I didn't have much choice when I was looking for somewhere to do the hours I needed to fit around work but I needn't have looked anywhere else anyway. Now both my children are at Busy Bees and they love it. Both started in the youngest class and my daughter is now amongst the oldest. Everyone there
is friendly, professional and caring; I just can't rate them highly enough.

My son has been attending Busy Bees at Great Ashby since he was a year old and is now in preschool. I couldn’t be happier with the team and the care provided for him. He thrives there and is excited to go in every morning. We are always kept fully up to date on his progress and the facilities and food
are brilliant too. Each step he has taken into a new room has been handled wonderfully making the transition easy and each key worker has been exceptional. Thank you Busy Bees!

My daughter attends this nursery now (as previously my older son did too) and she has progressed so much in her time there since joining as a baby. Her confidence has grown and she has made many close friends. Her carers know my daughter well and can adapt what they are doing to fully engage her in
activities. Every day my daughter runs into nursery excited to see what she will be doing today. This nursery is fully recommended.

I cannot recommend Busy Bees Great Ashby highly enough.
My daughter enjoys going so much she even wants to go on the weekend.
All the team are very welcoming and keep us parents up to date on what has happened during the day as well as suggestions for help at home.
My daughters speech and interacting
skills have significantly improved.

My son has been at Busy Bees since he was 9 months old and is soon to graduate preschool before starting reception in September. I cannot thank the team enough for their support and patience with my son. He has grown in confidence, social skills and communication since being there and I especially want

My son started in February 2018 and I have absolutely loved sending him to Busy Bees. The staff are fantastic and so excited to see him when he comes in of a morning. I have seen his confidence grow and reach developmental milestones so much quicker than I expected. As a first-time mum, I have no worries
about how my child is whilst I'm at work as I know he is having an amazing time.
The rooms are set out in different areas to help each child's development and there is so much for them to engage with. The food menus are brilliant and I know my child is being fed a healthy balance of food. Overall, I am so happy for my son to be here at Busy Bees Great Ashby and I would recommend it to anyone.

We can’t thank the team enough for taking such good care of our daughter. Since attending Busy Bees she’s become more independent, happier and has picked up so many new words. Our daughter is very settled and happy and would highly recommend! The staff are very personable and know your name and take
time to talk to you about your child’s daily routine. One big thing I noticed is that my daughter's clothes and bears are always in the bag ready to go home instead of having to search for them.

My son recently moved into Ladybirds and the transitional procedure was excellent. He spent afternoons and then some full days in the room before formally moving up. This gave him an opportunity to become familiar with the new room and adults and as a result, moved into the room with ease.

My daughter has attended Busy Bees since she was 11 months old (she is now approaching two). She enjoys a good range of activities during her time there including both indoor and outdoor play and I feel learns a lot, particularly in terms of her speech and language. The staff and management are very
friendly and attentive. They provide a good variety of meals and snacks. My daughter seems to really enjoy her time there.

My son attends 4 full days a week and absolutely loves this nursery! All the staff are very welcoming and he settled very quickly. He does a number of activities each day and eats a wide variety of healthy meals. His key worker is great and knows him very well. This is the second nursery he has attended
and so pleased we moved him here. I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

My son is happy and settled at nursery, he only attends one day a week but runs in to see his key person in the morning. I truly feel the staff in the room know my son and all of his little ways. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to a friend.

I am extremely happy with Great Ashby Busy Bees, my children have improved massively since attending here. I recommend the nursery to all my friends with children. I have 2 daughters who both go to Busy Bees and they both absolutely love going! I have to bribe them to leave and come home every day!

Lisa Stevens

Job Title: Centre Director Joined: 2000

My name is Lisa Stevens and I am the Nursery Centre Director at Stevenage Great Ashby Nursery since January 2013, previously I was Manager at Busy Bees Welwyn Garden City for nine years and have in total 27 years of childcare experience.


I have a range of qualifications and experience from completing my NNEB in 1992, NVQ level 3 in 1998, Assessor and Internal verifier award to more recently Certificate in Leadership and Management.


Over the past few years I have attended many courses and training to ensure my knowledge is current within the childcare industry, including Level 3 cert in food management, safeguarding designated person, paediatric first aid and EYFS courses.


The current staff team have a long service history ranging from 2-10 years inclusive and are a stable experienced team, we take pride in our low staff turnover and consistent key person approach to caring for every child’s individual needs.


I find being part of children’s growth and development both rewarding and satisfying, I get the best of both worlds being office based my job entails working closely with parent’s but there is opportunity during the day to spend time in the rooms joining in the children’s activities.


I currently work Monday - Friday, both of my children have attended the nursery since 8 months of age until they both left for Reception.
