The Old Barn Pre-Prep is a private day care setting located in Banstead.

It is open full-time from 8:00am – 6:00pm, caring for children from three to five years.

The pre-prep is situated on the High Street, with its sister Nursery located on Woodmansterne Lane. Both sites have access to local towns and cities via the M25 and there is easy access by train for travel into London.

The Old Barn Pre-Prep provides an indoor and outdoor environment. The garden is a fantastic open space which allows the children to explore the world around them. Extending on their outdoor provision, children take trips over to the Nursery site located on Woodmansterne Lane where the children can partake in some Forest School Sessions on a weekly basis. There is a trained leader to open the children to real life experiences such as woodwork and campfires.

Staff encourage parent’s contribution to their child’s learning and ensure children develop skills and are well prepared to start school. They offer Parent's Evening throughout the year to continuously speak about their child's development so the staff can ensure each child's individual development is being catered for. They also organise exciting events throughout the year such as summer parties, Mother's Day events, Father's Day events and at the end of the year they hold a brilliant graduation event for the children to say their farewells before starting their exciting new adventure.

The Nursery and Pre-Prep offers children nutritionally-balanced, home-cooked meals. The cook freshly prepares the meals Monday-Friday.

I moved my son to The Old Barn due to personal reasons and it was the best decision I have ever made. Every aspect of the nursery is simply outstanding, all the staff genuinely care about each child and their needs. The forest school, trips, meals are all above expectations and my son always wakes up
ready to go and enjoys it every day. The staff and children are a credit to 'The Old Barn Brand.'

I regularly come with mum to the Pre-Prep to collect a child and I am always blown away by all of the things the children are getting up to. The staff are always involved and the children look very happy. The little girl I come to collect always has pictures to bring home or has told me many things
she has done like cooking and going out.

I have been really impressed with the amount of different activities organised at The Old Barn. My child always has something new to tell me about when I collect him. Leaving him here with the quality staff is easy even though I found it hard at first the girls really help everyone settle in great.
My child can’t wait to get to nursery and that’s the best and most honest review of all! Thank you, everyone, at The Old Barn!

I am so happy that we found Old Barn Pre-Prep for my daughter. Since her first day at nursery she has always had a great time. She loves her friends and teachers.
Staff are always so friendly and the communication between parent/teacher is great!
One of the aspects I like the most about the nursery
is all the trips out the children do. I think taking them out often is so healthy and important for their development. Overall my husband and I are very happy with Old Barn.

My daughter started at The Old Barn Nursery when she was one and she now attends the pre-prep. She has always been happy there and the staff are very caring and attentive. The facilities are excellent, particularly the outside space, and there are always lots of activities on offer. The staff take a
real pride in what they do and the kids are clearly fond of them. It offers an ideal childcare solution for working parents, as it's open throughout the holidays. I'd definitely recommend it for those looking for a nursery in Banstead!

My son has been extremely happy at The Old Barn Pre-Prep. He has developed from a shy quiet boy who didn’t like going to nursery to a confident little boy who is very comfortable at pre-prep.

My son has joined this whole nursery since he was 1. He came to pre-prep at the beginning of this year and although supposed to transition over a month to ease him in, by the end of day 1 did not want to go back to baby school. The nursery was very good at working with us and got him in full time within
a week.


He loves being at big school and has definitely got him ready for school in September. All the children seem to be ready and willing to discuss changes and know who will be at school with them.


I feel the best start to school for my son and think even friends going to different schools, he will see and keep in touch with.


The staff are great and definitely know how to engage with the children which makes them confident and happy kids.

My daughter thoroughly enjoys her time spent at The Old Barn Pre-Prep. She has made a strong friendship group and really enjoys all the different activities and visits she gets to do with these friends. My daughter has come along so much since joining The Old Barn Day Nursery Pre-prep. Her verbal and emotional improvements are brilliant. She is able to do basic calculations and know all of her letters and has started to string words together. The staff are brilliant. They are so warm and friendly.
Not only to me but my daughter. In her words, it is her second home.

My son loves pre-prep and asks to go when he isn't there. He has come on leaps and bounds since going to The Old Barn in both his capabilities and confidence.
My son has made some lovely friends at pre-prep and his social skills are great thanks to him and his teachers. My son loves the excursions
and sporty tots as well as the outdoor equipment. I couldn't be happier with all the support my son has had at pre-prep and couldn't recommend it enough to anyone I come across. I will be devasted when my son leaves in September for school, but also know that nowhere else could have better prepared him.

I come quite regularly to collect my niece due to my sister's work pattern and it's really lovely to see how happy she is at the Old Barn Day Nursery Pre-School. I enjoy watching her play with her friends when she is unaware I am there. The staff are very attentive at giving a good handover especially
knowing I have to then handover to her mother/father. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is always upbeat. The activities that I walk in on are such great ideas and a fab way for the children to learn. There are times when trying to go home can be a struggle as she is having too much fun and doesn't even want to leave. I haven't got children of my own just yet but when I do then at least I know I can confidently leave my child in their care. I would highly recommend the Old Barn!

I pride myself in working closely with families to support the children with reaching their milestones across all ages at the setting. I keep myself up to date with all legislation and trends within the nursery sector and I imbed these across my whole team.
