CherryLands Nursery is a private day nursery and is part of the Family First Day Nurseries group who are committed to excellence in childcare by offering the highest standards of professionalism in a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere.

The nursery's vision is that through quality and professionalism to be the childcare provider of first choice for working parents and to be a home from home environment that provides the children with security and trust. The overall approach is ‘Active Learning Through Purposeful Play’ and this philosophy has been incorporated into how the company delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Cherrylands Nursery opened in 1995 and operates from a former business and office building, close to Weybridge and a business park and it serves the local community and surrounding areas. The nursery is on the Early Years register and opens from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday for 51 weeks of the year, (closed at Christmas for 1 week and Bank Holidays).

The nursery can care for 30 children at any one time. The setting welcomes and supports children with additional needs and has 8 children who speak additional languages and a further 5 children who have additional cultural backgrounds. There are currently no children attending the nursery receiving SEND funded support and a further intervention.

The childcare is divided into 2 age and stage related rooms on one level with all equipment chosen to suit the age and stage of the children. It is recognised by the nursery that children develop at different rates, so to reflect this, the rooms are given flexibility within the ages and each child is looked at individually to ensure that their individual needs are met appropriately and that they are in the best place for them to grow and develop educationally, socially and emotionally.

My daughter has been at Cherrylands for the past eighteen months, starting in the under twos room and now in the two to fives room. She loves it there and has progressed for better than many of her peers at other nurseries in the area. We chose Cherrylands because it is smaller and has a more personal
touch, plus was better value. It has since received an "outstanding" by Ofsted, which is much deserved. My only negative would be the building/facilities, but there are plans agreed to expand/change these. I have recommended it to many people - the only issue is its so good they don't have many spaces.

Our experience with Cherrylands has been great. You can see the passion in all the senior staff. All of the team members do a great job.
The new staff sometimes don't feel as passionate about the job but I think the longer they'll spend at Cherrylands Nursery the more they'll develop it.

My name is Diane. I have worked in Early Years settings since 1994. I moved to Surrey from Staffordshire in June 2010 and joined Cherrylands as a Level 3 qualified nursery nurse.


During my time at Cherrylands, I have gained experience in all the different age groups. I have supporting certificates including Safeguarding Children, Safer Recruitment, Paediatric First Aid, Basic Food Hygiene and many more. I am also the Health and safety representative for the nursery.


It is rewarding to know that I make a difference to the children within my care and that Cherrylands is providing a safe, caring, and loving environment.
