Priory Nursery, Stevenage Old Town

I honestly do not have a bad word to say and would recommend this nursery to everyone!

The whole setting has an openness to it, and a special mention to the garden - where kids are seen playing all day long. Really glad we were able to send our son here!

My son started at Priory Nursery in September last year and the difference in him is amazing, he has come on leaps and bounds in that time. He loves going to nursery - he runs in every morning and doesn't want to leave at home time. The staff are lovely and the care they provide is exceptional. The communication is outstanding and I love being able to check in at any time of the day to see what they are up to and the activities they are doing. I feel extremely fortunate that my child attends Priory Nursery and would 100% recommend.

Highly recommend Priory Nursery. From my initial contact with the manager and her team, communication has been good. Staff are friendly and welcoming to both children and their families. My son settled straight away and I believe that is because of the positive and nurturing environment that the nursery provides. He looks forward to attending and is developing his independence with toileting, putting his coat and bag away, tidying up, etc, which has been encouraged by the staff. The food is cooked from scratch on-site and my son eats better there than at home!

Our son has been at Priory Nursery from 2021 September and he loved it from day 1. Our son is on the autism spectrum and nonverbal and the care that was offered to him is assuring and let us feel secure. The staff are welcoming and well-prepared. The management is right on top of good experience and well running the place. The senco officer was more than helpful and always empathetic towards our situation and needs. I highly recommend this nursery and after-hours place. We would like to keep coming on our holidays too when our son will be in school. Thank you Priory Nursery.

Great nursery with lots of space for the children with so much for them to do. The staff are amazing and have an excellent understanding of the different needs children have. Communication between staff and parents/carers is best I’ve found it’s lovely to see the children interacting with others at pick up and drop off couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

We've had a very positive experience so far. Everyone has been absolutely lovely towards our child and they seem to really take their time getting to know all the children which are lovely to see. I really enjoy the flexibility in terms of settling in etc, I really appreciated being able to go with my son's needs when settling in and it has definitely paid off.

Both my children have attended the nursery from 18 months old, my youngest is currently still there. They have both grown in confidence since starting the nursery and have enjoyed their days there. My eldest stayed at the nursery until he went on to Reception at school and he was school ready and it made the transition really easy. He also cannot wait to go back in the half terms! Both of my children have loved the food provided and will often explore much more foods than they do at home. One of my children has multiple severe food allergies to many foods and food is still always provided for him and menu changes to keep him safe, as an allergy parent this is everything! I have always felt listened to and I am confident and happy when leaving my children in the care of the Priory Nursery.

Priory Nursery are by far the most outstanding and caring nursery. They go above and beyond for every single child. I honestly can’t put into words how grateful we are to them all. Their team is exceptional, you can see they truly are a family in there and their safety is paramount. They have looked after our children over the years showing us all the wonderful activities they do with the children. Throughout the toughest years with covid, they powered through. I couldn’t imagine a better nursery! Thank you for all that you do!

Amazing nursery always loads of different activities going on for the kids to be curious about and to learn from. I’m often intrigued by their activities. For example, when you drop your child in the morning, there’s often a new, themed learning activity out - it always looks really interesting! My eldest went there and my youngest goes there now, too. I have worked with young people for a long time and it really matters to me that my kids get the best start to their education and socialisation, which is why I chose this nursery. My youngest son’s progress has been rapid since joining there, especially his speech. All the kids are lovely - very happy, friendly kids and they have a lovely little community there. Very warm atmosphere. Staff are also very diligent and don’t let things slide. Staff are extremely on the ball, which is what you want. The management is excellent and very thorough. Nothing gets past them! They also have a 5* food rating - food freshly cooked on site.

I am so grateful to the team for everything they have done for my son and continue to do. The team have become like an extension of our family to the children and this as a working mother means everything - (plus the food always looks so yummy).

A lovely nursery for my daughter. My daughter seems happy and comfortable when she is there. She has developed her speech really well and enjoys playing with other children. She particularly loves the dress up and the nursery encourages this freedom of play. The staff are always friendly approachable and are experienced in dealing with the children. The communication is also good.

This nursery is superbly well managed, flexible and very reasonably priced. Our child has really enjoyed her time, the staff are so lovely and she will really miss them when she departs for school this year. We highly recommend this pre-school setting.

I am so glad we found Priory Nursery! My son has been going for around 9 months now and has such a great time. The staff put in so much effort with the children and always do creative and fun educational activities with them. Every day you get sent an email of all the things they did that day, along with nappy changes and what they ate (which is always super healthy and yummy!) I’d recommend this nursery to anyone, it’s made leaving my son whilst I work a lot easier.

Both of my children attended The Priory nursery. The staff go above and beyond to ensure the children are well looked after. I loved the big outside area the most; to be able to spend as much time outside as they do I think it's brilliant. They have lots of different sheds filled with all sorts of fun for the children. The food they are given is very nutritious, nice and there are different meals each day.

My son has been going to The Priory Nursery for nearly three years now (he is going to school in September). When I was looking at nurseries, I had certain things I was looking for as I am a Nursery Nurse myself. I knew as soon as I walked into The Priory that I wanted to send my son there! Not only is the environment lovely, but also the staff. It’s a small, independent nursery which gives it a home from home feel and you instantly feel comfortable there. The staff are always so lovely and welcoming. My son has additional needs and I always feel like his needs are met and the staff go out of their way to make his time at nursery easier and fun. There is also a brilliant manager. She knows the children so well and is always so accommodating and helpful. I know my son loves going there and I feel like it really has given him the right platform into school. We will all really miss it! Also - my son loves all of Jo-Jos meals.
