This is indeed a bit emotional as our daughter will be leaving Julia Durbin soon due to attending her first school in September 2016.

We have been pleased with the level of care Julia Durbin has provided for our daughter. This was absolutely priceless. We researched many daycare facilities within
the area (Oxford) and selected Julia Durbin because of their high-quality development/care program.


Our daughter has made many friends and the bonding she has made with her teachers is as strong as with her own family members.

I must admit that her second family after her parents is Julia Durbin, and we will always feel very honoured to recommend this nursery as it deserves this.

Thank you again ' Team Julia Durbin ' for taking an excellent and inimitable care of our daughter and every other child. Not only from a caring aspect but also through your brilliant management process, you have made our decision absolutely correct and well taken.

Our daughter started pre-school when she was 2yrs 10 months. Having been looked after at home till then, this was a big change for her. The staff were brilliant with helping her settle in over the first few months and she really thrived. The care they provide is wonderful and one can really see the
lovely relationships they have with the children. Although our daughter had three changes to her key worker this year, each transition was dealt with and communicated well. The children have the opportunity to engage in numerous different learning activities both indoors and outdoors. The gardens are spacious and well set up and the environment feels safe. The graduation ceremony they organised was just such a lovely and emotional way to say goodbye. We have always been very pleased with the learning and development opportunities, the great communication from the teams and the professional way the nursery and its staff operate. We would gladly recommend Julia Durbin to any parents.

My daughter has learnt a lot, being at Julia Durbin. She enjoys her time there and has made a lot of friends. My daughter has been in Julia Durbin for just over a year, and she has grown so much. I owe a great deal to the nursery.

My daughter has attended Julia Durbin oxford since 2014. They have been a real fantastic team and have been there every step of the way for my daughter. From the first day and leaving her there I was feeling so sad but to coming in and hearing all the wonderful things she was experiencing. The whole
team are very supportive and very caring, they are very dedicated to ensuring every child is well looked after and made to feel safe. Over the last nearly 3 years, my daughter's confidence has grown so much and the development has been great. If I ever needed someone to talk too they were there and non-judgemental about individuals situations. The whole place and the journey taken has been such a good I will always remember them and all the love shown to my daughter and me.

Our daughter has just graduated from Julia Durbin Day Nursery having attended since she was 11 months. We have always been delighted with the care she has received and the way the nursery communicate with parents and respond to feedback. Our daughter has been happy and well supported as she has developed
over the years and we feel she has been well prepared for the challenge of starting school next month. She is confident with the nursery staff and has built strong friendships within her class. The garden is amazing and we particularly love the emphasis on outdoor play in all weather. We are pleased that her baby brother is now just starting nursery and look forward to seeing him flourish there.

Saying goodbye to your little ones is never easy, but it was made much better when he seemed so happy and settled with the staff and other children at Julia Durbin. Everyone was always keen to let us know how his day has gone and the normal wobbles and bumps of learning to toddle were handled very well.
We would have liked to have the option of a subsidised place where he was and would not hesitate to recommend Julia Durbin to our friends and co-workers.

My daughter has been attending since she was 10 months old. It took her a little while to adjust to going to nursery due to her personality but her key person has helped smooth the transition and she now loves her time there.
They have a lot more on offer than other nurseries as they seem to do lots
of fun activities as well as having a fantastic selection of toys and books. The baby garden is well equipped. They have catered for lots of our special requirements including cloth nappies and it is as probably as close to being cared for at home as you can get in this sort of childcare environment. It is a lot more expensive than other nursery options in the area but the little touches make it worth the extra cost.

It has meant an enormous amount to us as a family to have had such wonderful support from the whole team at Julia Durbin, over the last 4 years. Until I became a parent, I really had no appreciation of how important great childcare is for both parents and children, especially in these early years. When
I first signed my eldest son up to Caterpillars in 2012, I was such a nervous mum, and he was such an emotional baby! But with your help and nurture, he has blossomed into a wonderfully confident, sociable boy. And I'm so much more confident too (although the disorganisation and forgetfulness are incurable). Bringing my second son along in 2012 was a wonderful experience, he slotted right on in, and has been so loved by all of the staff. What an enormous difference it made to me when I had a toddler and a newborn, to know that I could bring them to a safe, happy, comfortable place.

My son recently started here and has settled in brilliantly. The team are dedicated to his security and development and each individual care team member has shown a caring attitude towards him. His key worker, is outstanding, as is the room leader (Bumblebee Room).
I have confidence leaving him in
their care, knowing he is well looked after, stimulated and happy.

My daughter attended Julia Durbin for 3 1/2 years, progressing from the baby room through to pre-school. The care in each room was fantastic and my daughter formed very close relationships with her key people. She has made some lovely friends and we will miss the nursery very much! I wouldn't hesitate
to recommend Julia Durbin to anyone.

I am using Julia Durbin for a 2nd time with my son after my daughter was there for 4 years and loved it and I am pleased to say that it is still at the same high standard.
All the team are caring and helpful and it is very reassuring to know that your child is being so well cared for while you have
to work. My son has settled in brilliantly and is very happy there!
I would highly recommend Julia Durbin!

Julia Durbin has been fantastic for my 2 year old son. He has been attending this nursery since he was 10 months old and each room he has been in, has been excellent. He has been encouraged to become independent and enjoys all the facilities and activities that are provided.

My daughter is just leaving Julia Durbin to start school, she has attended since she was 2 and a half. She has completely enjoyed her time at the nursery, I am sure because she has received such good care there. She tells me that she will miss all the grown ups very much. I have found everyone at the
nursery to be professional and friendly, the nursery is very well resourced with lovely outdoor space, good toys, and the food is, according to my daughter, very nice! I would certainly recommend the nursery to anyone.

I would like to thank all members of staff that have helped with the care of my child. She has come on in leaps and bounds whilst attending the Julia Durbin Day Nursery, and whilst it was at the top of our price range, I couldn't have sent her anywhere else.


We as parents have been impressed with

the level of education, the variety of meals and the care and compassion provided each day. Being able to go to work without a worry and knowing our child is in very capable hands has been more than relieving, this is just something money cannot buy.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 1996

Emma is the Manager of Julia Durbin Day Nursery in Headington and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 24 years. Emma has numerous qualifications, including an NNEB, Management NVQ's and a Foundation Degree in Early Years. Emma has worked for Childbase Partnership since 1996.


What is your favourite feature of Julia Durbin?
Despite being on the hospital grounds we are almost secretly hidden within a lovely natural space and a huge natural garden. I also like our entrance and reception area as we get to greet all the families and visitors as they arrive.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
Our ongoing recognition from Ofsted and amazing day nursery reviews from our parents. The staff have exceptional relationships with the families and each other which leaves a great morale across the nursery. The children are the heart of our Julia Durbin family.
