoy fresh air.

Charlwood House welcomed both myself and my daughter with open arms following a decision to end an alternative childcare option. The team are so supportive, friendly, understanding and flexible. You are always greeted by smiley and enthusiastic staff. Plenty of varied activities throughout the day and
lovely gardens for the children to play in. I feel my daughter has blossomed in confidence and social interaction from the nursery environment. When I drop her off in the morning, I leave worry free knowing she becomes a part of the Charlwood House family.
