Millennium First Steps Nursery

My son has been at the nursery for just over a year. He is quiet at nursery, so I was really impressed that the nursery staff noticed that he would benefit from some support in having more confidence in group settings. They put a plan in place, which they discussed with me, and it seems to have improved his confidence. The needs of quiet, well-behaved children can be ignored in group settings like nurseries and schools, so I was really impressed that they took the time to put in place extra support for him. The children go outside every day, usually twice a day, I think, and do a range of activities. The nursery practitioners have always been friendly to me and my sons (my older son also attended the nursery). There is a new nursery manager this year, who seems very good and approachable. My son is in the pre-school room and I like the room leader too, she seems to take pride in her work and make it fun for the children.

My 2 daughters attended the nursery from 6 months to 4 years, and they have grown in confidence and learned so many things. My older one left 2 years ago but is still so happy to pick up her sister and say hello to the staff.

My daughter just graduated from preschool after being in this nursery for three years. She had a fantastic time in a calm and friendly environment with very caring and highly trained staff. She was always happy and never cried at drop off. I highly recommend this nursery to everyone.

My twin sons have attended Millennium First Steps Nursery since they were 10 months old and start school this September. The team have always been incredibly supportive and the boys have loved their time there. Despite the challenges of Covid the staff have remained accessible and kept us involved and up to date as best they can. The location of the nursery is great for London commuters and good value compared to other Hitchin nurseries.

My children have been at Millennium First Steps Nursery for nearly a year now, and I continue to be impressed with their level of care, tailored to each of my children's needs. They are always very helpful, leaning into any issues and being proactive to help solve any problems, rather than just passing them by. As a parent, I have felt very supported by the team at Millennium First Steps Nursery and feel very comfortable that my kids are very happy there.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for 8 months now, and it’s been nothing but a positive experience. She’s come on leaps and bounds in terms of development, with an excellent key worker, and manager. I receive regular progress updates on the tapestry platform, as well as an in-depth summary of her day whenever I collect. Great all around!

Millennium First Steps Nursery has been a wonderful nursery for my son to attend, with an understanding and hard-working staff and a great environment for him to thrive. They have done incredibly well during a not so easy time of the pandemic and dealt with it very professionally. They have made both myself and my son feel welcomed and have done well with informing me of his progress. We built a strong relationship between myself and staff to allow and encourage my son to improve areas he was struggling with and I felt very supported by all the staff. The staff are very accommodating and know how to treat each child as an individual. I know my son is going to miss all of the wonderful staff that have taken special care of him at his time in the nursery. They have really helped and given great advice to me to make transitioning to a new school a lot less stressful for the both of us and have made me feel confident for my son to start reception in September.

My son has settled in so well at Millennium First Steps. His key worker is very kind and has a lovely bond with him. He gets to try lots of different activities and food every day. We get regular progress updates. The nursery has also been flexible, allowing my son to attend an extra day at short notice when my usual childcare arrangement was unavailable. Would recommend this nursery.

Lovely nursery, very supportive to my daughter (and to me) with the settling-in period! Nice outdoor space so they can play outside. Fun activities for the children. Well organised and good communication.

We have been extremely satisfied with Millennium. The staff are kind, take conscious care to get to know each child and treat them as an individual and form a bond. The daily activities are creative and fun, and our daughter has thrived since starting the nursery.

The staff are all lovely, and my little boy is always delighted to go in and settled very quickly, especially given his first year was under endless lockdowns and minimal socialising. They run fun activities, and he eats a great variety of food he won’t eat at home! My only personal bugbear is the carpet in the baby room - it just makes the area look very dated and doesn’t reflect on how nice the rest of the building is.

A wonderful nursery, my daughter has been attending since December 2020 and she settled in extremely fast and really enjoys going in each session! She has bonded extremely well with her key person and feedback is always excellent!

The new manager has been a great addition to the nursery. In a short time, she has brought about so many positive changes. The nursery is very well run and organised with good communication to the parents. My daughter loves going to nursery, enjoys every day with her friends and the staff that care for her. She has built a good relationship with her key worker. There are loads of activities each day and every day my daughter comes home to share something new she has learned. Loads of fun playing outside in the garden area, my daughter loves the water play. Millennium First Steps is a safe and happy environment for kids.

We chose Millennium for our second child after receiving positive recommendations from other parents in the area and we are very pleased with our choice. She has now been there for one-and-a-half years and she is always so excited to go in the mornings. She is obviously very well cared for by the staff and loves singing the songs she's learnt. Activities in the toddler room are organised around weekly themes (e.g. picnics, pets, space) and there seems to be a real focus on learning creatively. We get lots of art. The nursery is not much to look at from the outside (it's in a car park near the train station), but it is bright and airy on the inside and its location is excellent. Since Autumn 2020, the nursery has also had a new manager and there has been a noticeable improvement in policies, food, communication and the activities they do with the children. Hopefully, it's only on the up.

Both my children attend the nursery and are very happy there. The baby section, in particular, is excellent. You really feel a sense of the staff's kindness and that they really care for the little ones. My daughter is always singing new songs. The nursery itself is also very approachable, willing to offer guidance and advice and seems to know the children individually. The feedback is through and the food sounds nice too.

Very caring and friendly staff. Millennium First Steps Nursery are always ready to be flexible around the child's needs, which helps working parents to be reassured about their child's care.

He loves going to nursery every day and has made friends. The children are encouraged to look after one another and they have created a warm, nurturing environment in the nursery. Staff are wonderful.

They watch closely kid's development and provide timely feedback to parents (every day). Overall, we have had a good experience with the nursery.

I know the staff clean up after meal time but the nursery always looks a bit grubby round the edges. Overall, happy with the nursery.
