Our connection with Busy Bees Eastbourne started in 2013 when our daughter joined at 9 months old, she attended the nursery all the way through to preschool where she had a lovely graduation ceremony before leaving for infant school. We were always pleased with the development and support we received
during our time with Busy Bees so when our son was due to start nursery this was the only choice for us. We already had a very good relationship with all staff members and relaxed in the knowledge that some of the same key workers who looked after our daughter would also look after our son. He is still with Busy Bees now progressing through the rooms as his sister did and hope he will be there until he starts infant school as well. The manager and assistant manager are very approachable and deal with any concern or queries with the urgency. The menu choices are great and allows children to try a variety of different foods.

Positives: lots of different activities, friendly staff and easy to approach the manager, very good experience when my daughter has been in Babes (Nov-Feb) - great communication, excellent carer-child ratio, very good introductions system, I felt well informed of how my daughter was doing, developing
and involved in my child care, communication with key-worker was outstanding and we managed to settle in my daughter smoothly into daily routines.
Negatives: Middle group - since moving to older children group (Feb 2018), there has been limited communication, I am not convinced that staff know and support my child well enough and they are not always able to feedback to me what she enjoyed doing during the day, no contact with key-worker, child often has been sent home with dirty clothes and dirty face (food or/and paint marks) even though I have been providing spare clothes. All these issues have been addressed with the manager and I was reassured that they will take note of it.

My son loves going to the nursery. All of the staff know him even though he only does one morning a week.
We were invited to a Mothers Day tea party and at Christmas, my son received the most wonderful present. The staff are very patient, my son doesn't like to sit still even if it's for food.

My son has been with this nursery since he was 17 months old, starting in the babies room. The staff have been fantastic, helping to potty train by the time he turned two, learning to talk in sentences and numbers and alphabet by the time he was three too!
He has made lots of friends and whilst he
still sometimes gets upset when I drop him off, he does enjoy his days at nursery.
I love all the activities they do, including inviting parents to tea parties and parents evenings. I can't thank the staff enough for all the help and support they have provided over the years. We will be sad to leave in August when he starts school and will definitely recommend!

We have had a long association with this Nursery, with both our Daughter and Son attending over the last 8 years.
The Nursery is excellent, and we have nothing but good things to say about it. The manager and her team are professional, caring and thoughtful.
Our Children have both loved attending
the Nursery, and we could not be more pleased with how they have been educated.

Really bright and friendly place, staff are excellent and always on hand to discuss the babies day and give feedback. Great to have a parking area to drop off and pick up safely. Loads of different activities and safe outdoor area for the children.

Little girl has been going here for 2 years and can not fault them at all. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, the management team within the rooms are second to none and the admin office and manager can deal with my questions with ease. Never had a problem with miss billing and I feel the pricing
is fair and reflects on the high standard of nursery and food. But most important of all is that my little girl is happy and content from when she arrives to when she's goes home. Keep up the amazing work.

My son, who has both medical needs and autism is supported fantastically by the staff at Busy Bees, they have also been supportive of me. He is happy to go to preschool each day and that's all I want.

My baby boy has just settled into this nursery. He has started in the baby room and he loves it. He had settling-in sessions before his start date and I think they really supported him as well as myself. I feel that my boy is well looked after and he comes home so tired. My older daughter is in preschool
and has been at this nursery since she was nine months and has been looked after so well that I didn't hesitate at putting my baby boy in the same place. The manager is welcoming and everyone has a smile on their face, children included. The staff are happy to answer questions and support my children and me as a parent.

Ashley McGhie

Job Title: Centre Director Joined: 2010

Hi, my name is Ashley and I have been a part of the Busy Bees family for many years now. 


I have over 15 years experience working with children. I became the Manager at this Nursery in April 2019. I have my own little girl who is at school so I understand the difficulties working parents have and also how important links are between nursery and home.


I look forward to meeting and welcoming new families to our newly refurbished nursery in Eastbourne.
