A child-centred approach is taken by all Busy Bees settings, a company that was formed in 1983 after three families became frustrated at the lack of childcare they decided parents should be able to expect.

Both my daughter and I have had an excellent experience with Busy bees. From the day we came to see the nursery the staff went above and beyond to ensure my daughter had the days that suited us best. Every member of staff have been friendly, kind and understanding and everything is done in the child's
best interests. There is always a new fun activity for the children to get involved in and parents are always kept in the loop. My daughter has learnt a lot in the preschool room she can write names and is getting great with numbers. She has been encouraged to try new foods and plays with lots of children and her confidence has grown massively. We will be sad to leave Busy Bees but it has been a great step towards school!

Busy Bees in Thames Ditton is a wonderful nursery. All of the staff are a pleasure to deal with, from the management team through to the staff looking after each of the age groups. Our eldest went to the preschool from 2018 to 2019 and our youngest is currently there in the middle room. Both boys absolutely
love it. There's a lovely big garden and all the staff go above and beyond to make the children feel safe and happy. It's the genuine sense of care that makes it so special. When our eldest broke his arm, one of the nursery staff came to the hospital with my wife to help look after our baby, thank you so much again! This meant so much to us and really sums up what wonderful people they are. We love the nursery and feel very lucky to have had our children there.

Really happy with the excellent standard of care and the brilliant staff at Busy Bees in Thames Ditton. They’re always smiling, always positive and I’m so impressed with their continuous hard work. My 2-year-old loves going to nursery and I feel confident that my littlest will also have a great experience
when she starts there next month. So grateful to have such a fantastic nursery in our community.

Our little boy started Busy Bees at the end of 2020 just after his 2nd birthday. This was his first time at nursery and I was unsure how he would get on having had 2 years of full-time mummy attention. Thanks to the incredibly positive, kind, caring and fun staff at Busy Bees he has been well and truly
settled and happy from day 1. His days here are engaging and full of fun activities and his key workers are talked about as his ‘friends’ daily in our house. His speech, independence and willingness to try new things have all come on leaps and bounds and he is truly thriving from his time here. I know I am a very lucky mummy to have found this nursery and had such a wonderfully positive experience of sending my little one off on his own for the first time. We can’t thank everyone there enough for making this transition as smooth as it has been. Knowing my little one is so happy while I am at work has been the best feeling and made this change in our lives a truly positive one.

My son started at the nursery in September 2020 and from the outset, he absolutely loved it. The staff made a real effort to get to know our son and us as a family. His speech has significantly improved since joining and when I collect him, he comes bounding out, so happy. I would highly recommend the
nursery. The staff are wonderful and so caring for each individual child and we cannot wait for our daughter to join him in September.

Our son started in the baby room and has now moved through all three rooms. His sister has now joined him and is cared for by the same team who looked after him at her age. Our experience with each room has been so personal and so warm that we've been sorry to leave, but each room change has met with
a similarly high level of personal care and attention. The staff at Busy Bees seem to genuinely care and get to know each child - and so their individual needs are met, not just in all ways practical but as personalities in their own right. As a parent, the staff don't just give you the impression that they know your child and understand their needs, but that they enjoy their company and for me that's worth so much. My son certainly feels the same way. They have fun, they are affectionate, and they make an effort to share that enthusiasm and energy with the parents and it speaks so highly of the nursery as a whole. That personal connection to the child is our priority in care at this age.

Both our children attend Busy Bees in Thames Ditton. In addition to the friendly and caring environment with a strong focus on the EYFS, they have a massive garden separated into dedicated areas per room where the children play most days (weather permitting) and arrange ad hoc activities and events
e.g. the Summer Fair, Christmas Party, Christmas Concert, Mother's Day Tea and Harvest Festival Collection. There has been a very low turnover of staff and we have developed a good working relationship with everyone in the rooms and office. The nursery managed the return after lockdown exceptionally well and offered additional assistance to support the transition back to normal nursery life and routine. We are very happy for our children to attend the nursery and have recommended it to our friends many times.

We are really pleased with Busy Bees Thames Ditton. The staff are really friendly, caring and attentive and the centre is well run and managed. We like receiving the detailed feedback via the online portal as well as the summary provided at collection. The facilities are excellent with lots of outside
space and toys for the children to play with. There is a lot of events and activities organised throughout the day to keep the children engaged and various educational sessions to help them learn. We researched various nurseries in Thames Ditton and are very happy that we chose Busy Bees, Thames Ditton.

My child has been attending Busy Bees for 18 months. In that time I have found the staff to be caring and intuitive. I feel comfortable asking them for advice and discussing my child’s progress with them. They have worked hard to encourage my child to try new foods and grow in confidence and I have
no hesitation in recommending their care to any local parents. The best testament is the fact that my child runs into nursery without looking back. If my child is happy, I’m happy.

I have been a parent at Busy Bees Thames Ditton since June 2015, my youngest is still at the nursery. Both my children have enjoyed and thrived at Busy Bees. The staff in all aged rooms have been fantastic (my eldest started when he was 9 months), looking after their needs, encouraging their learning
and development in a fun way and encouraging their friendship. The outside space, separated by class, was a real plus when we first looked round and the fact that they use it all year round is brilliant.

My two grandsons attend this nursery. The nursery has very high standards in terms of care, play, communication, safeguarding, hygiene and nutrition. The boys come home talking of their experiences, friends, staff and stories. As a grandparent occasionally dropping off and picking up I am grateful for
the free and spacious car park directly opposite and the library next door! The nursery is in the centre of the village and has a sizeable garden for play and fresh air. I couldn’t be happier.

We were recommended Busy Bees by friends of ours and we're so pleased we followed their advice and chose it for our son. He loves it there and has the best time. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly. Their warmth really shines through when we do drop off and collection. My son especially loves
playing in the spacious garden.
We think they handled the reopening of the nursery after lockdown extremely well. We are very impressed by the safety measures they have put in place.

One minor gripe is that the business administration can at times be a little disappointing.

I’m so happy we found Busy Bees! My son was really upset by an incident at his previous nursery and felt nervous about attending especially after lockdown. Busy Bees couldn’t have been more reassuring or welcoming. In the short time, he has attended my son has grown in confidence, made new friends and
come to love the staff. He goes in with a big smile on his face and comes home telling us what a great day he’s had. What more could we ask for! Thanks, Busy Bees !!

I have nothing but good things to say about this nursery. The staff are friendly and attentive and they listen to your concerns and tailor the child’s care accordingly. My son's confidence has really grown in the time he’s been there and he always comes home happy and excited about the day he has had.
The staff have handled the kids return after lockdown brilliantly and safely, I have never once worried about my child’s safety. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.124)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.124) out of 10 for Busy Bees Thames Ditton is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Busy Bees Thames Ditton is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.249 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Thames Ditton is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 89 number of registered child places is 17.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 17.8 = 0.449
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
