As a parent of a child with special education needs, Busy Bees at Eastbourne and their team have been more than accommodating towards meeting his individual requirements. His key worker updates me daily with his progress and the communication is excellent. They have always shown true professionalism to their roles and I trust that my child is in good hands whilst he attends nursery. The nursery team go above and beyond to help parents and really care about every child.
My daughter has been in the Busy Bees at Eastbourne family since she was seven months old, she is now nearly four. All the staff are welcoming and created an environment that is nurturing, creative, educational and most importantly fun. She really enjoys going to nursery and talks about all her friends and "teachers". I love getting the photos and updates about what she is doing and she tells me what she has learnt, how she has cooked or played in the garden and what hairstyle her "teachers" did for her. My son previously went to the nursery and enjoyed his time there. We really appreciate Busy Bees at Eastbourne being an important part of our lives and helping our babies, toddlers and preschoolers grow into well balanced and happy children. Meals and snacks are cooked and prepared fresh on site. Nappies are included in the cost, which is a very reasonable rate. The opening hours of 07:30 am - 18:30 pm allows us to work without worry over being late to collect her.
I have sent both my children to Busy Bees Eastbourne and highly recommend the nursery. The nursery opens earlier and closes later than others allowing me to maintain my current working hours. The management and staff are all very caring and friendly people. Everything seems very organised and I feel they help prepare the children in pre-school well for their next step to school. They also adapted very well during the pandemic. Always ensuring all precautions and safety measures in place for children, parents and staff.
This was our first nursery experience which was started right at the beginning of the pandemic. Considering how anxious we were as first time parents are when leaving your children at nursery for the first time, the manager and the staff made us feel so at ease with the situation and not silly for walking out in tears on the first drop off! It has probably been a lot different to the usual experience, as in we can't go in and see what our little one has been doing but we don't feel like we are missing out in the slightest. The staff keep us informed all the time and it is so lovely to see what our daughter has been learning and hearing how much fun she has with all her friends. Nutrition played a big part in our choice of nursery, so having an on-site chef has been great especially with the variety of foods available. You know you have picked a good nursery when you ask your child what she wants to do on a non-nursery day and it is always nursery!
My son has really flourished attending nursery. The app they use is excellent as you get updated throughout the day with pictures and information. The staff are nice and always take the time to give you an update on how the day has gone when you pick up. Overall really pleased!
Very happy with the service at Busy Bees. The staff are always willing to go the extra mile to fulfil my needs.
The nursery is lovely and my son loves attending. The staff are really friendly and caring. He loves going out in the garden and running around even more in these difficult times the staff have done a great job of keeping all kids happy and safe. The food is cooked on-site by the chef and he always speaks about the food he has eaten at nursery. A huge thank you. Keep up the good work. I would recommend this setting a million times over.
The management team work very hard alongside parents and staff.
We are very happy with Busy Bee's.
Like any other parent, I worried a lot about my son settling in the nursery. I had an impression that a place which looks after so many children in no way could provide that care which a child is used to being at home. And here I am, very glad to say that Busy Bees Eastbourne has proved me very wrong. The manager has guided me and comforted me to an extent which made me feel better in so many ways. She stood beside me like another mum who exactly understood what I was going through while my son cried for hours when I left him in the nursery. My son's key person is such a fine young lady! Very professional and at the same time has got that touch of warmth. She would leave no stone unturned to keep my son happy and also make sure he is fed and rested. His buddy key person is always there to share my worried and gives me invaluable advice. The team is never annoyed ever if I phone 7 times during the day. I am so happy to be able to send my son to Busy Bees.
Our connection with Busy Bees Eastbourne started in 2013 when our daughter joined at 9 months old, she attended the nursery all the way through to preschool where she had a lovely graduation ceremony before leaving for infant school. We were always pleased with the development and support we received during our time with Busy Bees so when our son was due to start nursery this was the only choice for us. We already had a very good relationship with all staff members and relaxed in the knowledge that some of the same key workers who looked after our daughter would also look after our son. He is still with Busy Bees now progressing through the rooms as his sister did and hope he will be there until he starts infant school as well. The manager and assistant manager are very approachable and deal with any concern or queries with the urgency. The menu choices are great and allows children to try a variety of different foods.
Negatives: Middle group - since moving to older children group (Feb 2018), there has been limited communication, I am not convinced that staff know and support my child well enough and they are not always able to feedback to me what she enjoyed doing during the day, no contact with key-worker, child often has been sent home with dirty clothes and dirty face (food or/and paint marks) even though I have been providing spare clothes. All these issues have been addressed with the manager and I was reassured that they will take note of it.
As a setting we take all parental concerns seriously. We welcome parental feedback both positive and negative. When any issue arise this information enables me to address this quickly. We are glad we have been able to reassure you and rectify the concerns you had swiftly.
I've had no worries about me leaving my children with staff at Busy Bees. They are growing and developing into very confident children.
We were invited to a Mothers Day tea party and at Christmas, my son received the most wonderful present. The staff are very patient, my son doesn't like to sit still even if it's for food.
He has made lots of friends and whilst he still sometimes gets upset when I drop him off, he does enjoy his days at nursery.
I love all the activities they do, including inviting parents to tea parties and parents evenings. I can't thank the staff enough for all the help and support they have provided over the years. We will be sad to leave in August when he starts school and will definitely recommend!
The Nursery is excellent, and we have nothing but good things to say about it. The manager and her team are professional, caring and thoughtful.
Our Children have both loved attending the Nursery, and we could not be more pleased with how they have been educated.
Really bright and friendly place, staff are excellent and always on hand to discuss the babies day and give feedback. Great to have a parking area to drop off and pick up safely. Loads of different activities and safe outdoor area for the children.
Little girl has been going here for 2 years and can not fault them at all. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, the management team within the rooms are second to none and the admin office and manager can deal with my questions with ease. Never had a problem with miss billing and I feel the pricing is fair and reflects on the high standard of nursery and food. But most important of all is that my little girl is happy and content from when she arrives to when she's goes home. Keep up the amazing work.
My son, who has both medical needs and autism is supported fantastically by the staff at Busy Bees, they have also been supportive of me. He is happy to go to preschool each day and that's all I want.
My baby boy has just settled into this nursery. He has started in the baby room and he loves it. He had settling-in sessions before his start date and I think they really supported him as well as myself. I feel that my boy is well looked after and he comes home so tired. My older daughter is in preschool and has been at this nursery since she was nine months and has been looked after so well that I didn't hesitate at putting my baby boy in the same place. The manager is welcoming and everyone has a smile on their face, children included. The staff are happy to answer questions and support my children and me as a parent.

Meet the Team (1)

Hi, my name is Ashley and I have been a part of the Busy Bees family for many years now.
I have over 15 years experience working with children. I became the Manager at this Nursery in April 2019. I have my own little girl who is at school so I understand the difficulties working parents have and also how important links are between nursery and home.
I look forward to meeting and welcoming new families to our newly refurbished nursery in Eastbourne.
