Lilliput Children’s Centre – Where Little Steps Lead to Big Adventures

Lilliput Children’s Centre is a warm and nurturing nursery located in the heart of Hersham, offering quality care and education for children from babies through to preschool age. The team is passionate about providing a safe, inspiring space where children feel loved, supported, and confident to explore.

Each room is thoughtfully designed to meet children’s developmental needs, with experienced staff who build strong bonds with both children and families. Lilliput believes in learning through play and provides engaging environments that spark curiosity and imagination.

A unique feature of the setting is its outdoor heated pool. Children aged 3+ enjoy weekly swimming lessons with a qualified instructor, while all age groups benefit from fun water activities during warmer months. Alongside this, weekly PE sessions help support physical development through active play and movement.

Lilliput is proud to offer innovative initiatives such as Little Dreamers Club, an enhanced learning environment, and Tiny Treasures Club, a free monthly class for under 2s and newly enrolled families. Both are designed to build early confidence, relationships, and joy in learning.

Emotional wellbeing is at the heart of everything they do. The introduction of empathy dolls, supported by original stories written in-house, helps children express and understand their emotions. These tools have already had a visible impact across the setting.

Lilliput’s family partnerships are strong, with regular events and open communication. Children also recently experienced chick hatching, with two chicks joining the nursery permanently—bringing learning to life in a memorable way.

My son started at Lilliputs when he was just 14 months old and I couldn't be happier with the care and support he and us as a family have received over the years. The staff are genuinely caring, nurturing, and always take the time to make each child feel safe and valued.


The variety of activities they

offer is fantastic (including the use of an on site swimming pool) and they are really well-tailored to each stage of development. It's been wonderful to watch my son grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity thanks to the thoughtful experiences they provide every day. I look forward to hearing about all the fun he has had at the end of his busy day.


We are very grateful to the whole team for creating such a warm, stimulating, and supportive environment. I would highly recommend Lilliputs to any parent looking for a place where their child will thrive and the whole family will be looked after.

We would like to thank the manager and her team at Lilliputs Children's Centre for the professional and excellent care they have given our son. From start to finish, a gentle familiarisation and induction process made him feel comfortable and happy in his new care surroundings. The nursery ensured a
healthy mix of time spent on the mat having stories, playing in the field, the playground and crafting and creative activities. A unique selling point for Lilliputs is the swimming lessons offered to the children in groups of four or five which has grown his confidence in the water hugely - thanks to the teacher. We would like to say a special thanks to our son's pre-school key worker. He diligently looked after son and has prepared him for the next transition well. The report is very promising and demonstrates how well he has got to know him.
The nursery genuinely cares about every child in the setting and we can only highly recommend to anyone considering Lilliputs.

My son has had the most fantastic time at Lilliput. He joined at just 12 months old and is now about to 'graduate' from pre-school to start school. As a nervous and worried new mother, I found the transition incredibly hard - but the staff supported not only my son, but also me, every step of the way.
What truly sets Lilliput apart is the staff. Their long tenure and low turnover are rare in a nursery setting, and it makes a world of difference. The children build strong, lasting relationships, and you can really see how well the team works together. They manage transitions between rooms seamlessly, and their warmth and professionalism shine through in everything they do. The facilities are outstanding - with multiple indoor playrooms, outdoor playgrounds, a swimming pool, and access to a huge field across the road where the children love to run and explore. It's a dream environment for little ones, I will be forever grateful to them for the wonderful experience they have given my son.

We have been with Lilliput for 4.5 years and counting and we've had the best Nursery/Preschool experience for our girls. The facilities are great with lots of space and age-specific resources and we love that the children are moved along at a pace that means they're with children of the same age and
learning/doing activities that are appropriate and enjoyable for them. Having multiple gardens, climbing equipment, space to run around in the filed and a swimming pool are also obviously a huge bonus! Our girls have taken part in some really lovely events like the Nativity, Christmas Party, Preschool Graduation and Family Fun Days and they and we have made friends along the way. Above everything else the best thing about Lilliput is the staff - they are lovely and it's a great feeling knowing that our youngest is being looked after by the same team who were there when our eldest was there. Overall we couldn't recommend it enough and are so happy with our choice!

Our son joined in baby room and is just about to finish preschool at Lilliput and honestly has had the best few years at this nursery. The staff are so wonderful and caring and have supported him through every key milestone. There are key members of staff who have worked at the nursery for many years
and their experience really shows, the low turnover of staff also means the kids build such strong relationships with their key workers. The manager is doing a fantastic job of bringing new experiences to the kids including the farm visits and little dreamers club on top of the swimming lessons offered in summer which my sons has loved. Would absolutely recommend Lilliput!

