Lovely nursery, very supportive to my daughter (and to me) with the settling-in period! Nice outdoor space so they can play outside. Fun activities for the children. Well organised and good communication.

My son has settled in so well at Millennium First Steps. His key worker is very kind and has a lovely bond with him. He gets to try lots of different activities and food every day. We get regular progress updates. The nursery has also been flexible, allowing my son to attend an extra day at short notice
when my usual childcare arrangement was unavailable. Would recommend this nursery.

Millennium First Steps Nursery has been a wonderful nursery for my son to attend, with an understanding and hard-working staff and a great environment for him to thrive. They have done incredibly well during a not so easy time of the pandemic and dealt with it very professionally. They have made both
myself and my son feel welcomed and have done well with informing me of his progress. We built a strong relationship between myself and staff to allow and encourage my son to improve areas he was struggling with and I felt very supported by all the staff. The staff are very accommodating and know how to treat each child as an individual. I know my son is going to miss all of the wonderful staff that have taken special care of him at his time in the nursery. They have really helped and given great advice to me to make transitioning to a new school a lot less stressful for the both of us and have made me feel confident for my son to start reception in September.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for 8 months now, and it’s been nothing but a positive experience. She’s come on leaps and bounds in terms of development, with an excellent key worker, and manager. I receive regular progress updates on the tapestry platform, as well as an in-depth summary

We have been extremely satisfied with Millennium. The staff are kind, take conscious care to get to know each child and treat them as an individual and form a bond. The daily activities are creative and fun, and our daughter has thrived since starting the nursery.

Really delighted with our experience of Millenium First Steps. I was a little apprehensive about sending my second child as we had no experience of the setting and heard mixed reviews about the facilities dating back a few years; lockdown didn’t help as we could view it in person. The manager at the
time was brilliant and did a video tour for us.
The staff are all lovely, and my little boy is always delighted to go in and settled very quickly, especially given his first year was under endless lockdowns and minimal socialising. They run fun activities, and he eats a great variety of food he won’t eat at home! My only personal bugbear is the carpet in the baby room - it just makes the area look very dated and doesn’t reflect on how nice the rest of the building is.

A wonderful nursery, my daughter has been attending since December 2020 and she settled in extremely fast and really enjoys going in each session! She has bonded extremely well with her key person and feedback is always excellent!

This is a wonderful nursery that has brilliantly looked after both of my children. The staff are incredibly friendly and kind and the care for my children is, and has been, terrific. My kids have learnt so much since attending Millennium First Steps. It is great value for money and in a very convenient
location.
Due to Covid restrictions, I haven't been able to go inside the nursery for quite a while but the staff fill me in at pickup time and give me lots of detail about what my son has been doing during the day. My only wish would be to be sent photos/videos of my son at nursery via an online diary/app to improve communication and record the special moments in his development.
I would strongly recommend this nursery and many thanks to all the staff for their hard work.

The new manager has been a great addition to the nursery. In a short time, she has brought about so many positive changes. The nursery is very well run and organised with good communication to the parents. My daughter loves going to nursery, enjoys every day with her friends and the staff that care
for her. She has built a good relationship with her key worker. There are loads of activities each day and every day my daughter comes home to share something new she has learned. Loads of fun playing outside in the garden area, my daughter loves the water play. Millennium First Steps is a safe and happy environment for kids.

We chose Millennium for our second child after receiving positive recommendations from other parents in the area and we are very pleased with our choice. She has now been there for one-and-a-half years and she is always so excited to go in the mornings. She is obviously very well cared for by the staff
and loves singing the songs she's learnt. Activities in the toddler room are organised around weekly themes (e.g. picnics, pets, space) and there seems to be a real focus on learning creatively. We get lots of art. The nursery is not much to look at from the outside (it's in a car park near the train station), but it is bright and airy on the inside and its location is excellent. Since Autumn 2020, the nursery has also had a new manager and there has been a noticeable improvement in policies, food, communication and the activities they do with the children. Hopefully, it's only on the up.

Both my children attend the nursery and are very happy there. The baby section, in particular, is excellent. You really feel a sense of the staff's kindness and that they really care for the little ones. My daughter is always singing new songs. The nursery itself is also very approachable, willing to
offer guidance and advice and seems to know the children individually. The feedback is through and the food sounds nice too.

My son started at Millennium First Steps Nursery when we moved into the area and quickly settled in, this was so important as he had been at another nursery previously and really enjoyed it there. The staff were so kind and really made him feel welcome and he became part of his class in no time.
He
loves going to nursery every day and has made friends. The children are encouraged to look after one another and they have created a warm, nurturing environment in the nursery. Staff are wonderful.

We are very happy with the nursery, especially, because our son is new in the country and we have had a lot of support from the staff.

Good nursery, staff are caring. Staffing changes are not communicated well though e.g we only found out who our daughter's key worker was when we attended parents evening. It would be good if the outside space was bigger but the equipment seems good. More messy play for the younger children would be
good.
I know the staff clean up after meal time but the nursery always looks a bit grubby round the edges. Overall, happy with the nursery.

We've been sending our daughter who was 7 months old when she started, and we're very happy with the nursery. Her settling in was difficult and took time, which was very hard for us first-time parents, but her key person handled it very well with confidence and all the staff members were supportive.


Outdoor space may be on the more compact side and its building may be a bit old, but has plenty of room inside for children to explore and play with various kinds of toys. The range of activities available in baby room (inside and outdoor) is great. We see our daughter developing and thriving, both physically and socially, probably at a faster pace than if she stayed at home.


Now at 10 months she goes in happily (most days) and it's a real pleasure to pick her up and get feedback for the day on how she was and what she did. We're very grateful for all the effort and affection by the staff members and we won't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone - especially with its very competitive fees and proximity to the station.

We already have one child at First Steps and are very happy with her care, but have recently started our second child there. She was 11 months when she started, now a year old. We have been amazed at how quickly she has settled in. Our older daughter was much older when she started so we didn't know
what to expect, but it has been a rapid transition, during which we have felt very comfortable and supported, and have had no doubt about the care she has received. We feel entirely comfortable leaving her with the team who have made an effort to get to know her and seem very gentle/affectionate. Particularly impressed with room leadership. Teething difficulties (adjusting to routine) handled well. Very impressed. Our daughter is happy, stimulated and relaxed there. All very good.

Hello, I am Sophie and I became the manager here at Millennium First Steps Nursery in Hitchin, in March. I relocated from South London where I was in childcare for 19 years and had been a manager for 8 years. I am dedicated to making a difference to young lives and shaping the future generation. I believe the dedication and passion of our staff, paired with our nurturing, home from home environment, is what makes our nursery special.
