We've had a wonderful experience with this nursery over the past three years. Our son is really happy there and has built lovely relationships with the caring, dedicated staff. The activities are always varied, engaging, and thoughtfully planned.
Sophie, the manager, has introduced some fantastic initiatives and is incredibly supportive to both children and parents. We're so happy with the nurturing environment and feel completely confident about sending our daughter there soon. We would highly recommend this nursery.
We recently moved from London to Hitchin and were worried about our two children (2 and 4) changing nurseries because they loved the old one. But they both loved Millennium from the very first day! The staff are very kind and caring, and make an effort to really get to know the children and plan activities around their interests, plus suggest specific activities that the children might enjoy doing at home. The activities are varied, engaging and educational, including lovely arts and crafts that the children are proud to bring home. Our older child is always excited to tell us about the things she did during the day, which wasn't the case at her old nursery. The staff give thorough feedback at pick-up, in addition to regular updates and photos shared via the app. For the older children, they make a real effort to prepare them for school but in ways that are still fun and playful.
My child has learnt a lot since attending here and we are very happy with there service.
I have two boys who attend this nursery setting one which has SEN needs and they have supported both my children exceptionally well. Both boys enjoy going there and have a brilliant time each day. Would recommend this nursery.
Great manager always just a phone call away when we've had any worries.
The staff are really friendly and have lots of time for
All the children.
Theres a wide range of fun activities daily ,My daughter always come home with a masterpiece she's made .The garden space is also brilliant and recently had a make over .
I Would recommend this nursery
We've been really impressed with Millennium Step Nursery! My son spent three wonderful years here and was always happy and well cared for. The staff are attentive and dedicated. Sophie, the manager, is fantastic. she's always present and ensures that every child receives the attention they deserve. My baby daughter has recently started, and the staff have been fantastic in helping her settle in. Huge thanks to Beth and Shalika for making her feel so welcome. We're really happy with the nursery and would highly recommend it.
and I love the fact that he gets to play outside every day.
My child has been at Millenium since about 10 months old and I honestly can't sing their praises enough. One of the reasons I choose them was because of the staff - they genuinely care about the children. You walk into the rooms and can feel the nurturing and friendly nature of the team. They are led by an amazing Nursery Manager who is hands on and works collaboratively with you to make sure your child is thriving there. The nursery have become a vital part of "our village". They are working hard on continuously improving as well; since we've been part of the nursery they have made significant improvements to the rooms, gardens and food offered. The nursery has flexed with our family needs and it feels like it's run family first rather than just a commercial business. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for childcare in Hitchin.
My little boy has been going to Millennium First Steps for just over a year now, and it's been such a lovely experience. He's now 2 and has come on so much since starting - his talking has really developed, and he's become so confident and sociable.
The staff are amazing with him - so caring, patient, and always full of smiles. They do so many fun and creative activities, and I love getting updates and photos of what he's been up to.
The food is always healthy and nutritious, and they make sure the little ones try a variety of things. It's good to know he's eating well-balanced meals while he's there.
It's such a warm, nurturing environment, and I honestly couldn't ask for a better place for him to be.
The staff has gone above and beyond to acomodate our meal and sleep pattern, we had a fabulous experience with all the designated keyworkers.
The nursery manager is a fantastic early years practicioner whose passion for children development is going extra miles.
From all the parents events, to a lot of support from local providers, they put in place a lot of resources to help parents understand more about school readiness program.
I highly recommend this nursery to all parents to want to see their little ones thriving and hitting all milestones.
My child has been going to this nursery since he was nearly 1 and now nearly 3.5 years old. We've especially been impressed recently when he's gone up to the preschool room. The manager and her team are amazing, the rooms have been split up between the younger and older preschoolers, and my child is loving every minute. All the crafts, themes, weekly activities has made my child say " I love preschool" which is something I thought he would never say as he loves being with me so much! the manager is always thinking ahead and how to improve, and had made loads of improvements since she started.
The children are well taken care of, there are plenty of activities each week and they provide regular updates including pictures on a daily basis. The nursery is also very well managed and we had a few interactions with the manager who is always opened to feedback and suggestions and takes quick actions.
We were initially hesitant to put him there, as it's by the train station car park and not necessarily appealing from the outside but we don't regret our choice. We now have a second child who will also go there later this year.
Lovely nursery with really thoughtful and friendly staff. The Manager is wonderful and always thinking of innovative things to add to what the nursery offers. She is really great with parents and always open to feedback.
The management are excellent and very supportive of parents and children, as well as staff. The team have been great with working through some complex health challenges that we've experienced. The staff are kind and caring and form genuine bonds with the children. The activities are fun and stimulating, my son learns lots. His favourite things are playing in the garden (which has lots of fun equipment and activities) and performing songs in the nursery theatre (each room has a little theatre which he loves). I particularly like that the nursery is so child lead and feel key staff really know and understand my child.
We moved our son to Millennium First Steps from another nursery at the beginning of 2024 and it was the best decision we could have made. From the start, we've been blown away by the individualised, child-centred care. We feel that there has always been a real effort made to understand our son, encourage his interests and help him with challenges. The staff are very caring and nurturing and the manager has gone out of her way to offer support. Another brilliant thing is weekly themes where children explore different aspects of a new topic. I love the tuff trays and activities. Our son comes home telling us what he learnt and singing new songs. We are very happy with the nursery and would highly recommend it.
Communication with the nursery staff has been excellent, with regular updates on my daughter's progress. I feel confident and reassured knowing that my child is in good hands and receiving top-notch care.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with the nursery and the positive impact it has had on my daughter's growth and development.
I would most definitely recommend it.
The management team, are incredibly helpful and responsive. We have had advice on behaviour we're struggling with at home and seen an immediate difference. They not only know all the children and their personalities but they are extremely experienced and qualified to provide outstanding care and a supportive learning and development environment.
My son loves nursery and has the best time there, I'm so grateful to the whole team for all they do.
Our son has spent a few months in the baby room at Millennium and he's only leaving because we're moving. We've been so happy with the level of care and attention given to our son. All staff were really understanding and supportive during the settling-in period and they'd clearly taken a baby-led approach to ensure the least distress. They've been really accommodating with nap times etc and have encouraged our son's interests. We couldn't be happier! Really sad to leave. Thank you!
We have been so happy with Millennium Nursery! Our son started there when he was one year old after not settling with a childminder. The staff are lovely and put so much time and effort into ensuring he settled and he has since loved going into nursery every day! I love that it’s a big open space and there are always fun activities set up for the children that have lots of thought going into them. They have a separate sleep space for babies with cots and our little boy has always enjoyed the food, there is lots of variation and it’s all healthy and freshly made. The app is great to see how he is getting on in the day and what he’s been up to. We’ve had flexibility when we’ve needed it and lots of support from the manager, communication has been great all round. We’re moving away from Hitchin and we’re so sad to leave - would really recommend as an excellent nursery!
