At Reflections Nursery & Forest School, based in Worthing in West Sussex, they do things a little differently.
At this warm and welcoming nursery, staff listen to children’s ideas and believe creativity is as important as literacy and mathematics.
The outdoors is also hugely important to the nursery and there are beech and forest schools to help children learn about their environment through investigative play, and help them to become confident...

Our Son has been enrolled at Reflections since September and has flourished since joining. We feel safe and confident with the care he is receiving and his learning has come on leaps and bounds. The staff are wonderful and build a great rapport with the parents, the children equally trust and have great relationships with the staff members. Couldn't recommend Reflections anymore!
Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know how well we are doing. So happy you are loving being with us here at Reflections. We have loved having you all with us since September. Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback about our fantastic team, we will be sure to share this with them.
Reflections is such a wonderful setting. From the moment we viewed it we felt so welcomed and excited by the space and environment they offer for children. The management team has been amazing and are always on hand to answer any questions. Our daughter has certain dietary requirements and they have accommodated for this so well. My daughter loves her time at Reflections and has settled in so well, she is so confident and her speech is coming on in leaps and bounds. She does a wide variety of activities throughout the day to support her development, and the daily updates and pictures make my day. I am quite an anxious mum and the office and management staff always make time to chat with me and to reassure me. I am so glad we found such a lovely welcoming nursery to send our daughter to.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your lovely review. We have loved having you with us since September and are delighted that you and your daughter are so happy with our beautiful setting, wonderful staff, and their support and fab activities. We will be sure to share your review with our team.
If you are looking for a nursery where children can be children (play outdoors, enjoy wildlife, mud, plants and exploration, where they can bake things, have messy fun, learn about themselves and what they can do with their bodies, learn to share with peers, show kindness and generally be free to follow their curiosity), then I believe this is the best nursery in the area. I have been sending my children to Reflections Nursy & Forest School for a long time (since 2017) and have enrolled to send my youngest (currently due our fifth baby in March) there come September 2024. I have seen many changes but their outlook, ethos and outstanding care for my kids has never wavered. Yes, if you want a nursery that leads them towards full-time education, with a more 'teaching' style, then this is probably not the one for you - but in my opinion, there is plenty of time for that, for now, let them play!
Every day the children are doing a new activity; drawing, baking, reading, singing or playing with the toys.
When we go to pick her up she loves showing us around the rooms to see what they have been doing! Her language and confidence have grown so much, I believe due to such a warm community approach from the management and staff.
The staff are so welcoming and give thorough feedback at the end of each day. I am so thankful we chose Reflections as a place where our daughter spends her week, it is a joy to drop and pick her up!
My son has attended this nursery for nearly a year and he absolutely loves it! The staff are really caring and friendly and keep us informed of his daily activities. He also goes to forest school once a week which is his favourite day. He does loads of creative work, baking, outside play, building, role play, all sorts. Would definitely recommend it.
They are great! Organised, nice to the kids, lots of fun every day and lots of variety. We really like it and the kids do too. Always difficult at first but they pushed through and now love it. Always ok to park too which helps!
For example, the love and care shown towards our son by every member of staff is amazing. I feel they really know him.
Educational experiences are exemplary. It is clear staff are responsive to children’s interests and know how to plan and deliver quality experiences that broaden learning. The rooms are large, light and airy, and always carefully laid out with an amazing array of exciting resources.
My son loves the garden and laughs whenever we talk about it at home.
We receive lovely messages throughout the day detailing what our son is doing. We greatly look forward to the evening post which shares photos of the day.
The food always sounds delicious and my son devours it. Great, fresh ingredients and some new flavours for him to try.
My son, now 4, has been at Reflections since June 2023 (7 months) upon us moving into the area. He settled very quickly and seemed very happy going in every day. It's sometimes difficult to get him to leave, which is a very positive sign! The facilities are amazing, with a huge garden for the kids to explore. He loves forest school, and it's the highlight of his week. The range of educational activities that take place each and every day is something I never had as a kid and I love the joy that it brings to him when we ask him about it afterwards. Communication with Reflections has been amazing from day one and the staff are friendly, welcoming, supportive and well, just fantastic. The use of the app for daily updates on what the kids have been up to is the highlight of my day and the regular progress reports are also great. I honestly cannot find fault with Reflections and will be sending my 11-month-old in a couple of years as well.
I have both my children at Reflections and both children are thriving and learning each and every day they are there. The nursery supports in all ways possible, both at home and at nursery, and is always keeping close relationships with the parents and children. We had tried a different nursery previously and had a negative experience and was nowhere close to the standard that Reflections hold. I really could not recommend reflections enough!
(The price of childcare in general in the UK is ridiculous so no nursery would get 5 stars for value for money!)
Very happy with the nursery and how my daughter is settled there. She enjoys her days so can only be a positive. Easy to message the team be it staff in her room or management and to book and notify leave and additional days.
Reassuring me that he’s having a good day. I’ve seen such a positive change in my son and seen how his confidence with others has grown in such a short time period. This is no ordinary nursery and the level of care and attention to the children is phenomenal I particularly like the calm energy within the nursery, the home-cooked nutritious food and the lovely outside playing areas.
Very pleased with Reflections and the care they provide our son and daughter. Would like to see them be a little more proactive - for example, we had to encourage more support for our son who found joining and then moving rooms very unsettling. Once we had spoken about this with the relevant staff, he flourished. It would also be nice to see staff a bit more forthcoming to take our children into their rooms on days when they are a little upset about drop off (the baby room did this really well). Overall though, I would say this is an excellent setting and one where we can trust our children will be safe, well cared for and have fun.
My son loves going to Reflections. The staff are very friendly and supportive towards our son. Despite him learning English as a second language, the team out there is very helpful to him and helps him learn swiftly. They give instant feedback to us which is absolutely great too! We are glad we chose Reflections as a nursery for our son!
I trust my daughter's key worker implicitly and get a sense she genuinely cares for - not just my child - but all the children in her section.
A highly conscientious nursery, always looking to improve and better the lives of our little ones. Would highly recommend it.
My daughter has been attending Reflections for 5 months and it has been fantastic. It took her a little while to settle in and their communication and flexibility made the whole experience so much less stressful. We get lovely updates throughout and at the end of each day which gives us peace of mind, and it is lovely seeing how much our daughter gets up to and how much fun she has. The staff are all wonderfully friendly, helpful and so committed to the little ones. Would definitely recommend it.
Reflections Nursery is a great place for my children, they enjoy themselves massively every day. The staff is always very caring, organising different educational and fun activities for the children daily. I love the fact that my children enjoy the outdoors every day, especially the Forest School! The only thing that I don't think they are very strong at is literacy and numeracy. Some children will go to school at the early age of 4 and while I strongly believe that parents are responsible for the majority of their preparation, it would be helpful to have slightly more support from the educators in Reflections.
Staff are very caring and I feel my child is very loved at Reflections. The nursery's values are very much aligned with ours and we can see how our child has grown in confidence there. The activities provided are great and most importantly, staff respond quickly to parents' feedback when suggestions/requests are made.
They are more curious and thoughtful children as a result of being at Reflections.
I feel like she has definitely excelled in all her milestones thanks to being at nursery and around an educational environment from such a young age.
