Lilliput Children’s Centre – Where Little Steps Lead to Big Adventures

Lilliput Children’s Centre is a warm and nurturing nursery located in the heart of Hersham, offering quality care and education for children from babies through to preschool age. The team is passionate about providing a safe, inspiring space where children feel loved, supported, and confident to explore.

Each room is thoughtfully designed to meet children’s developmental needs, with experienced staff who build strong bonds with both children and families. Lilliput believes in learning through play and provides engaging environments that spark curiosity and imagination.

A unique feature of the setting is its outdoor heated pool. Children aged 3+ enjoy weekly swimming lessons with a qualified instructor, while all age groups benefit from fun water activities during warmer months. Alongside this, weekly PE sessions help support physical development through active play and movement.

Lilliput is proud to offer innovative initiatives such as Little Dreamers Club, an enhanced learning environment, and Tiny Treasures Club, a free monthly class for under 2s and newly enrolled families. Both are designed to build early confidence, relationships, and joy in learning.

Emotional wellbeing is at the heart of everything they do. The introduction of empathy dolls, supported by original stories written in-house, helps children express and understand their emotions. These tools have already had a visible impact across the setting.

Lilliput’s family partnerships are strong, with regular events and open communication. Children also recently experienced chick hatching, with two chicks joining the nursery permanently—bringing learning to life in a memorable way.

If you’re looking for a nursery that combines care, creativity, and community, Lilliput is a place where children truly thrive.

Lilliput has been part of our little family for over 5 years.
Both our girls (7 and 4 years old) went through nursery and Preschool there.
We always say that choosing Lilliput was one of the best choices we have ever made: our girls were lucky to be looked after by the best teachers and carers, who
never failed to give them smiles, reassurance, cuddles and to fill their days with fun games and learning experiences.
Even through the hardest time - the pandemic- Lilliput felt like our safe port, not just for the kids but for us too.
Our girls are kind, bright, curious and sociable, and we know that Lilliput played a massive role in getting them to where they are.
Lilliput has and will always have a special place in our memories and our hearts. 'It takes a village'.
Reply from Manager, Manager at Lilliput Children's CentreThank you so much, we love to keep in touch with all of our families. We appreciate your kind words and your daughters will always be very special to us and never forgotten. We cannot wait to see your little one in her uniform for her first day. Kindest regards, The Lilliput team.

We've loved the experience both our girls have had at Lilliput and can't praise the staff enough. Everyone has been so wonderful, friendly and supportive, right from when you opened up the nursery on a Saturday for us to come view during lockdown all those years ago! Thanks for everything.

Our daughter was at Lilliput for two years, starting in the baby room. We were delighted with the nursery. The manager is incredibly professional and experienced and has such a wonderful way with both the children and parents. It was amazing to us that she knew our child so well as an individual.
Our
daughter came on leaps and bounds and made some lovely friendships. Her days at nursery were stimulating and purposeful but relaxed, too. When we dropped her off in the morning and picked her up in the afternoon, the environment was happy, calm, and safe. The excellent food, outdoor play areas and swimming pool were a real bonus.
The staff who looked after our daughter was great and always took the time to speak with us at the beginning and end of the day. Our daughter was very close to her key workers, and we still say hello to them when we see them about Hersham!
Overall, we feel very lucky we were able to send our daughter here.

Our son has been at Lilliput for two years and we have been very happy with the setting.
Things that stood out when we chose it and why we have loved it and still do:
- Staff engagement, care and compassion are fantastic, with staff retention and long service notable compared to other local nurseries
meaning consistency for children.
- A larger number of smaller rooms, which means that before reaching preschool, children are with other children of a very similar age range, which then supports better learning and play experiences.
- Fantastic amount of outside space and playgrounds so that multiple age groups can safely play outside in separate gated playgrounds at the same time.
- Hall with play equipment so that on wet days children can have a change of scenery, and preschoolers can play games in.
- An added bonus is an outdoor swimming pool that is used for preschool swimming lessons in summer.
- Ample parking so drop off and pick up are not stressful.

