The nursery's vision is that through quality and professionalism to be the childcare provider of first choice for working parents and to be a home from home environment that provides the children with security and trust. The overall approach is ‘Active Learning Through Purposeful Play’ and this philosophy has been incorporated into how the company delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
Cherrylands Nursery opened in 1995 and operates from a former business and office building, close to Weybridge and a business park and it serves the local community and surrounding areas. The nursery is on the Early Years register and opens from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday for 51 weeks of the year, (closed at Christmas for 1 week and Bank Holidays).
The nursery can care for 30 children at any one time. The setting welcomes and supports children with additional needs and has 8 children who speak additional languages and a further 5 children who have additional cultural backgrounds. There are currently no children attending the nursery receiving SEND funded support and a further intervention.
The childcare is divided into 2 age and stage related rooms on one level with all equipment chosen to suit the age and stage of the children. It is recognised by the nursery that children develop at different rates, so to reflect this, the rooms are given flexibility within the ages and each child is looked at individually to ensure that their individual needs are met appropriately and that they are in the best place for them to grow and develop educationally, socially and emotionally.

Cherrylands staff are welcoming, friendly and always willing to help. We preferred that it's a smaller setting and think this has really helped our son to settle in - all the staff know him and it feels very personable. It has a great outdoor space and is set in Brooklands Park, which means we get to enjoy park visits after nursery pick up. Our son has settled in really well with thanks to the staff. He is much more confident and independent and has developed a lot. He really enjoys the variety of craft and learning activities, and the staff upload photos and updates throughout the day which is lovely to see. We love Cherrylands Nursery. The manager is brilliant. The setting is clean, tidy and well maintained with a great range of toys and equipment in good condition. Super outdoors space they use every day. The chef is so considerate, the menu is extensive and diverse. My child always eats all their food, if not seconds! Open plan classrooms. It's a nice intimate size too. Very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable staff. They celebrate lots of festivals and events plus do lots of crafts.

My son went to Cherrylands from when he had just turned 1 to when he was nearly 3, starting in the baby's room and moving up into the toddler and little learners' room. We have just relocated and so had to leave the nursery, which we are still devastated about! I was nervous handing over my child to a nursery for the first time, having not done that before and not knowing what to expect. I feel so lucky that we found Cherrylands. It has a family feel due to its size and the care of the staff - you get to know all of the teachers who are all fab, nurturing, and caring. My son settled in quickly when he started and loved every day that he spent there until his very last. We were always happy and comfortable knowing (and seeing) that he was learning, growing, developing, being nurtured, being tended to, and being cared for. I wish more nurseries could be like Cherrylands, and we miss it! I would genuinely recommend it to anyone with children in the area.