Our daughter has attended Lilliputs from baby room and is just about to 'graduate' from preschool. She has had the best time, and as parents we couldn't ask for more from a nursery setting. The grounds and facilities are amazing, including the use of onsite swimming pool and the opening of the recent
Little Explorers room, which includes all sorts of fun stuff (including a library).
But, what really makes Lilliputs so special is the wonderful staff who look after our children with such care and kindness. There is such a personal feel to the care received and every day we have a debrief of how our daughters day has been and everyone takes such interest in what is going on in each child's lives.
We highly recommend Lilliputs and will be very sad to say goodbye to this chapter in our lives.
Special shout out to the amazing lady who took on the role as nursery manager recently and is leading the team and nursery from strength to strength!

We absolutely love Lilliputs! Both our children have gone through from babies to pre-school and have been so happy there. The staff are brilliant, so caring and welcoming and they build such strong relationships with the children. The summer swimming lessons are a massive benefit and access to the field
for the older children is great. The homemade meals are also fantastic, providing children with a wide variety of foods that you don't always get at other nurseries.

Our experience with Lilliput has been exemplary. We have had both our children there and they love it.
Just when you think it can't get any better, it has done! The changes made in the recent months to create the Dreamers space, liven up the entrance ways, embrace more physical education, and generally
to try new ways to help our little ones grow in different ways have been mind blowing.
The staff there do genuinely feel like a family, making it a home away from home. They all remember children who left years ago, and treat the ones there now with the utmost care.
Their Father Christmas is always a good laugh as well! Keep up the great work!

We love Lilliput. There isn't much feedback or commentary on Lilliput on local social media, and I think because there is nothing to fault!
Both our children started in baby room at 12months which was the most nurturing and homely space, slightly separated from the rest of the nursery and offered
them a proper cot for nap times, and setting a great structure and routine to their days. We liked that the old school building gives each age group their own space and identity and they move classes in line with their development, so they were learning and experiencing new stimuli every 6 months. It also prepared them for meeting and mixing with slightly different cohorts of peers and staff.
By preschool (3y+) the children are so confident and know the staff well (there is little staff turnover) and the nursery has such a community and family atmosphere preparing them so well for Primary.
A member of staff set really high standards for the nursery and I'm delighted that the manager is staying on.

We adore the Lilliput Team and both our girls have been extremely happy throughout their journeys.
The staff are warm, caring and always go the extra mile. The facilities are fantastic with the added bonus of the field and swimming pool.
My girls are well prepared for school, they are curious, independent,
social and happy!
We will miss Lilliputs, as we move on to our next adventure in September but grateful in knowing, both our girls are fully equipped to navigate their next steps, thanks to the wonderful Lilliputs Team.

Liliput has my highest recommendation. What makes it so special is the staff who clearly care so deeply for the children and always go above and beyond. My son is nervous in most situations but he skips to Liliput and happily waves me goodbye because he always has a ball with a new activity everyday
and so much genuine kindness and care from his key workers.

I can't recommend this nursery highly enough. Both of my children have attended Lilliputs - my eldest is now 16 and the youngest is 4 and will leave Lilliputs this summer to go to school. The manager, has been there since my eldest attended and has made many positive improvements since she took over
as manager. I love the fact that so many of the staff have been there for many years and provide stability and continuity of care for the children. The manager is keen to engage with parents and regularly organises events to showcase new rooms and initiatives which she has introduced to enhance the nursery experience.

We've been part of this nursery for a while now, and I just have to say-what an incredible transformation it's gone through recently (it was already great!) The new changes have truly elevated the experience for both the children and parents.
The environment feels even more vibrant, welcoming, and
stimulating. From updated learning materials to thoughtful room layouts, it's clear that a lot of care and effort has gone into creating a nurturing space where children can thrive.
The staff have always been wonderful, but they seem even more energized and engaged lately. Their dedication, patience, and genuine love for what they do really shine through. My daughter comes home excited to tell me about her day-whether it's a new song she's learned, a fun activity they did, or a new friend she made.
Communication with parents has also improved, making us feel more connected and informed about our child's development. It's reassuring to know she's in such capable and caring hands.

Our experience has been nothing short of exceptional and we became part of a warm and loving extended family. The staff are incredibly kind, nurturing and always attentive to the individual needs of every child. Safe, stimulating and joyful environment has allowed my daughter to flourish both socially
and emotionally. It's clear they genuinely care about the children and that care shines through in everything they do, from the creative activities to the thoughtful communication with parents. It is the strong sense of community -it's not just a nursery; it's a place where families are supported, celebrated and connected.
My daughter absolutely loved and flourished in her time at Lilliput, and as a parent, knowing she is so happy and well cared for brought us great peace in a very challenging season.
