The Old Barn Day Nursery & Forest School

My son's development has grown leaps and bounds since starting and he always comes home a happy little boy. The staff are very attentive and caring and provide the children with lots of enrichment and fun! Leah, my son's key worker is just fabulous and he's built such a lovely rapport with her. The forest school run by Lorraine is such a wonderful addition and provides such great outdoor skills and activities. The nursery have also held great little parties (summer, Halloween etc) for the children and family which has been so welcoming. We are incredibly happy with nursery and know our son is very happy here.

We couldn't be happier with Teddie's nursery. The staff go above and beyond daily to make sure he has fun and learns more and more every day. We couldn't be more pleased with his development. Special mention and Laura and Amber who are fantastic.

My daughter has been with the nursery for almost 2 years now and she absolutely loves the Old Barn. The facilities are fantastic and the care is second to none. The Forrest School is exceptional and the effort that goes into planning all of the activities is really well done. They spend a lot of time in nature and are often taken for trips to the park and other excursions. The teachers keep in regular contact with parents with the use of an app, which I love, seeing what the children get up to each day so that you can prompt conversations about their day. Overall, great nursery with a great team and management providing top level care for our children. Couldn't be happier with them.

The old barn day nursery never fail to impress us, our son has been there for almost a year now, and he always goes in excited and leaves super happy! He has grown so much with confidence and kindness. They are always playing outside, learning new development and early life skills. He really loves going to nursery, and we love nothing more. The girls are great with communication with us, and always updating us on Arlo's progress and what he's done throughout the days he attends. Couldn't thank them enough!!

We had to move our son from a previous nursery due to a home move and I was worried about so much change in such a short space of time (he also had a little sister arrive). However, the staff at the nursery were amazing at helping him settle in and I couldn't be happier with the move. He has made strong connections with the staff as well as forming bonds with other children. The forest school is amazing, they spend so much time outside enjoying a wide range of activities. We are so pleased we got a space at the Old Barn and know he is being very well looked after.

My child is thriving at old barn nursery. She started in the baby room and settled in the toddler room for the last 3 months. The staff have been very supportive and my child always appears happy , relaxed and well cared for. She is developing new interests and skills due to the structured activities and careful planning of the daily activities. Leah and Lorraine have been absolutely wonderful and the manager Laura is always responsive and attends to any concerns. I am very happy my child attends this nursery and continue to recommend it.

We could not be happier with the Old Barn. Our little boy has developed so much since joining over a year a half ago, and he always comes back smiling. The team are amazing and really care for the children, but also us parents. We've recently had another baby, and their support has meant so much.

Our boy loves Forest School, and the children spend a lot of time outside, rain or shine! I really feel this is what sets them apart from other nurseries in the area. Could not recommend the Old Barn more!

My son spent 3.5 years at the Old Barn and he had such a great experience that my daughter is starting soon. It has such a homely feel and the children really do build lovely bonds with the staff that is very clear to see! The gardens and the forest school are amazing! They spend so much time outside and really focus on different learning experiences and opportunities. They do loads of messy play activities, have focused and individual learning goals, visit the park and places on the high street, have visits from police officers / firemen, help with preparing for school etc. An app is also used which provides updates on sleep, food, toilet etc as well as providing photos and details on things they have been doing. I honestly highly recommend the nursery to anyone!

They offer unique experiences such as having a fire truck visit! The activities are thoughtfully planned, encouraging curiosity and independence.

My daughter started at the baby room in the Old Barn just two months ago and I couldn't be happier with the place. She has settled in so well, and that is down to the excellent care and attention from the entire team (to both my daughter and me!) The settling in process and the communication has been brilliant from day 1, and I am never worried when I drop her off - I can see how well she is cared for and how much fun she has, and I am always reassured by messages from her key worker. It's always nice when I find them in the garden at pick up, and hear about the days activities - they're always doing something new and the forest school is a huge plus. I love seeing how confident and comfortable my daughter is becoming at the Barn - my huge thanks to the entire team!

Great nursery, lovely staff, lots of engaging activities for the children and they spend lots of time outdoors. Very well managed and very approachable. Children love to be there and bond with the other children and staff

Our little boy has really enjoyed going to The Old Barn Day Nursery. He enjoys all the activities especially the forest school. The team are great, they keep us regularly updated with what he is doing and his development progression.

We're so delighted we picked The Old Barn for our little boy, it offers just the right blend of educational play, gentle development and wholesome fun for our child. He runs into nursery each morning, excited to see his friends and looking forward to the day ahead. The activities (forest school, rugby tots and water play) are always a hit! But, for us, the most important aspect of his care is the team. The manager and the fantastic team at The Old Barn are always welcoming and warm, he's cuddled to sleep (on the days he needs it) and kind but firm boundaries have really supported our little boy in growing into the toddler he is today. We cannot thank you or recommend you highly enough.

My son has been attending The Old Barn Day Nursery for nearly two years, starting just after his 1st birthday. The nursery has been fantastic in meeting his needs and supporting his growth and learning. He began in the baby room, where the setup provides a dedicated space for babies to develop, including their own outdoor area separate from older children. At 16 months, he transitioned to the pre-toddler room, a spacious environment that encourages children to learn and grow at their own pace. The key workers in each room consistently provide detailed updates on his progress when we pick him up. The nursery also offers a varied food menu, allowing children to explore new tastes and develop healthy eating habits. He enjoys weekly activities like Rugby Tots, Baby Boppers, and Forest School, making his experience well-rounded and enriching.

The Old Barn Nursery has been an excellent experience, our son has been going for a while and really enjoys his time there. The team is fantastic and they are all very caring, kind and friendly. Thank you.

My daughter has been going to Old Barn Nursery for 18 months now and loves it there. The staff are all lovely and the Manager does a great job of running the setting and always looking for improvements. The forest school is one of the highlights of the nursery and has been great for my daughter's development. They offer a wide great range of activities and are always out in the garden and regularly have trips out of the setting too. Would highly recommend this nursery!

My daughter enjoys going to The Old Barn Pre Prep (and enjoyed her time at the Nursery too). She has strong bonds with the ladies who care for her; they are very loving and work to encourage her to behave well, to listen and to play well with her peers. They note her abilities and try to stretch her to recognise more letters and even begin to try to write her name. She loves the football classes and Forest school activities and going out and about. My son attended the setting too and they provided a great foundation for his time at school. I think the overall owners of the nursery should invest more and support their wonderful staff better.