We have had a child at Lilliputs for almost two years now on a full-time basis and are about to send our second into the baby room.
We are always impressed by how genuine and truly engaged all the staff (caregivers, cleaners, caterers and management) are in the lives and going ons of the children.
I am always amazed at how everyone seems to know each child.
Our daughter absolutely loves going to her nursery, and we have seen how her time there has helped her social development and learning.

Outstanding nursery, providing brilliant care on virtually a one to one basis. My son came on so well having moved to Lilliput's from another country. The staff care so much about the children, there is not a doubt in my mind that this is the best setting for my child to be educated and cared for within.
I would recommend this nursery to anyone reluctant to leave their child, outgoing or anxious children or anyone seeking the best education and care for their child. The staff and the management are so welcoming to both parents and children and it is easy to address any queries or questions about my son’s day to day learning. I can't praise all the ladies enough for all their work with my son!

Fantastic nursery and facilities - friendly and experienced staff - lots of outdoor play and space with good equipment and good home-cooked meals. Quite expensive but staff do go the extra mile and have a swimming pool in the summer.

My son joined Lilliputs in the summer, following it's reopening after being closed due to lockdown. He started in baby room and has recently moved up to a room with toddlers. My husband and I feel our son as grown so much in is development in such a short amount of time. The daily updates we receive
are great and provide comfort and reassurance, which was so important in the early days. The settling-in sessions were great and we felt comfortable saying goodbye on that first full day.
He eats well, the variety of healthy meals are great and enjoys the ample outside space they have to use. We feel so happy in our decision to send our child to this nursery and would recommend it to others too.

My son has been at Lilliput Children's Centre since baby room, I have trusted the staff to look after him, he has flourished in his development and also made new friends which he has moved rooms with. I always enjoy getting feedback of my child’s day and what interesting activities he has been doing.
I also feel reassured that if I have any concerns with my child’s development I can speak to his key worker or other members of staff in the room. My son is very happy and so am I.

Lilliput is a fabulous nursery with great staff who are always there to greet you and your kids with a warm smile, caring attitude and plenty of enthusiasm. My boys immediately settled into this nursery and have thrived taking part in the multitude of activities on offer from lots of outdoor play, arts,
crafts, seasonal and cultural activities as well as various extra activities such as swimming lessons, dance classes and sports skills. They have an on-site chef who prepares 3 balanced meals and snacks catering to all dietary and allergy requirements and nothing is too much hassle. I have great peace of mind sending them here knowing how well they are taken care of and would highly recommend Lilliput to any prospective parents!

My son was made to feel at ease and was welcomed with open arms from the lovely staff at Lilliput. He loves going to nursery and can't stop talking about all the fun things they do every day. The nursery has a big outdoor area which is great and also, do sand and water play (which gets a big thumbs
up from my boy). Among other things such as messy play, construction and artwork pieces like the lovely spider my son made for Halloween. Very impressed with the way the nursery is run and the team they have.

Our daughter loves going to Lilliput. She has flourished here. My husband and I think the nursery staff are excellent at their jobs and look after the kids so well. Our daughter had flourished since starting here and gets to have the best time, whether it is sports skills or messy play, she gets to
explore and play and be a happy child. We also love the exposure she gets to lots of different food which is prepared on site by professional chefs, taking into account dietary requirements as well. Its always a pleasure talking to her key workers and they always have lots of personal observations which we enjoy hearing about. It is a lovely nursery.

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.891) out of 10 for Lilliput Children's Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 46 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 46 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.891 for Lilliput Children's Centre is calculated as follows: ( (500 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 552 Ratings = 4.891
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Lilliput Children's Centre is based on 46 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 155 number of registered child places is 31, which has been reached with 46 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
