I'm so glad I chose this nursery for my daughter. They go above and beyond in their care and activities with the children. I have noticed an incredible difference in my child's development, and she is excelling in her milestones.
She is excited to go, and this also reassures me of her happiness there.

I have the utmost respect for every staff member at the nursery. My child has blossomed and grown so much; her speech has come on leaps and bounds, she is more confident socialising and has learned so much with her time at the nursery.
I love the structure they have in place for learning and child
development. We’ve never had an issue with cleanliness and we have always been impressed by the nursery’s professionalism.
When I have another child I hope to put them in the same nursery.

Our Daughter has attended Busy Bees in Great Ashby since September 2020, she always has a smile on her face when we pick her up and always is excited to go.
We can't speak highly enough of the staff there, they are always easy to contact, give advice when needed and have gone above and beyond to enhance
our daughters learning experience at every opportunity, whilst giving us constant feedback on her progress both in person and through the app that they use.
We visited a few nurseries when contemplating where to send our daughter and we were both impressed by the welcoming and knowledgeable output of the staff that our experience since our daughter has been going there has only reconfirmed we have made the right choice.
Can't complement Busy Bees, Great Ashby, enough and we recommended wholeheartedly sending any child there from the experience we have had.

Outstanding care and facilities.
Our family are thankful to Busy Bee’s at Stevenage, Great Ashby for looking after our daughter so well.
They have also supported us with a delayed return to nursery due to a member of our household shielding during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Staff are amazing and have
built true bonds with our daughter, they support her with developing her speech (she is speech delayed).
Viewed most nursery’s in the Stevenage area and this is, we feel, by far the best for us.
Our daughter always leaves nursery happy and content and we couldn’t ask for more.

Fantastic nursery I wouldn’t have my daughter anywhere else! Care of the children is number one, you are kept in the loop at all times. My daughter gets so excited to get up and get to nursery every day and comes home beaming. Cannot recommend Busy Bees enough. The activities are endless, the children
learn and grow so much .... as for the food, she gets fed better than me. Very nutritious, varied and good quality.

My daughter has attended Busy Bees, Great Ashby, since she was 10 months old, and graduated from pre-school just a few weeks ago. From the baby room to pre-school, in each room she has received the highest level of care and all the support she needs to hit her age-appropriate milestones. The staff are
excellent communicators, and there is a constant 2-way 'conversation' between parents and key workers that coordinates learning at nursery with activities undertaken at home. My daughter has thrived in this environment; she is curious, kind, has lovely manners and interacts beautifully with other children, setting her up perfectly for reception. Management is accessible, friendly and any issues are dealt with quickly and discreetly. I can jut recommend this setting enough!

Our little boy joined Busy Bees at Great Ashby when he was just over 12 months.
At the show-round, immediately I was impressed by the easy parking, the level of security (no mobile phones allowed beyond reception etc) and the easy, fun atmosphere.
The nursery is spacious and well equipped with great
games and toys in the garden which is used in all-weathers.
The care taken by all members of staff is exceptional and communication very free-flowing.
We’re so sad to be leaving and would highly recommend both the nursery and the team that makes it work!

I cannot recommend Busy Bees, Great Ashby enough for the care, love and support they have given our little boy over the past couple of years. My son has just graduated from Busy Bees Great Ashby having started from 15 months old. I cannot recommend them enough, I just only wish he had started there younger like I have now with my daughter who is currently attending and has been since 8 months old (now 2yrs old).
In the almost 4 years that
my son attended I have not had any concerns, throughout his journey of changing rooms as he got older and hitting milestones of potty training etc we have been fully supported and informed. The staff are so friendly and approachable. My son has made friends for life from nursery as have I.

Busy Bees Great Ashby are wonderful. My daughter was there from 1years old and she was very clingy going in but always came out beaming! Compared to my son who didn’t go to nursery my daughter is more friendly, outgoing, well ahead in counting, drawing etc. And she isn’t as fussy with food. I honestly
thank the staff at Busy Bees for that. They really do care. 5 stars. You couldn’t ask for more.

My eldest daughter is due to finish at Busy Bees, Great Ashby in September when she moves up to school. After 3 years of full-time care, I can honestly say there hasn't been a day when she didn't want to go to nursery. She has absolutely loved going there. She always ate well, slept when she needed
to and played happily every day. She had plenty of time outside playing, made firm friends and often talks about the carers as her grown-up friends. Our daughter has allergies, asthma and eczema and when she was unwell, they followed medical advice to the letter and communicated perfectly with us. At drop off and pick up, the team were always friendly and took time to chat with us which meant they found out about our weekend or what our daughter was interested in that week. The team organised fun, charity days for the children in the nursery such as pyjama days, world book day and Halloween dress-up. They also organised out of nursery events such as a visit to a park and sponsored walks. Absolutely brilliant.

Job Title: Centre Director Joined: 2000

My name is Lisa Stevens and I am the Nursery Centre Director at Stevenage Great Ashby Nursery since January 2013, previously I was Manager at Busy Bees Welwyn Garden City for nine years and have in total 27 years of childcare experience.


I have a range of qualifications and experience from completing my NNEB in 1992, NVQ level 3 in 1998, Assessor and Internal verifier award to more recently Certificate in Leadership and Management.


Over the past few years I have attended many courses and training to ensure my knowledge is current within the childcare industry, including Level 3 cert in food management, safeguarding designated person, paediatric first aid and EYFS courses.


The current staff team have a long service history ranging from 2-10 years inclusive and are a stable experienced team, we take pride in our low staff turnover and consistent key person approach to caring for every child’s individual needs.


I find being part of children’s growth and development both rewarding and satisfying, I get the best of both worlds being office based my job entails working closely with parent’s but there is opportunity during the day to spend time in the rooms joining in the children’s activities.


I currently work Monday - Friday, both of my children have attended the nursery since 8 months of age until they both left for Reception.
