My son settled well into the nursery. He has developed in all areas I would expect and is given additional support where required. He is very happy here and enjoys attending.

All the staff are very friendly and caring. They always say hello and ask after my elder daughter who is now at school. They never mind if you call to check on the children and love talking about what they have been doing during the day with the children.

Overall Experience

Our daughter has been really happy at Cherrywood. She started at 11 months old and has been there almost a year. She loves it there and she literally squeals with delight when we arrive. She has always been well cared for and she adores the staff. There is a really lovely happy atmosphere, everyone is helpful and friendly and they do fun activities inside and outside all day long. As a result she is learning and developing her skills really well. She also loves the food and eats really well. I literally don't have a bad word to say!

Aimee Wheeler Job Title: Nursery Manager
Aimee Wheeler

I have worked in Early Years education for 10 years, and it is truly my passion. I feel privileged to be part of each child’s unique journey, watching them learn, grow, and develop, and helping to make their first five years fun, meaningful, and memorable.

I have spent my entire childcare career with Cherry Childcare, progressing from an unqualified Nursery Nurse to Manager of CherryWood Nursery. Throughout this journey, I have gained a broad range of experience across different roles and levels of responsibility, which has shaped my leadership style and deepened my understanding of high-quality early years provision.

I am deeply committed to supporting both children and my team. I believe that when practitioners feel confident, valued, and knowledgeable, they are better equipped to provide outstanding care and education. I strive to create a supportive environment where my team can grow professionally, reflect on their practice, and continuously develop their skills so that, together, we can give every child and their family the very best start in life.

During my time at SENCO, I worked closely with children and families to ensure individual needs were fully understood and supported. I am passionate about inclusion and about tuning into each child as an individual, ensuring they have the right tools, strategies, and support to succeed and thrive.

As a Manager, I lead with a child-centred approach. Children are always at the heart of every decision I make. My primary responsibility is to ensure that all practice prioritises child safety, emotional well-being, developmental appropriateness, and inclusive values. I believe strong leadership in Early Years means setting high standards, modelling positive relationships, and fostering a culture where children, families, and staff all feel safe, respected, supported, and valued.
