Julia Durbin Day Nursery (Oxford)

We moved our daughter from another Oxford nursery to Julia Durbin Day Nursery in February 2023. She started in the Ladybird room and we saw the changes immediately! She was properly looked after by professionals and we had feedback and pictures every step of the way. I finally felt reassured. The amount of feedback and pictures on the app were drastically reduced when she moved to the Bumblebees room but still we got verbal reports at the end of the day. She is always happy to go to nursery and she is engaged in many activities throughout the day. We are very sorry to be leaving, we will miss the nursery in general and the staff in particular. Thank you for all your hard work with the children!

Julia Durbin has so many enriching activities for the children, both indoors and outdoors, and I can tell my son enjoys going to nursery. He also loves the food and seems to be constantly having seconds! The teachers provide a lot of updates and it is very much appreciated.

Our son has been there for nearly 2 years, has gone through 4 classes, and the quality has been consistently top-notch. The staff are all caring and engaged, we get great updates on what the kids have been up to, the menu is varied, the activities are fun and different so we hear all about it at the end of each day. Would recommend to any parent.

My son has developed his social, emotional and educational needs very much with the help of the staff. They are very friendly and caring to all the kids and the parents. I have always felt confident that they will look after his needs during his stay there. They provide timely updates through the app as well as during pickup. Excellent indoor and outdoor space for play and the activities are well planned according to the children's needs. I highly recommend the nursery to other parents.

Overall great nursery, kids clearly love it and are well looked after. Staff give it their all. Good communication with the parents and attentive to any specific needs and requirements. Can be good value for money for staff members of Oxford University Hospital or the University.

Such a caring and engaging environment in both groups our son has been so far. The staff members are all very kind and patient and our little one loves spending his time there from the very first day, which is amazing. We definitely think that we chose the best nursery in the area.

My daughter can be quite clingy and set in her ways but they've all been so patient with her and gradually I've seen the positive changes. I wish I brought her to Julia Durbin earlier than I did and I'll happily recommend Julia Durbin to everyone. A trial will convince you!

Great experience with Julia Durbin so far. The nursery staff are all very attentive and friendly, and I have taken a lot of confidence from their interactions with our baby (11 months). Very well equipped in terms of necessities for the children, and excellent provision of play.

Very sorry to be leaving, we will miss the staff and we will always remember the outstanding service this nursery offers!

Our daughters have loved their time at Julia Durbin. Though expensive, provision is brilliant. Staff are extremely supportive and caring, facilities are brilliant and management are knowledgeable and very efficient. We have sent both our children to Julia Durbin and have been extremely happy. The staff are amazing and care deeply about the children. Preschool has been great for getting both children ready for school. We highly recommend this nursery.

Our daughter has had a fabulous 4 years at Julia Durbin Nursery. She has been really well-looked after, the staff genuinely care about the children and support their development. The nursery engage with us as parents and we have always felt like part of the nursery family. Our daughter leaves her time at the nursery to start school with lots of memories, friends, and life skills.

Friendly staff that made my daughter's stay at nursery and pre-school an absolute delight. They keep the children well-fed (breakfast, lunch, tea) and hydrated. There are plenty of fun activities organised by the staff to keep them entertained. It makes each day just that little bit special. They play and interact with mixed age groups and my child's vocabulary has expanded significantly thanks to Julia Durbin's warm and caring teachers. I am particularly pleased by the high quality and varied food and enjoy the parent zone app where they upload pictures and summaries from the day's activities. I highly recommend Julia Durbin Day Nursery and we will miss the lovely teachers!

A truly excellent nursery. The staff are fantastic and my children are always happy when I pick them up.

My daughter is now in her second room and she absolutely loves being there! There’s a great outdoor space and the kids are out as much as they can be (weather dependent)! The kids have so many choices of play equipment, water play, sand pits, mobile scooters and other things it’s great. It’s also lovely to see the interaction of the bigger children with the little ones in the outside garden.

The admin staff are also brilliant and really do make you feel welcome. Great nursery!

We absolutely love the nursery and so does our little one. He happily goes in and never wants to leave. Nursery has an amazing atmosphere, the facilities are great and the garden is wonderful. They cater for any particular needs and are very cautious. Nursery organises many events for parents to join in as well, they also do charity events, and parents meetings. I particularly like the updates with photos we get in the app so we can see what they got up to that day. They definitely positively influenced my little one's development and I would recommend the nursery to anyone.

I have had two children at Julia Durbin Day Nursery (Oxford) since 2017. Their time at nursery has been invaluable - for their learning/development and for me knowing they are safe and well looked after whilst I'm at work. this year our time at Julia Durbin Day Nursery (Oxford) will come to an end as my oldest child starts school. We will miss everything about it but especially the staff and friendships we have with the team. I can highly recommend Julia Durbin Day Nursery (Oxford) without hesitation.

We are really delighted with the care that our child receives at Julia Durbin Nursery, he has attended since ten months old and at each stage of the nursery has really flourished in this creative and nurturing environment. The staff are outstanding, the breadth of activities is impressive and the garden is wonderful. We know that our little boy is in wonderful hands and he loves attending nursery here.

Butterflies is a wonderful environment -my son is excited to go every morning and returns home with amazing stories of all he's done. He's made friends and developed hugely.

In Ladybirds, the staff go above and beyond to give our daughter the best possible experience. This includes shaping her play and learning to help with things she can struggle with (eg. using play doctors kits to reduce her anxiety about visiting the doctor) and also staying after hours to undertake additional training specific to our daughter's needs. They spend lots of time outside and have a wide range of other play and developmental activities.
